Senators and Congressmen in Hiding – Don’t Want to Face Public
Wow! This is VERY interesting. It seems that Sen. Harry Reid will NOT be showing up at any Town Halls this summer, but will be phoning it in!
Not only that, but if you continue reading the article past the section I have clipped and posted, you will read about even more of our Representatives who are making any excuse they can to stay away from the public!!!!
It looks like a trend! Blame the Tea Party protesters for the violence Obama’s Thugs caused, and then cite that violence as reason to avoid Town Hall meetings!!!
Harry Reid Will Only Do Town Halls By Telephone, Media Mum

The most powerful man in the Senate, Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.), announced on Friday that as a result of recent protests at town hall meetings he won’t hold any such political gatherings during this month’s Congressional recess.
Instead, he will only do what’s called “telephone town halls” where he and his staff have complete control over the questions being asked and who’s asking them.
Should have been big news, right?
Well, according to LexisNexis and Google news searches, not one major media outlet felt it was important enough to share with the citizenry.
Not one.
Despite the ensuing silence concerning this matter, the Las Vegas Sun broke the following seemingly important story Friday (h/t Terri Green):
A day after holding up a square of Astroturf to denounce the orchestrated attacks on Democratic town hall meetings on health care, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid’s office said he would be talking with his Nevada constituents this month over the phone lines.
Reid’s office is scheduling a telephone town hall meeting for August, opting to avoid the shouting matches and microphone speeches that have erupted at events across the country. The senator expects to reach thousands of Nevadans, including those in the state’s rural expanse.
“It’s a forum that obviously lets us reach more people, but also provides a more respectful environment that allows all sides to be heard,” said Reid spokesman Jon Summers.
“It’s more the dialogue that town halls were meant to be, as opposed to the organized disruption we’re seeing in other town halls,” Summers said. “This is so Nevadans who want to be heard can voice their concern, support and their opinions.”
Once again, from what I can tell, not one major media outlet shared this with the citizenry.

This will not end until they suspend elections altogether. These crooks do not represent us. They have made it very clear we do not have a voice in what happens in our Country.They cause the violence and use it as an excuse to hide and buy new jets. It’s time to put a stop to this and make sure we have term limits as well as do away with their benefits. They work for us, or at least that’s the way it was intended. As far as I’m concerned there will be no compromise. This is no longer about the health disaster they are going to shove down our throats, it’s about reclaiming our Country and Constitution.

Wasn’t it Conyers who whined that he couldn’t possibly be expected to read the bill because of its length and his full schedule? Well, let me suggest that for $178,000 salary, completely covered health care for life, as well as Social Security,and all the zillions of other perks, many would gladly take his place, read ALL bills, and REPRESENT their districts. Step aside, Conyers, and let real people do your job.

This is typical of the leftwing lunatic extremists who wrongly believe they alone are entitled to an oppinion and anyone who opposes them should be silenced by any means possible, including assault as is evident by recent attacks at numerous townhall meetings nationwide. I’m sure we’ll soon see virtually every Congessman/Representative follow suit with this outrageous and UN-Constitutional method of attempting to silence and “control” We The People. In their twisted minds they apparently believe they are still “satisfying” their legal obligation to hear the concerns/complaints of their constituents in the most minimal way possible without literally denying ALL access. In reality, this is nothing less than deliberate suppression designed to enable them to pick & choose only those “callers” whom they determine to be “non-threatening”. Without doubt EVERY “caller” will be pre-screened in advance and only those they feel are least likely to pose any real pertinent questions or challenges will be allowed access. There will be no possibilty of video taping, or recording of any exchanges nor will any of the media be present, (as if any of the lame stream media would actually objectively cover any meetings anyway)Furthermore, I’m sure these so-called “Telephone Townhalls” will be severely limited to no more than 30 – 45 minutes in duration thereby further limiting the 1st Amendment Rights of ALL Americans.
This is not a new method/tactic, the lefturd scumbags have often used this tactic in the past but, this is different in that it is in direct response to the GRASS ROOTS PROTESTS created by MILLIONS of average Americans who are FIGHTING MAD about NOT just the obama socialized “healthcare” monstrousity, but also EVERY other outrageous and UN-Constitutional ATTACK the leftwing lunatic extremists have assaulted We The People with since that dark and sinister day “The Jobama” http://doctorbulldog.files.wordpress.com/2009/08/jobama.jpg took office!
IMO, we are witnessing the early stages of a massive and soon coming REVOLT which will ultimately end with the total disintegration of OUR ONCE GREAT NATION.
I predict that we will soon see violence and meyhem on a grand scale nationwide (both Grass Roots and pre-arranged by the leftwing saboteurs like ACORN & SEIU) which will lead to “The jobama” using The War Powers Act http://www.americanthinker.com/2008/07/obamas_civilian_national_secur.html OR possibly: the National Emergency Powers Act http://www.fpc.state.gov/documents/organization/6216.pdf to justify the formation and deployment of the “Civilian National Defense Forces” he declared was essential during his campaign. (he will also no doubt demand that this process take place IMMEDIATELY and push for rapid implementation exactly like he is trying to do with this “healthcare” BS and every other bill he has tried to rush & cram down our throats)
Since any new “Defense Force” would not necessarily be included under the restrictions of either of the above mentioned Acts, I’m sure “The jobama” and his staff of socialist saboteurs would deliberately exclude his “CNDF” from any laws that would interfere with his plans to suppress and DESTROY any and all “dissenters” who attempt to oppose his commie plans to subvert and eliminate the very FOUNDATION of American Freedom and Principles…The UNITED STATES CONSTITUTION!
Again IMO, we are now witnessing the beginning of a soon coming Civil War which will ultimately result in at the very least, a permanent division of The United States, if not the outright destruction of Our Once Great Nation. I hope I’m completely wrong about all of this….time will tell.

I live in Nevada. On Friday I called the following offices in regards to town hall meetings and the violence that could happen at each asking them to make plans so that does not happen in our state. And I also gave my opinion about how I felt about the HealthCare Bill:
Senator – Harry Reid (D)
Senator – John Ensign (R)
Rep – Shelley Berkley (D)
Rep – Dina Titus (D)
NV Governor – Jim Gibbins (R)
LV Mayor – Oscar Goodman (D)
I did identify myself as a Conservative if they couldn’t figure it out, and the comments I left for each were well received, in fact most of the phone calls lasted from 20-25 minutes. The only exception to this was when I called Reid’s office. The female answering the phone was very dry, very rude, and the phone call lasted approximately 3 minutes.
What a surprise that Reid is going to censor and totally control the content of town halls. Guess who I know I’m returning a call to on Monday.

I still believe that it is a small number of extremists at the heart of this. I still believe that by and large Americans prefer to choose rather than be told what to do. The left will soon need a security force but it will be forced to deployed in leftard areas against leftards themselves. Their side is a fragile coalition of opposing ideals and when their overlords fail to provide them with cell phones TV’s and Ipods all heck is going to break loose. They know it, that’s one big reason we are seeing them getting violent at our protest gatherings, they must have our taxes to keep their renegades on the reservation.
This ends really ugly for leftists, their PCMCBS will soon blow up in their faces. It reminds me of the last line in White Heat, Cody Jarrett, he finally got to the top of the world…and it blew right up in his face.
