The Myth of the 90%
A little ammunition to use against the anti-gun Libtards:
Do 90% of Mexican ‘crime guns’ come from U.S.?
David Codrea – examiner
Before I get into today’s column, I’d like to make a few more observations about yesterday’s.
Hopefully, it’s clear to all that the three interdiction stops referred to in the ATF “Operation Southbound Steel” intelligence advisory information request were conducted by local law enforcement (specifically by the Pearl River and Jackson County Sheriff’s departments, and the Gulfport PD). So it’s not like the intrepid feds with their expanded Project Gunrunner budget are doing anything other than acting as a news aggregator here.
As one of my sources observed to me:
This is not the result of an ongoing federal investigation, it’s BATF piggybacking on local cops…what is not being seized in Miss., they aren’t seizing RPGs, grenades and Class III Military ARs and AKs. The point is that the military guns aren’t coming from here. They come from Venezuela, Colombia, Cuba, Israel, Brazil and China…
That the cartels are getting military grade weapons from non-U.S. sources is borne out by journalists doing their own investigation instead of relying on government agencies for their talking points:
Most of these weapons are being smuggled from Central American countries or by sea, eluding U.S. and Mexican monitors who are focused on the smuggling of semiauto- matic and conventional weapons purchased from dealers in the U.S. border states of Texas, New Mexico, Arizona and California.
Which brings us to one “reporter” who does parrot talking points, Matthew Price of BBC News, who “authoritatively” tells his readers:
It is estimated that at least 90% of the guns used by the Mexican drug trafficking organisations have come from the US.

As I have pointed out a few times; the enforcement of any government attempt to confiscate our guns will come from law enforcement and not the active military. The police forces know that many law abiding, never broke a law or even considered it, gun-owning conservatives will use force to defend their constitutional right to bare arms.
The way I see this playing out is after a few extreme “emergency” laws and “mandatory punishments” fail to confiscate more than a smattering of the existing weapons an attempt will be made to “enforce the law” meaning the new emergency gun confiscation laws. That will start a brief but extremely violent war. Remember the military owes allegiance to the constitution, the police to existing law. Troops will be forced to choose a side and will have to decide to follow orders or head home to protect their family from an out of control government, I can already tell you which path most will pick.
Armed and determined Americans will start by defending their homes from police and later will form “neighborhood defense” groups making short work of poorly trained and massively outnumbered police. Criminals will throw in with the gun owners but will broaden the fight to sniping, burning government facilities and general razing hell. Armed groups, Gangs and criminals will violently seize and protect territory.
Crime will uncontrollable except in community-defended areas. Cities will scream for police protection that will no longer exist or will just be used to defend infrastructure targets. Every group with a cause will ally against anything remotely smelling like government and any politician with a brain will permanently leave the USA, most will not make it.
Community by community-armed men will secure order, new laws and punishments will be made and the slow process to rebuild will be started, made easier by confiscation of abandoned property formally owned by liberals and unprepared victims that fell quickly to armed criminals.
What of the rest of the world? America’s enemies will celebrate until a realization that the global economy requires a strong and prosperous America. With no working U.S. government you have no international aid, no trade, no humanitarian assistance. Not even food will flow. The sea-lanes will no longer have a U.S. Navy to protect them making international sea trade impossible. Governments will fall on a scale never before seen. Cities unable to trade will quickly run out of basic necessities and will be destroyed by violence. Groups will form to protect areas based on religious or ethnic groups; non-members will fight or die. No nation state will survive unscathed and no existing political structure will survive, money will be useless, as barter will replace currency. Unskilled workers will be cast out to fend for themselves as best they can. No aid, no charity and no chance.
In the end, I think it will be worth it.

Sounds well thought out and accurate. Unless and until some folk with some sense get hold of enough sway to make enough noise by the skin of their teeth, what you have descripted wil probably be what is.
That is probably why ammo and the like are getting scarce as hen’s teeth.

I’m glad you found this article worth presenting and discussing, and appreciate the linkage. But I get paid by Examiner for visits to my column on their site, and if you repro the entire column here, there’s not much point in people going over to it.
It’s one of the ways I feed my family.
Could you please just include a teaser paragraph or two, with a link to the article, instead of posting the whole thing here?
Thanks

No problem. Let me know if you need me to cut any more out of the teaser.
P.S. – Enjoy your column. I read it almost every day.
Cheers

Thanks for shedding some light on this subject. I’ve takent he time to read so of the reports, and I disgusts me that agencies like the “C”artoon “N”ews “N”etwork only headlines the typical liberal minded viewpoint when it comes to guns. I guess the fact that only about 17% of the guns that were siezed were what you could call “commercial” grade weapons, and the rest were “military” grade weapons is irrelevant?
People fail to realize that if and when this administration is succesful in disarming the civilian populus, true socialism will take hold.
