Israeli police say Palestinian killed trying to set gas station alight

A Palestinian man was killed on Thursday by Israeli police as he was trying to set fire to a petrol station at a Jewish settlement in the occupied West Bank, police said.
“Police officers saw a suspect trying to set fire to the station at Michor Adumim,” spokesman Micky Rosenfeld told AFP. “The police fired warning shots, but he ran toward them and they killed him.”
A second Palestinian was seriously wounded in clashes with Israeli soldiers at Yatta near the West Bank town of Hebron. Medical sources said a bullet hit him in the face.
The incidents came on the 13th day of Israel’s war against the Islamist Hamas in the Gaza Strip, which has sparked widespread anger in the Muslim world amid a mounting civilian death toll.
More than 760 Palestinians have been killed since Israel launched its offensive on December 27, Gaza medics say.
