Are Terrorists Plotting to Use School Buses in Upcoming Attack?

As I was watching Glenn Beck on CNN tonight, I was shocked to hear that 17 school buses had been stolen in Houston, Texas. I immediately remembered that the U.S. military had found information in Iraq pertaining to U.S. schools. Also, in September 2004 the FBI notified school districts in 6 states that photographs, diagrams, and emergency plans had been found in the possession of unidentified individuals.
More surprising to me was how this had slipped in under my radar, as I pride myself on keeping up with these seemingly innocuous little details. After a little bit of Googling, I came across an interesting article at Wake Up America. Here’s a sampling:
We have seen a story or two, now and then, on this subject but the media firestorm that we would expect hasn’t materialized and we have to wonder why.
Before I show you some very disturbing facts, let me ask you a couple of questions.
Do you have children of school age? Do you drive them to school or do they get picked up by a bus? Do you walk them out to the bus, hand them their lunch money or a bagged lunched, kiss them goodbye and wave as they are leaving? Do they run outside on their own to catch their bus? Do you look at the bus driver and recognize them as the same person day after day? Or is it a new driver today?
Homeland security:
Over the summer months, and while your attention has been upon everything but school, at least 17 school buses have been stolen from a variety of student transportation concerns, including private companies, charter schools and businesses. These thefts occurred within a specific geographical suburb of Houston. No known threat? Oh, yes, there is a very real promissory threat from Islamic terrorists to kill several million American children; this is just one avenue to accomplish that Islamic promise. Figuratively, this falling “tree” is a threat to our children and also involves a transportation system. Did you hear it?

I have a bad feeling that it will take a Beslan type atrocity or a nuke attack to finally get this nation thinking correctly on the evil intentions of the peaceful ones. And even then there will be those who still won’t get it. Far too many aren’t getting it six years after 9/11.

My first thought was no Muslim kid would ever be safe again. There are few things that would turn one from a rational person into a raging killer but harming school age children could be enough to make someone snap. The bigger the attack the bigger the response.
Muslims tend to group up and I’m sure many people already know where they live, the locations of mosques and schools. If not simple google searches would tell them.
Initially many people would cry out for revenge but thinking and acting are completely different things but the emotion would be there. I do not believe the word “backlash” would sufficiently cover what I think might happen.
There are not enough police to cover entire neighborhoods and all Muslims in the US might find themselves at risk. A few crazies would head straight at them. The police and a few gun-owning Muslims would eventually get them but probably at a high cost. Next you would see Islamophobia break out in a big way, boycotts of Muslim products and businesses, trumped up excuses to fire Muslim employees and yes murders, assaults and even “accidents”. I think even the kids in public and private schools would join in on persecuting Muslim children.
Most Americans would condemn the backlash but many more would use it to force political parties to act. Any party which did not act and quickly would be a vague memory and we would quickly find ourselves a one party system. Sealed borders, immigration control’s, limits on aid to Muslim countries and an end to student visas from islamic countries. I think we would see all this and more.
Muslims severally underestimated American response to 9/11 and I hope they do not repeat the mistake. I’m sure we would see calls for calm and people taking in Muslims to protect them. How long can that last? They still have to attend school, go to work etc. I have never been to fond of the genocide crowd as I think the vast majority of Muslims are not practicing but I do fear American’s would over react to attacks on their children.
Al Qaida’s dream of starting a everyone against Islam war might sound good to them but they would not be the ones to pay. They may learn the meaning behind letting sleeping dragons lie. Muslim readers only you would have the power to stop this type of attacks, you know who the radicals are, you know who teaches hate and who pays them. Pick your century, 21st or 7th? Don’t let others pick for you.
So there you have it. What I think might happen if a massacre of American children happened. Where would I be in this? I really have no idea. Like many, that decision has yet to be made. What would you do?

Forgive the spelling and grammar errors on the above post but the thought of this being possible has me worked up.

the whole school terrorism thing is particularly scary for me, I think because it is especially disgusting. Read about Beslan and you will cry. Really.

Thank you for the link. I was also very disturbed when I started researching for this piece.
More disturbing was the information I didn’t include, because althogh it did include buses and children, motives couldn’t be verified.
For example, in florida two middle eastern men got onto a school bus but when the police removed them, no motive could be confimed, no one knew if they got on the bus accidenatlly, because of a language barrier or if it was deliberate.
Because no verifiable information could be found, I left that and other similar incidents out. It is worriesome and people need to be alert.
Thanks again for the link, good blog.

Glenn referred on his radio show yesterday to previous incidents in America. Did a little digging…his concern of a similar attack would seem to be valid due to the similar terrorist tactics of Islamists.

These buses were stolen mainly from the north side of Houston.
They do not mention what suburb or school district these charter/public/private buses serve, except to say that they were not stolen from HISD bus farms. (Houston Independent School District).
There are probably 8-10 ISD’s in and around Houston. I cannot seem to find exact information. Why am I concerned? Because I live on the north side of Houston.

Where do you hide 17 buses ? Houston ? What’s the chance of paint jobs and interstate movement. It’s bad enough that 17 buses disappear one wouldn’t think 17 buses would just reappear. Ronin : imo if a significant number of children were hurt/killed in multiple attacks across a number of zones everyday muslims would face a great deal of hardship.

Poor Al Qaida they underestimate…the Truth is that Al Qaida would be obliterated with no new converts, and Islam would then be peaceful again as it has been in the last few decades. Our government has this solid plan for some time and will use it.

I also think a lot of people in Houston (if you have even heard the story) are being duped. I talked to a school bus driver and she is of the impression that those buses went to Mexico. I believe the AQ theory and have been praying.

I fing this very disturbing and upsetting. I have to children of school age. Would they be planning to attack elementary, junior high, or highschools? This is why our military needs to be here present in the U.S. and not in Iraq.

i was on a trip home from kansas city, mo on hwy 71 just around dequee ak, and there where 6 school busses all in a row in front of us all the school busses had the counties covered over with black spray paint. the busses would stay in pairs of three with a gap in between so noone could pass them. finally when the road came to a 2 way we passed them all and none of the drivers were american ! i was pretty spooked ! i’m not sure if they where terrorists but its really strange that there where 6 busses with no children and the counties spray painted away ! we called and gave info to the fbi i really hope that nothing bad happens and that it was nothing ! but these days you have to worry about strange things !
