So we go from Constitutional Republic to what? Monarcy? Oligarchy? or just a straight dictatorship?
Something tells me permanent re-election for Obama might dramnatically shorten his life expectancy….the Presidency does take a tremendous toll. Bush looks like he has aged 25 years in the last 8.

Invoking Lincoln and Jefferson but not accurately. I think they knew what they were doing, and what they did looks like it is about to be undone
People have short memories, and the media is doing its best to erase them asap.

This would still require ratification of 36 states, right?
Apparently, this idea of repealing the 22nd Amendment has been around since 2005…so we have Bush to thank for yet another erosion of the Constitution. I appreciate that he has prevented another terrorist attack, but I think I’d rather be less safe and more free. At this point, I’m not that worried about the Islamofascists; I’m worried about the Socialists/Communists running our country.
You might find this interesting. The Heritage Foundation’s 2009 Index of Economic Freedom report on the US. Some of these factors are going to plummet dramatically in 2010, and the trends you can extrapolate from it are troubling indeed.

“No king but King Jesus.” Slogan of the War for Independence, among other things. Works for me because it is much better than a human king any day. If the 22nd amendment is repealed that is exacly what we will have, a king instead of a president. A king who just might be worse than the kings our forefathers fled from all those years ago. How sad that people (not all) do not want to remember and or have not been taught what things were like for our forefathers before they (with God at the helm) founded America.
Terms limits on all elected officials is one thing we need. That way no one person or a handful of people end up running the show so to speak.

If anything, there are senators and congressmen whose absence long ago would have done our country more good than harm – I say we SHORTEN term limits, and let the people decide if a politician is WORTHY of continuing in office.

First; Many thanks Doc B for your tireless efforts and extreme insights into the current and crucial issues which we all find so troubling. You have a great talent for cutting through the blur and BS that is so often used to disguise the truth, and we are all truly thankful and appreciative for your diligence. This posting is yet another example of your brilliance and accuracy, and we are all made better informed and aware because of it.
Well before the election, I think I expressed my concerns about the 22nd Amendment being repealed in comments I made on this blog (I think it was on this blog under the article about BHO being a pathological narccicist? Doc B, is there any way to search previous comments here? ) Based on the excellent article/profile written by Dr. Ali Sina (Which I first read here thanks to Doc B ) it makes perfect sense that BHO and his insane ilk would attempt to repeal the 22nd Amendment in order to remain in power indefinitely, and ultimately destroy the entire Constitution and move our country into a “One World Government” system while placing himself (BHO) as the “Supreme Leader”.
In his Nov. 4, 2008 acceptence speach BHO stated: “The road ahead will be long. Our climb will be steep. We may not get there in one year or even one term, but America – I have never been more hopeful than I am tonight that we will get there. I promise you – we as a people will get there”.
I firmly believe this was an ominous and devious implication that BHO has from the start, intended to strike down the 22nd Amendment and persue his grandiose plans to “rule the world”. Again, this kind of delusional self-image fits perfectly with the pscychological profile provided by Dr. Sina. Add to this the enormous hype and blind following of the MSM, and the mindless support of the leftwing lunatics amongst us, and we have the makings of a true disaster.
Our entire political and governmental system has been infiltrated by, and populated with actual Socialists for a long time now. They have succeeded in corrupting and manipulating our Constitution and Laws many times over and this was not an accident. The Socialist platform well knows they would never be able to overthrow this nation by force, and they set out long ago to subvert the government and the minds of the weak by deviously obtaining positions of power and influence within the government and the public ranks. What we are witnessing now is merely the culmination of plans put into play long ago.
Regarding AZ’s question about this bill requiring approval/ratification by the 36 States; Keep in mind that numerous previous “bills” and alterations of the Constitution and the existing Laws have been successfully accomplished without the approval/ratification of the people, nor the traditional processes of government as required by law. This has become a routine practice and is more often used than not these days. As a recent example, I offer the passing of a new “law” which requires all cigarette manufacturers to now produce what is known as a “Fire Safety Code Compliant” product. Without the knowledge of, muchless the approval of the people, the Senate backdoored this rediculous “law” under the guise of “preventing fires caused by smokers” . Those of you who are smokers, have you noticed that your cigs will NOT stay lit now? This is caused by the required use of “bonded paper” and chemical additives which are now required by law. A “fire proof” cigarette? Do any of us really believe this new law was implemented out of concern for the “safety of the public”? Or is it really more likely this is yet another attack on smokers from the leftwing lunatics who believe they can/should impose THEIR will and ideals on anyone who doesn’t agree with them? I think we all know the answer.
Of greater concern regarding ways that our Constitution and Laws have and are being changed/altered by devious and illegal means is; BHO’s appointment of Eric Holder as Attorney General. Holder specializes in circumventing and otherwise by-passing the Constitution and existing Laws and has built his entire carreer on this particular “skill”. I firmly believe this is EXACTLY why BHO chose Holder and he fully intends to put Holders “skills” to full use.
Like many of you, I can clearly see “the writing on the wall” and I fear that our legitimate and substantiated fears are considerably less than they should be in reality. The inumerable fears and concerns of what has happened, and will yet happen to our nation, are both justified and horrific.
For me, the question becomes; What are We The People….. going to do about it?

I second the appreciation for DoctorB and Ronin’s efforts. They, and people like them, are the bedrock upon which the Republic truly stands, and in that, I am optimistic.
You are right about the deliberate and long-term subversion of the Constitution, of course. I’m under no illusions that they won’t ram through whatever they want and have their pet Justices proclaim it legal. But we have to have a reason to force our states into fighting the fed’s collectivist insanity, and imposing a Constitutional Amendment on us is a bit different than imposing other laws. (Yeah, I know: they did it with the 16th Amendment).
Like I said, the states are the best tool to fight the fed, and we must start pressing them to do so. Many state legislators in AZ are hopping mad about some of the plans they are aware of and scared to death just like we are. I’m sure that’s true of most states….even with the infiltration by Socialists, there are plenty of patriots too.
If citizens ended up having to fight this without benefit of the state’s support (theoretically, of course), IMHO, our chances of success are reduced and our losses will be much greater.
Whatever way this goes, the future holds interesting times.

Thanks Doc B for taking the time to search my previous comments, I really do appreciate it. I wasn’t sure I had posted that comment on your blog but thanks again for confirming it. I sincerely hope the 22nd Amendment isn’t threatened but at this point, I wouldn’t be suprised by anything BHO and the lefties do.
AZ, I fully agree that our best option is to press the States and our Representatives, I also agree that there are many true Patriots amongst us and the members of this blog are perfect examples of that fact. It is truly reassuring to know that there are still lots of good people in this country who recognize the insanity of the left and do all they can to preserve and protect the Constitution and country that we all cherish so much.
After re-reading some of my previous comments, I feel like I should apologize for my seemingly “negative/pesimistic” tone. I’m really not as “gloom and doom” as some of my comments may imply. While I do see much that causes me dismay, I do still feel very thankful to live in the USA and recognize that there still are many good Americans that inspire hope and promise of better days. Again, the members of this blog are perfect examples. I do tend to come on a lil’ strong in my views but, I’m really not nearly as negative as I may seem to be at times.
