POMPANO BEACH – Two good Samaritans — including one with a concealed weapons permit — helped foil a would-be robber’s heist Friday, then held the suspect at gunpoint until deputies arrived, authorities said.
Officials say Fabrizzio Aragon Sandoval, 21, of Miami, staked out a business in the 3000 block of the Andrews Avenue Extension, waiting in his four-door Jeep for Walib Hamed Hamad, 48, of Boca Raton.
As soon as Hamad left that business’ parking lot, Sandoval drove up to Hamad’s vehicle and cut him off at a stop sign, officials said. He pointed a gun at Hamad and demanded cash.
But in his rush to pull off the heist, authorities say Sandoval forgot to put the Jeep in park — it rolled into two cars. It caught the attention of employees and customers at I C Realtime Security Solutions, a security equipment business.
Frank Fishman, the business’ vice president of sales, and one of the store’s customers, Everol Moulton, 37, of Miami Gardens, rushed to Hamad’s aid, but not before Moulton grabbed a handgun from his car.
The two chased Sandoval then held him until deputies arrived.
