Glenn Beck: Teen punks murder American hero’s dog

April 6, 2009 – 12:12 ET

CALLER: Hey, Glenn, thanks for taking my call. I just wanted to know, Friday you asked us to pray for Marcus and I was just seeing if you had an update today on what’s going on with him.

GLENN: Yes, I do. Yes, I do. Marcus Luttrell is the lone survivor. He was part of the SEAL team. It was the biggest battle any SEAL in SEAL history. He was the only survivor. He lost his whole team. He was then taken by Al Qaeda and the Taliban and he was tortured beyond your wildest imagination and there they held him for a while. He’s been sick. He still hasn’t recovered from all of the things that they did to him and so he just has he’s always in for his back and surgery and everything else.

On Thursday I believe it was, Wednesday or Thursday about 1:00 a.m., Marcus is a guy who doesn’t sleep anymore at night. He sleeps during the daytime. And about 1:00 he happened to be awake and he heard a gunshot. He lives on a ranch with his mother in Texas. He grabs his gun and he goes outside. There he sees, I believe it was four. It may be three but I believe it was four young men 18 to 24 years old, all of them, where they had just shot his dog. Marcus’ dog is named Dasy. Each letter represents D A S Y represents one of the fallen members of his team. It was given to him in recovery to help him through the recovery process. This dog means everything to Marcus. Marcus had his gun and he took it out and he put it right between the eyes of one of the guys. He was standing away from them, pointed right between the eyes. Now, here’s a SEAL team member who is wildly, he’s just, he is having trouble, man. He is still recovering from his injuries. He had just gotten out of surgery. He’s standing there with a gun between the guy’s eyes. He doesn’t fire. All four and he’s just saying, “You killed my dog.” They executed his dog. “You killed my dog. Why would you do that?” They run. They get into his car. Marcus gets into his truck, chases them over four counties, finally runs them into a ditch. He calls the Rangers. The Texas Rangers arrive and these guys, when the Texas Rangers are taking these guys away, Marcus has held them there by a gun. As the Rangers are taking these guys away, they’re threatening Marcus’ life and saying, “When we get out, we’re coming for you next. First it was your dog. It’s going to be you next. You don’t know who you’re messin’ with.” That’s when Marcus kind of snapped just a little bit and said to the Ranger, “Excuse me, ranger, do you know who I am?” He said, “Yes, sir, Mr. Luttrell, I do.” He said, “You might want to explain to these punks because I could have killed them 600 different ways and if I wanted to kill you guys after what you would have done what you just did to my dog, I would have pulled you down into my basement and I would have tortured you for days and you wouldn’t have died until you begged me for death. So before you start saying you’re going to come after me, you better learn who you’ve just whose dog you just killed.”

They get into jail. These four punks have been killing dogs in Marcus’ county now for a month, for joys, joy rides and kicks. Tonight Marcus is going to be on television and he’s going to tell the story, and I’m showing the pictures of these dirtbags. And I want you to call PETA, I want you to call every activist you know. I want you to hear the story of a hero whose dog was executed. In all of the times that everybody is saying, oh, guns gotta be taken off the streets, you gun nuts. Here’s a responsible gun owner that with everything he’s gone through, everything that that dog means, these dirtbags come and kill his dog. He could have killed them all. He probably would have enjoyed it, justifiably so and he didn’t because he’s an American hero. Keep him in your prayers.

  2. Leatherneck Says:

Goodness. Those punks read like they are from a secular humanist school of spoil the child. Standing on the street corner, smoking dope, and bad mouthing their country.

  3. Midnight Rider Says:

    Thankee Dr. B.

  4. Gramfan Says:

I just saw it. (Was on the dvr).
Truly disgusting, heartless and cruel to the dog and
    Marcus Luttrell.
I hope they all get caught and that PETA actually does something useful here, just for a change.

    • Akira Says:

But as a Muslim, don’t you dislike dogs anyway?

      • Leatherneck Says:

Is that Sarc, or is someone a moon god worshiper? Please tell me it is a Sarc thing.

        Over.

            This comment is for you.

            Akira can’t help himself.

He’s heavily into slander/libel and other forms of sensationalism.
            Very “tabloid” actually.

He loves to make an idiot of himself so let him go for it.

He doesn’t need any help from others as he can manage it by himself quite well.

Lying seems to appeal to him and as he claims to be an avowed ‘Christian” – a claim I strongly doubt – he has broken one of the 10 Commandments.

            Weird, I know.

He gets his kicks from trolling so why should we spoil his fun?

Now he is also into internet stalking.
            “Whatever floats your boat”.

He has lost his credibility and is on my “ignore list”.

BTW I love dogs. I have owned a couple of German Shepherds and others breeds.
Please make up your own mind.

Gramfan is a contributor to MASH blog; not a Muslim. Akira is a _______who hates Muslims and Jews. First he blames MASH for being Muslims; then he claims that MASH is run by the Jews. But what can you expect from a _____?

Watch the “F” bombs and personal attacks.

If Gramfan wants you to defend her, she will ask.

          • Akira Says:

I never said it was run by Jews. I said it’s run by Zionists, which is a fact. Bizarre Zionists who pretend to be Muslims and support Jihad and Sharia in Russia. It takes all kinds to make a fruitcake I guess.

            Stupid assholes post removed.

          • Gramfan Says:

I am glad reformislam has told the truth about my situation on the MASH ‘blog.
It’s not just defence, it’s about facts that matter, even though some people can’t grasp them.

Getting back to the topic at hand it seems, according to Glenn Beck’s newsletter:

“Despite Glenn being the only major media outlet to even bother reporting on the murder of Lone Survivor Marcus Luttrell’s dog Dasy, with the help of PETA and law enforcement enough heat was put on that large dirt bag that he turned himself in. Updates on that story and much more tonight at 5pm only on The Fox News Channel”

            This is good news!

I am very patriotic and it drives me crazy to see the disrespect in this Country.

  8. Akira Says:

I must be too literal minded. I had thought that a member of a group called “Muslims Against Sharia” hat believes that “Islam is Peace, Light, Love” and that promotes Jihad and Sharia in Russia must be by definition a Muslim.

  9. Akira Says:

Re: “He’s heavily into slander/libel … Lying seems to appeal to him – he has broken one of the 10 Commandments.”

You have some examples of slander, libel, and lies?

What I am referring to is this:
    http://muslimsagainstsharia.blogspot.com/

I support this site, and many others, as it is essentially an anti-Islamist site.

There are several non-Muslim supporters and followers.
I am just one of them.

    • will the islamaphobe Says:

Ok I have read thru that site before.

I can appreciate muslims recognizing that sharia has an unfair advantage over non muslims.

I truly hope they change sooner!

  11. Akira Says:

As you can see, Will, the motto of Gramfan’s lunatic “Muslims Against Sharia” (i.e. Saddam Hussein, Ataturk the Mighty Christian Killer, Idi Amin, the Assads, etc) is “Islam is “Peace, Light, Love”. So obviously it’s a Dawah and Jihad site.

    http://brianakira.wordpress.com/2009/03/16/zionist-muslims-against-sharia/

  12. Akira Says:

You see, Will the Islamophobe, according to Muslims like Gramfan and MASH, the problem with you is your ignorance. According to them, there’s nothing wrong with Islam, just ignorance of people like you who can’t appreciate how wonderful Islam is.

“Islam is NOT the Enemy; Ignorance Is!”

    http://muslimsagainstsharia.blogspot.com/2007/10/islam-is-not-enemy-ignorance-is_08.html

You must repeat 100 times: Islam is NOT the Enemy Islam is NOT the Enemy Islam is NOT the Enemy Islam is NOT the Enemy Islam is NOT the Enemy Islam is NOT the Enemy Islam is NOT the Enemy Islam is NOT the Enemy Islam is NOT the Enemy …

    • will the islamaphobe Says:

      akira

Muslims as people arent my enemy its the jihadists or mujahedeen who are the enemy of both muslims and non muslims.

Muslim debators on this website have constantly called us non muslims ignorant of thier quran, hadiths etc. However like most islamic ciritcs I have read the quran cover to cover as well as many hadiths.

The problem isnt ignorance but distrust of islam as a system.

      • Ronin Says:

If sharia was the only problem with islam that would be one thing but reality is islam was founded by a criminal with extreme sexual perversions. Its entire history is one of abuse toward believers and non-believers alike. Sharia was used to justify the abuse. It is impossible to separate sharia from islam just as it is impossible to rediscover or rewrite the history of islam to clean up its image. I honestly do not understand how anyone can claim the title of “muslim” and show his or her face in public. Muslim’s should be ashamed to identify with the most violent cult in human history.

Sharia is just a part of islam but an important part blessed by a madman and cemented into the ideology, to deny sharia denies mohammed. Admitting the crimes of mohammed and vowing to never repeat them should be the first step toward reforming islam.

      • Akira Says:

“the jihadists or mujahedeen are the enemy of muslims”

So you mean a person can be a Muslim without wanting Jihad? So you mean there’s nothing wrong with Islam per se, it’s just the “extremists” that are the problem? So you support Islam, and are in fact an Islamophile.

  13. Akira Says:

“Muslims Against Sharia” also believe that Christians should be put to death:

    Here’s from their “Manifesto”:

“Any person should be able to freely practice any religion as long as the practice does not interfere with the local laws.”

Obviously the local laws in Afghanistan and Sowdi (the US’s wonderful allies) call for the death penalty for Christians, so “Muslims Against Sharia” must agree.

  14. Gramfan Says:

Well,,it’s already Good Friday here, so I’d like to wish everyone a Happy Easter.

Things have changed a lot here. No more church bells, and no doubt the local casino will be open as usual, while some head off to a BBQ, or the football match.

On a related note, I feel there is an enemy in Washington who, right now, deserves quite a bit of attention. Articles like this are everywhere on the ‘net.

    http://www.amilimani.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=138&Itemid=2

Also, I have a question re the Constitution.
I was discussing it with a barrister here at dinner, and he says he studied the Constitution while doing his degree.

He claims that US citizens don’t have the right to bear arms unless they form a a posse. I countered this by saying that ultimately it still puts weapons in peoples’ hands as they could easily form posses or militia groups. Does anyone know if he is right?

According to the article I posted it seems Obama has definitely stimulated the guns and munitions sector.
Not quite what the ‘stimulus’ package was supposed to do.

    • Gramfan,

      Your barrister is wrong.

      Here’s the text:

“A well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the People to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.”

A militia is a group of citizens in a state who band together to protect the United States from enemies foreign and domestic. A state militia would be your barrister’s ad reductum to “posse.”

In order for citizens to be proficient, or, “well regulated,” in using weapons, they must be allowed the freedom to possess and use those weapons.

So, your counter-claim was absolutely correct.

Also, notice that it says, “the right of the People to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.” That portion of the amendment is called the “operative clause.” Whenever the Constitution uses the term “the People,” it always means the individual citizens of the United States; as in the Preamble to the Constitution; “We, the People, of the United States of America.”

That being said, the Second Amendment is not particularly difficult to understand. On the contrary, for more than a hundred years after it was adopted, hardly anyone seemed the least bit confused about what it meant. The confusion, and some serious mistakes, only became widespread in the twentieth century, when influential people began to think it was a good idea to disarm the civilian population.

Because the plain meaning of the Second Amendment obviously creates an obstacle to these disarmament schemes, the anti-gun left continues to focus on obfuscating and re-defining the “well regulated militia” portion of the text, while completely ignoring the “operative clause” which clearly states that the “right of the People” to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed upon.

So, to win the argument with your barrister, tell him it doesn’t matter if the people form a “posse” or not, because the Bill of Rights (the first ten Amendments to the Constitution) clearly states that the government cannot infringe upon the right of its citizens to own and use weapons.

In fact, the Supreme Court just recently upheld the right of the People to keep and bear arms when they over-turned the Washington D.C. ban on guns. (District of Columbia v. Heller).

If the 2nd Amendment was only concerned about a “posse,” then, most certainly, the Supreme Court would have ruled differently.

So, the recent Supreme Court ruling proves that your barrister is misinterpreting the 2nd Amendment.

      Cheers

      • Gramfan Says:

        Thanks, Doc :)

I thought I had him flummoxed. He was splitting hairs about the “posse/militia” question. That was the crux of his argument.

The conversation actually started about the NRA and Charlton Heston. Naturally the barrister hates guns, but again was caught out when I said all criminals seem to have them. He agreed that this was the case.

It’s unlikely I will see him again, but I am glad I was right.

        • Glad I could help. It’s a shame that you probably won’t see your barrister again. Using the Supreme Court’s ruling in the “District of Columbia v. Heller” case would have been the coup de grâce to a well argued debate.

          Cheers

          • Gramfan Says:

I’m quite content to have been right, Doc!

(Had I had my laptop on me I would have emailed you then and there.)

Then again, my husband sees him from time to time so he may still get a chance to correct him as he was also part of the conversation.

      Happy Easter Gramfan

      http://www.amilimani.com/index.php

I love alot of his articles he has some good ones!

    • azcIII Says:

      Hi Gramfan,
Happy Easter to you as well. May it be aday of peace and reflection.

You might also point out to your barrister that state constitutions usually define their “militias”. Arizona, for example, defines all able-bodied citizens between the ages of 18-45 as members of the AZ militia. So technically, I am an AZ state militia member subject to the Governor’s authority. I don’t know how many other states have this kind of provision, but I’m sure most do.

      • Gramfan Says:

        will the islamaphobe and azcIII,

        Thank you both :)
(I wasn’t able to get out of my chores, lol! Maybe more time for peace and reflection later).

I am most interested in what the Constitution says and glad people know it so well. I think I will be able to get the reply out to the barrister.

Most of our top barristers here are all left-wing. No surprises. This has been deliberate policy by the states.

The more I read the more I realize the Founding Fathers make today’s leaders look like mental midgets.

A friend in CA just sent me this site.
I’m going to keep an eye on it:
        http://www.theobamafile.com/ObamaLatest.htm

  15. Doc' Says:

“The militia of the United States consists of all able-bodied males at least 17 years of age and, except as provided in section 313 of title 32, under 45 years of age who are, or who have made a declaration of intention to become, citizens of the United States and of female citizens of the United States who are members of the National Guard.”

-Title 10, Section 311 of the U.S. Code.
