Honduras Defeats Obama

Is there any doubt that Obama has suffered a major, worldwide political defeat?

A calm and peaceful election in Honduras

The democaratic process worked yesterday in Honduras, as election observers from throughout the world watched as 61.3% of eligible voters turned out to elect a new President of Honduras.

Porfirio “Pepe” Lobo of the Nationalist Party won by a majority vote of 55.77%.

Many other seats were filled as well, as congressional representatives and mayors positions were also voted.  By all accounts, it was a calm and peaceful election without incident.  The polling hours were extended by one hour to 5:00 PM to allow those in line to cast their ballots.

The last time that over 60% of the American eligible voters turned out to vote was in the 1964 presidential elections held after JFK was killed.  Not even the recent Obama/McCain campaigns brought in over 60% of American voters.

It appears that this was an election by the people, for the people to show the world that Honduras is a democratic nation with a duly elected new President.

This is a major victory. With all of the countries of the world either against them or twiddling their thumbs on the sideline a tiny minority of extremists in America stood their ground alongside free Hondurans and the tiny minority won out. And just think, we didn’t have to lift a finger in anger to accomplish it. Now thats power.

Early on Obama reached out to see if the flame of liberty was hot. He immediately pulled his hand back finding that it was indeed hot, very hot, a lot hotter than he had ever been led to believe. Obama is in his infancy when dealing with us. He is feeling his way along and finding that its not the way he was told that it was out there among free people.

Do you suppose this new knowledge, with the stress it brings, might be why he’s losing weight? I wonder how much he’s smoking now as opposed to this time last year?
