Chinese Censor Coverage of the Olympics During Weightlifting Event!
While everyone is busy talking about the gruesome dislocation of weightlifter Janos Baranyai’s elbow, I have yet to hear anyone take note of how the Chinese already had a group of “blockers” ready to cover up any “unpleasant” or “offensive” incidences.
Now, some may think it’s a petty thing – and the announcer in the following video is actually thankful that the Chinese have come forward and blocked the view! But, if you really think about it, the Chinese are actively engaging in censorship and manipulation of the media in an effort to make themselves look good to the rest of the world…
Yup, same old communist China…
Update: I’m not sure why, but the video seems to be getting blocked… Hmmmm, dare I say “censored???” So, until I can fix it, here is the link to the video on Youtube:

Here’s a thought:
If you were that athlete and busted up your arm on international television, would you want or not want that group of “blockers” providing you with some small amount of privacy while you are in the worst pain of your life?

Malarchuk was an NHL goalie who got kicked in the throat with a skate and started bleeding all over the ice. Apparently, the only thing going through his mind was getting off of the ice because he didn’t want to die on national tv.
Now, was the purpose of this for the Chinese to censor offensive scenes (which happened anyway since the blockers showed up after the fact) or was it for the athlete?
