DC sniper John Allen Muhammad executed

JARRATT, Va. — The mastermind of the 2002 sniper attacks that killed 10 in the Washington, D.C., region has been executed. A prison spokesman says John Allen Muhammad died by injection at 9:11 p.m. Tuesday at Greensville Correctional Center.

Prison spokesman Larry Traylor says Muhammad had no final words. He says he didn’t hear him utter a word the entire time.

Thanks to the Governor who did not give him a stay of execution. His time was up. Now maybe some (never will be in its entirety) closure can happen with the victim’s families.

I find his time of death to be symbolically ironic.

This guy was a nutjob in many ways. His punishment was well deserved.
He was a contradiction – he was NOI (Naiton of Islam), a heretical-American faith rejected by all other Muslims.
Yet as a NOI, he should not have had any connection nor support for OBL or Sept 11. That tells me a great confusion. His attacking individuals, not uniforms or particular buildings or set targets tells me that the guy was evil and lost it.
No postcards from paradise, he is in the fires.
