I believe that ENIAC is generally considered to be first computer in the sense that we think of them. And that was for making artillery more accurate. I guess you could call that “communicating” if you think a 120mm Howitzer is how you reach out and touch someone.

But the debate – OMG, WTF!!! McCain, God bless him, needs to figure out that he is not a Democrat. Instead, he seems damn well determined to outspend Osama Joe Biden, just without the tax increases. Man, Barr is looking better and better. Hell, I find myself wishing it was 1996 and Clinton vs Dole. At least then, I could figure out which person was a conservative, and not just who is the bigger f*cking liberal.
