OTTAWA — A man charged in the “honour killing” of his sister and her lover has been convicted of their murders.
-Renaming these murders does not change them or explain them away.

A jury found Hasibullah Sadiqi guilty of two counts of first degree murder Saturday morning.
-Add three more wasted lives to islams total of hundreds of millions.

The decision carries an automatic sentence of life imprisonment without the possibility of parole for 25 years.
-He got off lightly in my view.

Sadiqi was on trial facing allegations he shot his sister, Khatera, and her fiance, Feroz Mangal, in a planned and deliberate fashion driven by outrage over the couple’s engagement.

Earlier this week Mark Moors, an assistant Crown attorney on the case, characterized the killings as “two murders committed for the sole purpose of restoring the family’s reputation and respect in the Afghan community.”

Khatera refused to have her father involved in the engagement and moved in with Mangal’s family before marriage.
-We will never know the issue between father and daughter but I’m guessing he was a typical overbearing muslim male and treated her as property.

Khatera was found dead of a gunshot to the head on Sept. 19, 2006. Mangal, died about two weeks later in hospital from gunshot wounds.

Testifying last week, Sadiqi told court about a tense exchange between himself, his sister and Mangal moments before he shot them both.

The three had been out for dinner and a movie with friends, and Sadiqi said he was trying to speak to their father — from whom she was estranged — about her marriage plans.

He said he had hoped Mangal, as “an Afghani guy too and as a man,” would take his side and back him up, but instead, he stuck up for Khatera.

Sadiqi said he tried to persuade his sister that their family needed unity around the engagement time, but the couple was being “hard-headed.”
-Meaning those chose to toss off the shackles of islamic tradition and chart their own course.

Frustrated, Sadiqi eventually left the car and gave a dismissive wave, he testified.

Then, he said, Mangal spoke. “He said, ‘F– you, f– your father, f– your sister. I’ll bring your sister’s dead body to the wedding before I ever let her talk to your father. F– you,” Sadiqi told the court.
-Yeah well he is F-ed now, isn’t he?

“Right there, I just exploded,” Sadiqi said. “I felt like a thunderbolt hit my head, like I got shot, like someone broke a beer bottle on my head. Right there, I just lost total control. After that, I don’t know, I don’t remember.
-What a creep, this murderous scum-sucking bastard of mohammed wants to play the victim.

“I remember that everything goes silent. Everything goes silent and my ears — my ear is ringing and I see the gun in my hand and I know something went wrong. I know that something is not right.”
-I think premeditation is clear, he would have killed them no matter what they said or did.

Surveillance video shown to the jury shows flashes — believed to be a gunshots — that start 46 seconds after the car entered the parking lot.
-This is cultural and not islamic (I am saving some muslim apologist the trouble). It is cultural in America, Canada, The UK, Europe, Africa, the middle east etc. Everywhere you find muslims you find this “culture”.
