Media Massively Under-Reporting Numbers at Tea Parties!
Alright, now I’m REALLY pissed! I’ve been reading various newspapers and watching CNN’s reporting on the Tea Parties yesterday, and they always seem to report the number of demonstrators as “hundreds.”
That’s just pure BULLSHIT!!!!!!!!!
In St. Louis, we had, by the most conservative of my estimates imaginable, well over 5,000 protesters in attendance. In fact, some bloggers are reporting 10,000+. Yet, that doesn’t stop the St. Louis Post dispatch from completely ignoring any numbers whatsoever! They merely mentioned that there were a few hundred protests throughout the country and completely skip over any crowd count. In the past, at any crowd orientated event, they have fallen all over themselves to mention the crowd count – Over 100,000 for Obama in St. Louis, 10,000 for Sarah Palin, 1000+ at the February Tea Party down by the Arch, etc.
So, why are newspapers and the MSM misreporting the massive numbers?
Because they’re frackin’ scared spitless, that’s why!!!

I have had it with this crap. These media rats are using their small part of the first amendment as a tool to spread lies and smear Americans. Enough, start monitoring these stations to find our who is advertising on them and then never ever buy anything from these companies again. I doesn’t matter if they come around apologizing to us later the damage has been done. Put em out of business once and for all.

Be advised that they will only become angrier as they lose their jobs. This stuff is just getting going.

I was not able to take pictures of the Houston rally due to camera issues, but I can tell you that so many people showed up that the police had to set up barricades to top more people from entering Jones Plaza.
Here is a link to a few pics. (notice the last picture is a couple of counter-protesters.. of which there were very few) http://lonestartimes.com/2009/04/16/downtown-houston-tea-party/
A basher on the Chron web site stated that a few thousand = a failure for a city the size of Houston. I disagree as the rallies were held in almost every community that makes up the Greater Houston area. I believe there were 15 separate rallies around the Metro area.
The media here is reporting about 4,000, but we feel it was at least double that number. Thousands of people could not even get in.

Most websites are calculating the Houston turn out to be about 10 to 15 thousand.
That’s certainly more than a “few thousand!”
Success!!!!!!!!!!!!

I watched a CNN female reporter ask a question, then interrupted the guy she asked. Quickly, she turned to the camera and said the whole thing was Anti-Obama, and conservative.
She acted like the classic liberal who was getting an answer she did not agree with. CNN will continue to lose customers, as well as the rest of the MSM.
It was good to see so many Americans out in force. Just think how many more are out there that were working, and feeling the same way.
Go USA!

Tuscaloosa, AL – about 1500, estimated by the organizers
On the other hand, the local newspaper cited “hundreds” a nicely vague number. The article, speaking of other rallies in the state, goes on to say, “In Alabama, Montgomery had more than 1,000 people and Mobile had several hundred.” Somewhat different than your numbers for AL.
To the credit of the Tuscaloosa News, they do just report, there’s not much editorializing in the article.

No one that follows the MSM expected them to be accurate. Now the question is what we do about it. Once those idiots in the MSM realize all the protesters went home and watched the (lack of) news they will notice advertising and customers walking in large numbers, I bet they count them then.

So we go up and over them, around them, and they become the useless media, like newspapers and magazines are fast becoming. We continue to do what we’re doing now, blogging, meeting, gathering, and making noise. Whether they report about us accurately becomes irrelevant as we gather momentum. They lose viewers, readers, and ratings just by their sheer refusal to report honestly. It’s happening as we speak. You’re right–they ARE scared spitless, and it’s becoming more obvious each day.
