Makeshift bombs defused in France

9 Aug, 2008, (AFP) Police defused three makeshift bombs in a busy tourist resort and on a high-speed rail line in the French Basque country, officials said Friday. More than 1,000 tourists were evacuated in the middle of the night from their holiday homes after firefighters received a telephone tip-off alerting them to a total of five explosive devices in the southwestern region.
-It looks like someone with insider knowledge had a change of heart and stopped what could have been serous attack. The warning could cost that person their life when his/her buddies figures out who talked.
