Terror conspiracy bigger, insiders say

Wow, mind blowing who knew we had more than three radical Muslims in the US? I read this and decided it was pointless to post as I think for our readership it was simplistic and offered nothing of value. But, toward the end I saw the same old tired Muslim propaganda that I love exposing, so skip to the bottom and read my rebuttal. If you are extremely bored, you can read it all but you should be outside exercising and you know it.

THE COLUMBUS DISPATCH
Thus far, they have been the only known faces of al-Qaida in America’s heartland.
The convicted: Nuradin Abdi, 35, the Somali man who proposed blowing up a central Ohio shopping mall; and Iyman Faris, 38, a truck driver from Pakistan who studied bringing down the Brooklyn Bridge.
And the accused: Christopher Paul, a Worthington native and Muslim convert who is accused of helping train terrorists for bomb attacks on Americans overseas.
The FBI and assistant U.S. attorneys acknowledge the trio had help, but just how big was the cell locally? Government officials won’t say.
But attorneys for the convicted say they number as many as 10.
“There were nine or 10 people that knew each other and would meet each other,” said Mahjir Sherif, Abdi’s attorney. “I’m sure with the government they are guilty by association.”
-typical Muslim, always spinning. He had no reason to attack the integrity of the investigation or the government.
“A lot more than three performed in their jihadist group,” said David Smith, who represented Faris in his appeals.
Smith thinks several of the group have left the country but, “I can’t understand why they haven’t been indicted already. I’m assuming it could be that it depends on Abdi’s cooperation.”
Sherif said Abdi would not cooperate and there is no requirement to in his plea deal with the government.
Smith, who no longer represents Faris, said his former client described meetings after mosque and outings at state parks as social and nothing more. The government has said otherwise.
The group attended the Omar Ibnelkhattab Mosque at 580 Riverview Dr. in the University District. And it was after mosque that they chatted, Sherif said.
Paperwork in the criminal cases against Abdi, Faris and Paul mentions gatherings that included several people.
Mehmet Aydinbelge, who was not indicted but later deported as a “national security risk,” told FBI agents a group of individuals with extremist Islamic views would meet at the Riverview Drive mosque after prayers. Court records show he told agents this group included Faris, Abdi, two blacked-out names, “and others.”
Aydinbelge is referred to as a “Faris associate cooperating with the FBI” in 2003, but is also described as a moderate.
-a moderate Muslim is rarer than a sasquatch.
The government did not consider Aydinbelge a “paid or official informant” but he did give agents information. He was in Columbus on a student visa to attend Ohio State University in 1994, but stopped attending after 1996.
Authorities deported him to Turkey in June 2003, court papers say.
-meaning they had enough to be suspicious but not enough to convict so he pleaded out, sold out his buddies and was deported.
Court records only hint at others. Paul’s indictment says Paul and Abdi drove to Pittsburgh where Paul and a man there discussed attacking a U.S. military base in Qatar.
A government source said the man is the same listed in Abdi’s court papers as “Malik.” The papers say Abdi drove to Pittsburgh and picked up Malik to drive him to Port Columbus on Dec. 31, 2002.
Sherif thinks that Malik is cooperating with officials now but said he wouldn’t be surprised if he was charged later.
Most federal court documents refer only vaguely to other members of the cell.
Paul’s indictment said that on April 24, 1998, “Christopher Paul conducted hiking, camping, and other training operations in Burr Oak State Park in the State of Ohio with several co-conspirators, both known and unknown.”
If Columbus’ cell proves to have as many as 10 people, it should not come as a surprise to Americans, Sherif said. Since Sept. 11, 2001, he said the nation has stopped asking “Why are they angry with us?”
-he is right about that-we stopped asking and started fighting back. Two of Islams most powerful Muslims armies went down, Saddam’s army and the Taliban.
Sherif said he thinks Americans should read Osama bin Laden’s letters. Although he doesn’t agree with bin Laden’s tactics of using terrorism, he said he agrees with the sentiments that the United States is creating a worldwide divide.
Bin Laden thinks the U.S. is wrong to sell arms to Israel and to have made agreements with the monarchy in Saudi Arabia for oil at prices below what they should be, Sherif noted.
-sounds like Sherif has chosen his side. He used a switch and bait attack. He doesn’t agree with bin laden but we should read his letters. He agrees with the man and his efforts just not his tactics. Had he said Hilter was wrong to gas all the Jews but he had some really good ideas-he wouldn’t look so moderate would he? The charge the US sets the global price of oil and the Saudi’s answer to us in bunk. This type of BS has to be exposed it furthers the Muslims as victims theme and the evil US seeks to control the Muslims and their oil theme. He worked both of those in well considering they really have nothing to do with the article.
Saudi Arabia has “become a captive of the U.S. military, but can’t defend itself,” Sherif said.
-a captive? Really and who is holding what gun to their head? Just whom does Saudi Arabia have to defend itself from? We have already demonstrated we would defend it with our own blood. No area country can threaten it except possibly Iran and we are itching to smack those dogs down. There is no threat to Saudi Arabia and he knows it, just more Muslims spin doctoring.
Sherif, who was born in Ethopia, said he knows his thoughts will anger some, but he is not shying away.
“I have a vested interest in America. My kids were born here. This is my children’s future,” he said. “And in America, I have the duty to speak up.”
-another commonly seen theme, we are as American as you are. First, an immigrant who immediately discovers the country he arrived in is not compatible with his beliefs could simply return home. Second, he is not asking for his children to grow up as “American’s” he is calling for them to be raised under another system more to his own liking, I smell Islam and it stinks. Only the last statement was true-he has an Islamic duty to speak up. His might be a peaceful jihad but that changes nothing but method the goal is the same.
