A Dallas woman shot and killed a man who forced his way into an apartment.

Residents noticed the unfamiliar man wandering around the Leigh Ann Apartments on Leigh Ann Drive in South Oak Cliff earlier in the day.

According to reports, the man banged on the door of the upstairs apartment and tried to force his way inside.

One of the two women inside the apartment had a gun and shot at the man.

He was shot in the chest and stumbled out of the apartment and down the stairs.

He collapsed in a courtyard and taken to a hospital, where he later died.

The woman told police they had not seen the man before and didn’t know who he was.

Witnesses told police when they saw the man he appeared intoxicated.

Police also said a child was inside the apartment. Neither the child nor the two women were hurt.

Officials said the case will be referred to a grand jury, but police believe at this point, they do not expect any charges to be filed.
