Senate Health Bill Faces Saturday Showdown

Senate Democrats will need to vote in lockstep to overcome GOP opposition to the $849 billion health care bill in a crucial vote Saturday that would move it to the floor for debate. But it’s not yet clear whether Majority Leader Harry Reid can round up enough support.
Every member of the Democratic caucus is vital to reach the 60 votes needed to push the bill forward. So far, it seems likely to pass by a slim margin.
The Congressional Budget Office says the Senate version of the 2,074-page bill would provide coverage to 94 percent of people in this country and cut the deficit by $130 billion in the first decade. Republicans, however, condemn the bill’s price tag, which they say will wind up being more along the lines of $1.5 trillion.
Sen. Tom Harkin (D-IA) has been a big cheerleader for the bill, saying Thursday that he was “very confident that not only will the Democrat caucus unite around this bill, but that the American people will unite around it also.”

The showdown vote — set to stay open until 8 p.m. Saturday to accommodate out-of-town senator — is a major hurdle for the health care overhaul. A failure at this stage would be a significant defeat for President Obama, who has put the issue at the top of his policy agenda.

Like Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid would not put this up for a vote if he felt it would go down in flames. Barring any unforeseen circumstances, Reid has the votes.

I will have to say that not only is this constitutionally wrong but it is also ethically wrong. I have really had about all I can take of democrats with their heads up everyone else’s butts all while exclaiming Choice! There is no way that after what we have seen and heard over the last year that these people should be making any decisions for at least half of America. You want your Doctors office staffed by the same people who staff the TSA? Maybe you would prefer the seiu or acorn running things there. Would you want people who were responsible for putting hasan the psychotic psychiatrist in his position making our health decisions? C’mon people, this is beyond criminal and so are they.
It is time to shut these people down and the only way to do that is financially. They dont understand the dollar but the people who operate buisnesses in their districts do.

If you want to know what to do or what is going on in DC just ask some random kid off the streets. They are the democrats spokesmen in all things, healthcare, climate, war, you name it. I hear doogie howser KD (kid doctor) was a popular show but that’s no way to run a country.
