PARIS – French former film star Brigitte Bardot went on trial on Tuesday for insulting Muslims, the fifth time she has faced the charge of “inciting racial hatred” over her controversial remarks about Islam and its followers.
Prosecutors asked that the Paris court hand the 73-year-old former sex symbol a two-month suspended prison sentence and fine her 15,000 euros ($23,760) for saying the Muslim community was “destroying our country and imposing its acts.”
Since retiring from the film industry in the 1970s, Bardot has become a prominent animal rights activist but she has also courted controversy by denouncing Muslim traditions and immigration from predominantly Muslim countries.
She has been fined four times for inciting racial hatred since 1997, at first 1,500 euros and most recently 5,000.
Prosecutor Anne de Fontette told the court she was seeking a tougher sentence than usual, adding: “I am a little tired of prosecuting Mrs. Bardot.”

Bardot did not attend the trial because she said she was physically unable to. The verdict is expected in several weeks.
French anti-racist groups complained last year about comments Bardot made about the Muslim feast of Eid al-Adha in a letter to President Nicolas Sarkozy that was later published by her foundation.
Muslims traditionally mark Eid al-Adha by slaughtering a sheep or another animal to commemorate the prophet Abraham’s willingness to sacrifice his son on God’s orders.
France is home to five million Muslims, Europe’s largest Muslim community, making up eight percent of France’s population.

i agree with Madam Bardot that the ritual killing and sacrifice is primitive and barbaric…..when will Mankind evolve past this ancient religious custom….when will Mankind no longer need this primitive concept of “GOD”……..the fine is preposterous!
Bardot’s concern is principally with the willfull and unnecessary sacrifice of lives to some God………I agree with her! My muslim friends are not so fundamental as to wish animal sacrifice or to be offended by those who disagree with this barely post-neanderthal practice..

Ms Bardot is right on target with her critisicsms of the Radical Moslems. They are a Barbaric sort, and have absolutely no right to impose their type of religion upon the rest of the world the way they do. i.e. convert or die. This is unacceptable behavior among the free world, and should not be allowed. But, for the sake of being “Politically Correct”, too many nations are kowtowing to them, for fear of retaliation. Let ‘em retaliate… we ain’t played Cowboys and Moslems yet… well, actually, that ain’t true… we did, and we won…. Iraq is now free, as is Afghanstan.
The so called Allah god of the Moslems is NOT the same God Jehovah, who later bacame known in the flesh as Jesus Christ. I’m a muslim I am from Turkie. I was so sad about these writings.My religion orders me to respect all the believes but these writings insult and swear my belief.This madam bridget bardot -at the age of my grandma and one step to grave- unfortunately doesn’t know about Islam.If she does she would never spend these words in vain.But may be this is my fault beacause I couldn’t represent my religion truely and I didn’t show my hospitality to the others.( “I” means “all the muslims” )anyway I must tolerate this and I tore into burst myself shame on me.I am not a terrorist because “A terrorist can’t be a muslim, A muslim can’t be a terrorist”

Qur’an (8:12) – “I will cast terror into the hearts of those who disbelieve. Therefore strike off their heads and strike off every fingertip of them” No reasonable person would interpret this to mean a spiritual struggle.

Qur’an (9:73) – “O Prophet! strive hard against the unbelievers and the hypocrites and be unyielding to them; and their abode is hell, and evil is the destination.”

Qur’an (9:123) – “O you who believe! fight those of the unbelievers who are near to you and let them find in you hardness.”

Bukhari (52:177) – Allah’s Apostle said, “The Hour will not be established until you fight with the Jews, and the stone behind which a Jew will be hiding will say. “O Muslim! There is a Jew hiding behind me, so kill him.”
Bukhari (52:256) – The Prophet… was asked whether it was permissible to attack the pagan warriors at night with the probability of exposing their women and children to danger. The Prophet replied, “They (i.e. women and children) are from them (i.e. pagans).”
In other words, it’s okay to kill women and children of pagans…
Bukhari (52:220) – Allah’s Apostle said… ‘I have been made victorious with terror’
Abu Dawud (14:2526) – The Prophet (peace_be_upon_him) said: Three things are the roots of faith: to refrain from (killing) a person who utters, “There is no god but Allah” and not to declare him unbeliever whatever sin he commits, and not to excommunicate him from Islam for his any action; and jihad will be performed continuously since the day Allah sent me as a prophet until the day the last member of my community will fight with the Dajjal (Antichrist)
Abu Dawud (14:2527) – The Prophet said: Striving in the path of Allah (jihad) is incumbent on you along with every ruler, whether he is pious or impious
Muslim (1:33) – the Messenger of Allah said: I have been commanded to fight against people till they testify that there is no god but Allah, that Muhammad is the messenger of Allah
Bukhari (8:387) – Allah’s Apostle said, “I have been ordered to fight the people till they say: ‘None has the right to be worshipped but Allah
Muslim (1:149) – “Abu Dharr reported: I said: Messenger of Allah, which of the deeds is the best? He (the Holy Prophet) replied: Belief in Allah and Jihad in His cause…”
Muslim (20:4645) – “…He (the Messenger of Allah) did that and said: There is another act which elevates the position of a man in Paradise to a grade one hundred (higher), and the elevation between one grade and the other is equal to the height of the heaven from the earth. He (Abu Sa’id) said: What is that act? He replied: Jihad in the way of Allah! Jihad in the way of Allah!”
Muslim (20:4696) – “the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) said: ‘One who died but did not fight in the way of Allah nor did he express any desire (or determination) for Jihid died the death of a hypocrite.’”
Muslim (19:4321-4323) – Three separate hadith in which Muhammad shrugs over the news that innocent children were killed in a raid by his men against unbelievers. His response: “They are of them (meaning the enemy).”
Tabari 7:97 The morning after the murder of Ashraf, the Prophet declared, “Kill any Jew who falls under your power.” Ashraf was a poet, killed by Muhammad’s men because he insulted Islam. Here, Muhammad widens the scope of his orders to kill. An innocent Jewish businessman was then slain by his Muslim partner, merely for being non-Muslim.
Tabari 9:69 “Killing Unbelievers is a small matter to us” The words of Muhammad, prophet of Islam.
Ibn Ishaq: 327 – “Allah said, ‘A prophet must slaughter before collecting captives. A slaughtered enemy is driven from the land. Muhammad, you craved the desires of this world, its goods and the ransom captives would bring. But Allah desires killing them to manifest the religion.’”
Ibn Ishaq: 990 – Lest anyone think that cutting off someone’s head while screaming ‘Allah Akbar!’ is a modern custom, here is an account of that very practice under Muhammad, who seems to approve.
Ibn Ishaq: 992 – “Fight everyone in the way of Allah and kill those who disbelieve in Allah.” Muhammad’s instructions to his men prior to a military raid.
So, your religion does not order you to respect other religions and beliefs.
Or, do you want me to start listing all the suras that belittle Christians, Pagans, and Jews? You know, like 98:6: “Those who disbelieved among the people of the scripture, and the idol worshipers, have incurred the fire of Gehenna forever. They are the worst creatures.”

33:21 – “Ye have indeed in the Messenger of Allah a beautiful pattern (of conduct) for any one whose hope is in Allah and the Final Day, and who engages much in the Praise of Allah.”
68:04 – “And thou (standest) on an exalted standard of character. ”
Yeah, maybe I’d be a little more forgiving if your “exalted standard of character,” Muhammad, had not been a mass-murdering sexual pervert.
“The apostle of Allah imprisoned the Qurayza in Medina while trenches were dug in the market‑place. Then he sent for the men and had their heads struck off so that they fell in the trenches. They were brought out in groups, and among them was Kab, the chief of the tribe. In number, they amounted to six or seven hundred, although some state it to have been eight or nine hundred. All were executed. One man turned to his people and said, ‘It matters not! By God’s will, the children of Israel were destined for this massacre! Then he seated himself and his head was struck off.
Aisha, the wife of the apostle, said, ‘Only one of their women was killed. By Allah! She was with me, talking and laughing, while the apostle slaughtered her countrymen in the marketplace; and when her name was called, I asked, “What is this for?” and she replied, “I am going to be slain!” I asked why and she answered, “For something I have done!” Then she was taken away, and her head was struck off. But I shall never cease to marvel at her good humour and laughter, although she knew that she was to die.” She was the woman who threw a millstone down from the Qurayza fort and killed a Believer.” (Tabari VIII:35/Ishaq:464)
There are plenty of other examples of that type of stuff. But, let’s look at Muhammad’s “beautiful pattern of conduct” concerning menstruating women:
First of all, the Qur’an says, “They will question thee concerning the monthly course. Say: ‘It is hurt; so go apart from women during the monthly course, and do not approach them till they are clean. When they have cleansed themselves, then come unto them as God has commanded you.’ Truly, God loves those who repent, and He loves those who cleanse themselves. S. 2:222 (Arberry translation)
So, why is it that Muhammad felt he was exempt from such annoyances?
Narrated ‘Aisha: The Prophet and I used to take a bath from a single pot while we were Junub. During the menses, he used to order me to put on an Izar (dress worn below the waist) and used to fondle me. While in Itikaf, he used to bring his head near me and I would wash it while I used to be in my periods (menses). (Sahih al-Bukhari, Volume 1, Book 6, Number 298)
Narrated ‘Abdur-Rahman bin Al-Aswad: (on the authority of his father) ‘Aisha said: “Whenever Allah’s Apostle wanted to fondle anyone of us during her periods (menses), he used to order her to put on an Izar and start fondling her.” ‘Aisha added, “None of you could control his sexual desires as the Prophet could.” (Sahih al-Bukhari, Volume 1, Book 6, Number 299; see also Number 300)
Interestingly enough, Muhammad had many more wives (more than the 3 or 4 he commanded his followers to limit themselves to) that he could have chosen to be with while Aisha was on her menses so that he didn’t violate the provisions of Qur’an sura 2:222. Which, of course, makes Aisha’s statement that “None of you could control his sexual desires as the Prophet could” just absolutely laughable.
Obviously, Muhammad didn’t care whether or not fulfilling his perverted sexual desires meant that he would break the commandments that he claimed were given to him by Allah.
There are many more examples of Muhammad’s sexual perversions, but I’m getting sidetracked from the main point:

A little back story to Qur’an sura 4:24 –
The Apostle of Allah (may peace be upon him) sent a military expedition to Awtas on the occasion of the battle of Hunain. They met their enemy and fought with them. They defeated them and took them captives.
Some of the Companions of the Apostle of Allah (may peace be upon him) were reluctant to have intercourse with the female captives in the presence of their husbands who were unbelievers. So Allah, the Exalted, sent down the Qur’anic verse: (See Sura 4:24) “And all married women (are forbidden) unto you save those (captives) whom your right hands possess.” (Abu Dawud 2150)
So, according the Qur’an, allah himself says that it’s okay for Muslims to rape women whom they have captured.
And, of course, Muhammad wasn’t one to quibble with allah when it came to approving predatory sexual perversions:
“O Allah’s Apostle! We get female captives as our share of booty, and we are interested in their prices, what is your opinion about coitus interruptus?” The Prophet said, “Do you really do that? It is better for you not to do it. No soul that which Allah has destined to exist, but will surely come into existence.” (Bukhari 34:432)
In other words, Muhammad gives the go-ahead for his buddies to ejaculate inside of their rape victims instead of wasting time by pulling out.
I can go on and on, but I think you get my point.
Muhammad was a mass-murdering sexual pervert. So, when I hear of a Muslim terrorist killing or raping someone, I know that they are just following the “beautiful pattern of conduct” established by Muhammad

Well Done! Brigitte in the context of animal welfare I agree that islamic fundamentalists are wrong and this they should learn! they are not superior to all humans, those of us who do not consume animals flesh are compassionate humans. We should not and will not be made to bow down to their outworn beliefs and I too do not agree in ritualistic sacrifices of innocent animals.

she was a beautiful woman and has done work to help animal welfare, nonetheless she made some illegal remarks, u wanna call it her opinion which she unquestionably has the right to express, wether it be anti gay or otherwise, nonetheless there are laws to protect all members of the international comunity including muslims immigrants and gays and any person who is against these laws and ideologies (of all ppl living ang getting along in harmony etc)that person is the real ‘radical’ against ‘our comminity’
