Note: The author, Sherri Mandell, is perhaps best known as the mother of Koby Mandell, a thirteen year old American boy who was murdered near their home in Israel in May 2001. His body was found in a cave alongside that of his best friend. Both boys had been bludgeoned to death with large rocks the size of bowling balls.
I am the reason there is no world peace

I am the problem. I am the one. The head of the free world referred to me, personally, my family, as the reason for the unrest in the world . With a broom in my hand, trying gamely to clean up the popcorn from my son’s movie party, I am the reason that there is no world peace. Obama handed me the world’s destiny. He told me - ‘if you stop building, stop growing, all will be right in the Middle East. Don’t even think of Iran or Darfur or the honor killing of the women in your region. Your home renovation is the cause of war.’
I am a settler. If I move 8 kilometers to Jerusalem, then I cease being a settler, I suppose. But then I am an Israeli. And that too is a problem.
The peacemakers assure us that if we leave our homes, then there will be peace. And not just peace in Israel and the Palestinian territories. Peace in all of the Arab world. Peace in the entire world. ‘That bully Ahmadinejad, don’t worry about him. Sherri the settler, just leave your house with the blue windows, and the winds of peace will sweep across this world.’
Never mind that before there were settlements, there was a PLO. Never mind that the Palestinians have refused the most generous offers from the Israeli state, including 97 percent of Judea and Samaria as reported in the Washington Post on May 29th. Never mind that there is room for Arabs and Jews in the West Bank and that a Palestinian government that cannot allow Jews to dwell in its borders is a fascist state. Never mind that Israel itself has more than a million Arabs living among us. Never mind.
There is practically nobody more reviled in the world today than a settler. We are seen as gun-toting racists, extremists, parallel to the extremists on the other side. Never mind that it is exceedingly rare for a Jew to be a terrorist. Never mind that those other extremists murder Jewish children like my son Koby with their bare hands just because they are Jews. Never mind that those other extremists send their own children to commit suicide as martyrs. Never mind that those extremists kill their own people by firing squad if they are suspected of being collaborators. Never mind that those extremists oppress their women. Never mind that those extremists are intolerant of homosexuality in their communities.
But it is the settlers who are the problem.
I was on a TV show where a Tel Aviv metropolitan woman referred to me as the ‘cancer of the Jewish people.’ There is nobody so bad and evil as a settler. We are the scapegoat of the world. It could be said that we are the Jews of the Jews. We are so convenient an object of hatred.

I was reading some of the comments of Sherri’s blog:
“Fed up american jew, Monday Jul 06, 2009 Its true. And just like Cancer cells you will stay there and multiply, caring nothing for the state of Israel, your host, or of what your actions do to the Palestinians. All you care about is your cheap, stolen land, and about lording the “savages” while taking everything away from them. Cancer is a mild term, and yet so proper. Know that if Israel ceases to exist, it will be because of you, and people like yourself who cared more for their own convenience than for their society and doomed it, and themselves. We are sick of paying the bill for you and looking the other way. ”
Its jihadi, dhimmi morons like this above commentor that are so caught up in protecting thier own lazy asses that they are willing to sell off others freedoms so that they can have ‘peace’. But in reality are traitors to everything brave souls who become Israeli are trying to do.

Yaknow, it seems interesting that for years upon years the Jews keep ending up as the scapegoat for some group of folks’ bitching and whining. The story goes that they’re the root of all that is wrong with ______ (fill in the blank). Might we look back on who the Jews, as a people, represent and consider what their extermination would mean with regard to a spiritual basis.
The extermination of the Jews would put God as a liar. Isn’t that the basis of the original sin: did God really say… Given that there have been a lot of folks over the thousands of years that have attempted and failed in this endeavor, it would seem that to be, at least, sympathetic would go well for both them, the Jews, and us. The Bible, of course, puts it more starkly, Genesis 12:3, “And I will bless those who bless you, and the one who curses you I will curse…” (NAS)
Are there problems with the way that the Israeli government has treated some people? Well, I suppose one could make that statement, bearing in mind that they’ve been dodging suicide bombers, snipers and missiles along the way. Israel as a nation is run by men, they are subject to the same sins and foibles as all men, but that doesn’t discount them as a nation, nor take away their right to exist, defend that existence, or even to grow.
As many have pointed out, Israel is a very productive nation and people, the residents of “palistine” not so much. Unless one sees terrorism as a product.

And one day, Jesus will return and every tongue will confess and every knee will bow. And He will get His people. Then the battle in Meddigo will be fought and blood will run as deep as the bridles on the horses. The Jews will be avenged, literally, by God Almighty.
God gave them that land when He deeded it to Abraham. It then went to Isaac, not Ischmal. As PB in AL quoted well, we are to bless Israel if we wish to be blesses. Since our POTUS has begun cursing Israel, we are receiving our curses.
The Jews are God’s chosen. Through Paul, His grace from His son Jesus was extended to us Gentiles. All throught the Old Testament, the Jews were married to others like Ruth, who told Naomi that her God would be Ruth’s own as well.
America has been pushing God away. There are a few of us who “cling to our Bibles and our guns” and but for the few of us, God would probably destroy us completely as he did Sodom and Gomorrah.
Let us always support Sherri, the settler and all Jews who hold to their land.
