Breaking: Coakley Concedes Massachusetts!

Yeeeeehaaawwww!!!!!!!!!!!!

Scott Brown wins Massachusetts Senate special election race
Washington Post

State Sen. Scott Brown won a remarkable upset victory over state Attorney General Martha Coakley (D) tonight in a Massachusetts Senate special election, a victory likely to spawn broad-ranging political and policy consequences heading into the midterm elections.

“Tonight the independent voice of Massachusetts has spoken,” Brown said to raucuous cheers at his victory rally.

Brown’s victory is the first for Republicans at the Senate level for Republican in Massachusetts since 1972 and he becomes the lone GOPer in the 12-person federal delegation from the Bay State.

White House press secretary Robert Gibbs said President Obama called Brown and “congratulated Senator Brown on his victory and a well-run campaign.”

While it is a historic win within Massachusetts, the implications of Brown’s victory for the national political scene are even more critical.

Brown will give Republicans a 41st seat in the Senate, robbing Democrats of the filibuster-proof majority the party had used to pass President Obama’s health care plan late last year. In the immediate lead-up to tonight’s vote, Democrats — including the White House and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (Calif.) — insisted that the party would move forward on health care but it is unclear whether that bravado will carry over in the coming days as the party seeks to deal with Coakley’s stunning upset.

“I have no interest in sugar coating what happened in Massachusetts,” said Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee Chairman Bob Menendez (N.J.). “There is a lot of anxiety in the country right now. Americans are understandably impatient.”

Congressional strategists had warned in the closing days of the Massachusetts Senate race that a Coakley defeat had the potential to trigger a series of retirements within the Democratic ranks as members flee a political wave that could wash out dozens in the House and high single digits on the Senate side.

“My message to my clients? Jump ship now,” said one Democratic operative who advises a number of targeted Members of Congress. “Obama can’t help you.”

Yes, jump ship now—like the dirty little DemonRats you are!

I’ve been reading some of the live blogging during the election. When Coakley Conceded the statements went to what will the One do? One guy thought he would run to center.

The Dems must know for sure now the country is TICKED OFF.

    • The One will blame Coakley for running a terrible campaign and not asking for his help earlier in the race and it’s not a reflection on his abilities as a leader nor a vote against his commie health care deform legislation, blah, blah, blah…

      Cheers

I can see where the One will think like that, as it is about him. He always talks about his group, or his plan etc…

When in fact it is American people owned. The one will be brought inside and told to move center in order to keep a blood bath from happening to the Dem party this year, and in 2012.

I realize I could be wrong, but these snakes the Dems, and RINOs are on notice now. Only the stupid will try and brush this off as a fluke.

We can have hope for sure now Dr., the Lib stronghold of MA., just went tea bagging. I bet Soros is on the phone right now with the One he put in office, and ACORN is getting dead voters ready.

It will be funny to watch MSNBC, and CNN.

    • Yes, I’m sure Chris Matthews had that tingle of urine run down his leg tonight when Coakley croaked. Of course he’ll figure out some way to spin all of this as a mandate from the people to move forward with Health Care and Cap & Tax and whatever else Commie-Leftist agenda comes down the pipes from Our Dark Overlords…

      Cheers

    I’m sick.

No, not because Brown won, but that Western MA is all blue. It used to be that Western MA was the conservative third. And now it’s so far to the Left, it’s not even partially Conservative. That’s a major disappointment.

I know a few Conservatives left there, but I guess they are just too few to matter.

Good news but snakes are slippery and the ones in congress will slink off, regroup and continue to assualt our freedoms. We need to vote the rest out and only vote in only those willing to seek charges against them. All of the old school should be worried, this is not about party anymore it is about anger, they got away for too long, time for a little payback, vote them all out.

  5. CavMom Says:

How long will they wait to seat him? Will they push it back until after the Health Care crap-o-la is voted on?

For the first time in my life the silent majority is out in the street holding signs and shouting slogans and the leftists are angry but also scared. They don’t like it and they want to ban it if they can. Some are calling this the shot heard round the world but really its more like the Boston massacre. The second American revolution of ballots not bullets is upon us. In this war each district is like a hill to be taken each state a territory to be secured. Turnabout is fair play and we can use one of the lefts descriptions for what is going on, prairie fire.

rachel maddow cried. It was a good thing.
    Interesting demographics re. red/blue.
less than 1/3 total pop. voted. Anyone know if this stat good, bad or indifferent?
