Don’t Blame the Military for Ignoring Hasan’s Radical Views, Blame the Politicians and Libtards

Yup, J. Robert Smith pretty much sums up what many of us are thinking:

Blaming the Army for Hasan’s Terrorism
Is the military really to blame for this development, or are politicians the culprits?
November 12, 2009 – Pajamas Media
by J. Robert Smith

Major Nidal Malik Hasan’s deadly terrorist attack last week at Fort Hood is generating plenty of finger pointing at the military for the debacle. While the indignation is understandable, and while the army brass bears a share of the responsibility for Hasan’s terrorism, having the military bear a disproportionate share of the criticism is both unfair and misguided. Doing so plays right into the hands of liberals, who would rather have America’s warriors take the heat.

A good deal of conservative ire has been leveled at the military for adopting political correctness codes. But is the military really to blame for this development, or are the culprits the politicians to whom the military brass reports?

The Constitution makes the military subordinate to civilian command. That’s more than just form, thank goodness. The military obeys the president and follows the laws established by Congress. The Founders wanted the military subordinate to civilian command, for obvious reasons.

Liberals have had great success over the years insinuating political correctness into the very fabric of the national government. They’ve accomplished this not only by using the law and directives or manipulating budgets, but with substantial acts of intimidation. Those who oppose quotas of any sort, for instance, or who make reasonable arguments against special laws and penalties for so-called hate crimes, are vilified as bigots.

The same goes for the military, with the glaring proviso that the president and Congress hold the military’s purse strings entirely. They also have the power to promote or demote, to advance or ruin careers. They run the show.

Given Washington’s de jure and de facto control over the military, it’s no small wonder that Hasan was able to remain in the army and move up the ladder despite giving every indication that his first loyalty lay with the aims of radical Islam.

Again, that’s not to let the army brass off the hook. Regardless of Washington’s legal and practical power, there are moral and ethical imperatives. If officers need to shout it from the rooftops that a fellow officer is hostile to his own nation and, in fact, is a militant for the nation’s enemy, then that must happen, whatever the fallout is to funding or careers. When there are reasonable suspicions that innocent human beings are imperiled — and that was most likely the case given Hasan’s public utterances — then action is unavoidable.

Most of us work in situations that require varying degrees of conformity. We all, to one extent or another, bend to the norms of our work cultures. That’s natural and expected. Organizations simply cannot function if its members are free-wheeling.

That is especially true for each branch of the military. The nation’s armed forces contain highly integrated units with strong hierarchies. Success in war depends on units acting internally, and with other units, as one.

The great ongoing tension in the military, or in any culture, for that matter, is between conformity and the duty to one’s conscience. Conscience should always prevail, but anyone who has faced having to make a choice between conformity and conscience knows it can be  wrenching. And a choice isn’t always going to be as evident as in the case of Major Hasan.

In the aftermath of the Hasan attack, the military’s top brass needs to reiterate to soldiers that doing the right thing — following the dictates of conscience — is a soldier’s overriding duty. It’s in the spirit of a soldier’s code of conduct — specifically, Article VI. It needs to be made obvious, given the current climate and until the infection of political correctness is removed from the armed forces.

And if that raises the president’s hackles or those of congressional members or cabinet secretaries, so be it. Call it the armed forces’ first act of reclaiming the moral high ground. And as Lincoln said about the possible fallout in his stand on principle: “Let the grass grow where it may.”

If the nation doesn’t want a repeat of Fort Hood or other terrorists shooting up malls or neighborhood schools, then a sustained, unapologetic, no-holds-barred campaign needs to be mounted against the authors and defenders of political correctness. It needs to begin with the national government. Certainly, liberals will resort to every nasty epithet and smear they can think of to push back the forces of common sense. They’ll arm-twist and threaten, connive and cajole, but whatever their gambits, they need to be defeated. The nation’s security depends on it.

Liberals would like nothing better than for criticism of the military in the Hasan affair to grow. For liberals, the military is a smart diversion from their own culpability in making the nation less safe through the odious doctrines of political correctness.

    …uh, nevermind.

OT, a bit, but what in the samhill is up with Mayor Bloomberg? This just in on Fox News.com:

New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg welcomed to City Hall an “unindicted co-conspirator” in the 1993 World Trade Center bombing, later claiming he didn’t know the radical Muslim cleric had been invited, the New York Post reported.

Siraj Wahhaj has called the FBI and CIA the “real terrorists,” defended the convicted World Trade Center attack plotters and said his hope is that all Americans will become Muslim

And the message should not be lost. A guvmint trained psychiatrist goes bananas. The guvmint wants to run the entire medical industry. Same thing will happen there only it will go unnoticed. History shows that when Doctors or Nurses kill, they kill and kill again for decades. Fortunately, up until today most doctors and Nurses have not despised us. That could change.

This guy came up through the ranks from the early 90’s. He went to school and got a degree and then became an officer. He then decided to become a psychiatrist. Was he nuts all the way along? What had he been doing for twenty years ME wise? Why did he decide to go into psychiatry? Was his plan to influence the mentally unbalanced by promoting a homicidal rage in them? I don’t believe his jihad came on suddenly I think he has been at it for a long time.

    “Allah Akbar,” ya’ll

NOTE – someone really should tell them what “Akbar” means, LOL.

comedy is nice when appriopriate, some call it a coping methed but in this case it is if anything detracting from the seriousness of the situation.

Like the comments above, about NY and the WTC, most of us in the actual Muslim world are absolultely dumbfounded how radicals, extremists and islamists are allowed to be imamas let alone allowed into the counry. Those associated or who actively support terror are charged with a minimum of sedition. I think US laws need upgrading.

        MORE COMEDY GOLD FROM SOLKHAR

“…most of us in the actual Muslim world are absolultely dumbfounded how radicals, extremists and islamists are allowed to be imamas let alone allowed into the counry.”

LOL, they couldn’t believe their luck!

Ahhh, the “wisdom” of a “religion” in which the fools are the acknowledged leaders, but where the Arab in the street knows the “true beauty” of the koran. (nevermind that in order to join islam, one has to be educated by the imams and mullahs, that’s just a minor technicality).

Don’t worry though, because Solkhar only believes the “peaceful” Koran, which states… “Wage war on non-muslims and kill them until they submit and the only religion is Islam.”

Good thing he doesn’t subscribe to those violent hadiths. LOL!

        Pure Comedy Gold!

      • yonason Says:

Oh, and here’s another of Solkhar’s misconceptions, that Sharia law wasn’t implimented rigorously in all countries. And, the fact is that it isn’t, yet, but it’s biding it’s time.

“…in the context of Sharia law practitioners or courts which operate outside of Muslim or Islamic states but within other jurisdictions, the practice of Sharia law is consistently represented as flexible and reconciliatory in nature; a far cry from the protestations of Muslim jurists in states which are primarily Muslim.”
        http://duhaime.org/LegalDictionary/S/ShariaLaw.aspx

But we are told not to believe anyone unless Solkhar gives his stamp of approval, so wait to see what fatwah he will issue regarding this latest bit of info (more good stuff at that link, IMO).

OleSolkhar is Just Too Funny For Words.

        …….

        and in other news….

“OyeGevalt!” How do you suppose O’Blinko will try to spin (or interfere with) that?!

      • Mullah Lodabullah Says:

The muslim world may feign “dumbfounded”, but in following a religion founded on lies and blasphemies, error simply compounds error, until it crashes like a house of [victim] cards.

  5. Solkhar Says:

LOL, this one must have something stirring in side her/him to start sending posts and then answering them…… but seriously, I have no interest in a fan-club.

I repeat, what is the value of a non-Muslim with an obvious agenda trying to spin a tale to the world of what he/she believes is Islam and then try and tell a Muslim that? Zip.

Only religous leaders are allowed to issue a fatwa – that is why all five schools of jurispudence stated that OBL’s are not to be accepted as fatwas.

    • Mullah Lodabullah Says:

Apparently there is value in a false god and false prophet starting a religion that mocks and blasphemes against God and the Son of God; so much value that it attracts about 1 in 4 of all humans, and sends them to their doom.

Not much in it for the victims, but they are used to playing their “victim cards”, & allah gives them the opportunity to do it for eternity.

      • Solkhar Says:

I wonder if I posted saying that you and your fellow Christians are all condemned for reading a tainted religous book, worshipping a Prophet instead of God and you will all pay for it in Hell – I am 100 per cent certain my posts will be cut and banned.

        • Solkhar Says:

But I never do that, I give respect to people’s faith.

          • CavMom Says:

I don’t have a reply button under your last post… But, I cannot speak for others, only myself. I have never prayed to Mary nor to Jesus. I do however, end my prayers “I ask these things in the name of thy son, Jesus.”

That is not the same as worshiping the son.

I strongly believe in the 1st Commandment: “I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. You shall have no other gods before Me.”

          • Solkhar Says:

That firt commandment is also followed in Islam. There is no other God but God. It is said in Arabic, so you will see there is no other God but Allah, it is the same thing.

Even after a prayer, Muslims will never do so in the name of Mohammed. They will, though, pray for the Prophet’s soul as they will do for those that they love whom have passed away.

        • CavMom Says:

Which Christian group worships a prophet? We follow the guidance of the words of prophets but there is no worshiping. As for who will pay for it in Hell… I prefer to let God be the judge and jury.

I will let the more knowledgeable chime in… But doesn’t your religious book claim that those who are not followers of Islam should be punished in some form or another and that you should act as henchmen, so to speak?

          • Solkhar Says:

Catholics and others are praying to Jesus and even Mary, of which many other Christians and certainly Muslims and Jews consider blasphemy.

As for Islam, some haddiths say all sorts of things and contradict others. The Qur’an, which is the only Book I accept, says that all good Muslims and Jews will stand shoulder to shoulder with good Muslims at the gates of Heaven.

What I am pointing out though is something when it comes to this particular prosthelitizer who constantly bags my faith. If I did the same, how would you all judge my postings – I think I would have my posts cut.

    • Mullah Lodabullah Says:

      Fan club, Solkhar?

Garden club would be more like it, given the amount of “Garden Grunt” you fiction up and post in here and elsewhere where you post your droppings.

Remember the one about Major Hasan being a graduate of the University of South West Texas, with a SoA in psychiatry?

Solkhar / Huntman, trounced by Pamela Gellar. Did you have the stones to apologise? (not kidney stones)

You can have a go at Fox now:

      foxnews.com/story/0,2933,574546,00

Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan called himself a “soldier of Allah” on business cards found in his apartment after the shooting rampage at Fort Hood in which he is accused of murdering 13 people.

      * Garden Grunt mdsdesign.com.au/gg

    • Mullah Lodabullah Says:

Any muslim can become a “soldier of allah” (SoA), and go on a jihad against infidels. No need for any muslim to spin a tale of what SoA and SWT mean, in order to deflect attention from allah to some university in Texas.

You have demonstrated that, Solkhar. Did you have the sanction of “five schools of islam”, or was it all your own work, on your own initiative?

      abcnews.go.com/Blotter/hasan-multiple-mail-accounts-officials/story?id=9065692

Major Hasan: Soldier of Allah; Many Ties to Jihad Web Sites

Officials Say Accused Fort Hood Shooter Used Multiple Hotmail, AOL Accounts for Overseas Contacts

United States Army Major Nidal Hasan proclaimed himself a “soldier of Allah” on private business cards he obtained over the Internet and kept in a box at his apartment near Fort Hood, Texas.

Hmm, Solkhar uses a variety of aliases and personas, with an assortment of email addresses. Is there a connection?

  6. CavMom Says:

I personally hold the passive PC BS festering Government completely responsible for the death of 14 fine Americans. (Yes, I include the life of the unborn child) Had proper action been taken and Hasan removed from the military, this terrorist jihad could have been stopped. The political correctness needs to be changed to Common Sense thinking immediately. Stop coddling people!

  7. Mullah Lodabullah Says:

“What I am pointing out though is something when it comes to this particular prosthelitizer who constantly bags my faith.”

Your “god” attacks my God, his only begotten son, his crucifixion – the very foundations of biblical Christianity.

The followers of your “god” are daily beheading & maiming Christians and others in their service of your “god”, just as Major Nidal Malik Hasan went on his killing spree as a “Soldier of Allah”.

The targets of islam’s war upon the saints and martyrs of Jesus are permitted to respond, even if our battle is not against flesh and blood.

Do you demand unilateral warfare upon the saints?

    Think again, Solkhar.

    • Solkhar Says:

I make no demands, I seek to focus on commonality and shared values, I especially do not abuse for profit.

Thus, rather than bagging Christians in the same fashion that you do, because I consider the Bible tainted and much of its history to be incorrect. I point out that Muslims consider Issa (Jesus) not just a Prophet such as Moses, Abrham or Mohammed, but as special amongst Prophets as God chose Issa to be as Adam, made from sand and returned to it. Add to that, Miriam (Mary) was blessed amongst all humans for she was approached by the Angels and told that God has place a life within her, that He would become a great Prophet.

I do not, as you put it, demand any unlilateral warfare, that is you words and I suspect goal.

Add to that, what daily beheading of Christians? You mean religous-ethnic violence that Muslims do against Christians? Or the Hindus against Christians? Or the Christians against Muslims and Jews?, etc, etc, and avoided by you.

      • Mullah Lodabullah Says:

I am sure you do “seek to focus on commonality and shared values”, Solkhar, just as Saudis promote “interfaith dialogue” while banning churches, bibles and the like.

Biblically, there is no basis for such “commonality and shared values”:

“Can Christ agree with the devil? Can a believer share life with an unbeliever?”
        (2 Corinthians 6:15)

All the interfaith dialogue, sensitivity and diversity training, Parliaments of the World’s Religions, and all the other religious harlotry coming to its prophesied fulfilment in our day will not succeed in alloying iron with clay.

        It will not happen.

  8. Mullah Lodabullah Says:

The reason for praying in Jesus’ name, Solkhar, is that He is the one mediator between God and man (in spite of Catholic desires to elevate Mary to mediatrix).

“For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.Whereunto I am ordained a preacher, and an apostle, (I speak the truth in Christ, and lie not;) a teacher of the Gentiles in faith and verity.” – 1 Timothy 2:5 – 7

    • Solkhar Says:

Thanks for the clarification of how some of you prayer.

For your information, Muslims are taught that it is you and your prayer direct to God. Mohammed, though so important and a Prophet, was in the end just the Messenger. He is not a part of the prayers at all. There is no “in Mohammed” or in His name, to do so still diminishes the importance and power of God.

      • Mullah Lodabullah Says:

        But which god?

        Not the Biblical God.

        • Solkhar Says:

Yes, the same God of the Three Abrahamic Faiths.

Your the minority in not accepting that fact, most Christians do accept it and you can post your quotes that we Muslims consider tainted even though produced with the best of attentions but nevertheless invalid. It simply will is pointless as some form of justification.

          • Mullah Lodabullah Says:

“It simply will is pointless as some form of justification.”

There is only one form of justification, and that is by grace through faith in Jesus Christ.

No alternate routes via allah and / or its false prophet – just a broad path to death and hell for 1.x billion muslims, unless they choose life freely given.
