“Honor” Killing in Egypt
No, it’s not cultural!
If it didn’t agree with Islam, it simply would not be allowed…

Egyptian farmer hangs, decapitates daughter in ‘honour’ killing
Cairo (DPA) An Egyptian farmer who suspected his 16-year-old daughter was having an affair hanged her and then beheaded her body in the southern province of Bani Soueif, it was reported Sunday. The local daily Al-Akhbar said Abdel-Samad, 46, turned himself to the police after the killing. It said a police investigation showed the father suspected his daughter of having an affair.
So-called honour killings are not unusual in Egypt and other countries of the Middle East, where families murder female members for having brought “shame” on their name.
Such killings often involve a female member refusing an arranged marriage or having a relationship that the family considers to be inappropriate.

The STOP HONORCIDE! campaign was launched on Mother’s Day 2008. The goal of the campaign is to prosecute honorcides to the fullest extent of the law. We want honorcide to be classified as a hate crime and we advocate for every existing hate crime legislation to be amended to include honorcide.

“HONORCIDE” is a very stupid word, the way it is constructed it only means that you want to kill HONOR nothing else…. Construction of words using Latin radicals should function the way Latin works… We already have uxoricide, homicide, fratricide, matricide, patricide, deicide in which the first part of the word is the object subjected to the action, defined by the second part of the word, in this case, occidere, meaning “to kill”. What you call “honorcide” is in reality what we know as “honor killing” and we don’t need an euphemism or a neologism to bring more confusion about this sordid Mid-Eastern and Muslim tradition…
