Since when is including same-gender couples in literature “sex education”? There is nothing sexually explicit in either of these books, any more than there is in a storybook for the same age group featuring opposite-gender couples. Muslim, Christian, atheist, whatever– people objecting to these are doing so out of their own insecurities. They need a group to put down and exclude so that they can feel they’re maintaining some power or privileged position in society. Some of their children may not turn out to be heterosexual. Their parents will make these kids hate them, or hate themselves. Sad.

And do they take in consideration that the Muslim holidays follow the lunar calendar and the dates for them are not the same for one year and the other in the Western calendar ? just wondering…

When I was in infant school many years ago, I started reading “Dick and Dora”,
and never had to worry if Dick had “identity issues” or if Dora was “same sex
attracted” or whatever; the goal was simply to learn to read.

These days, of course, the Three Little Pigs don’t dance, because it breaches
Sharia Law, and the Three Blind Mice throw the shoe bombs and the ricin at
the arranged marriage of Jehad and Jilbab.
