St. Louis Tea Party in Clayton Missouri
I have to give props to Jim Hoft of Gateway Pundit. He organized a great line-up of speakers for our April 15th Tea Party.
Among the guests who spoke were Lt. Governor Peter Kinder, Bill Hennessy, (he organized our very first Tea Party in February of 2009 ), Dr. Gina Loudon, and my favorite, Jay Stewart!
Interestingly enough, our local Channel 4 News unexpectedly reported the crowd size as “thousands.” I’m a little more reserved and would say maybe about 1500, but it was hard to tell for sure because everyone was pretty well spread out. Of course, after a year of the local news outlets horrendously under-reporting the size of our Tea Parties, I’m not going to complain!
Anyway, here are some photos I took of the event:

That beaming lucky dog is Jim Hoft of Gateway Pundit. A probable reason for his beaming grin is the girl next to him, Michelle Moore, who appears every once in a while on “FOX and Friends” and has her own blog HERE.
Of course, as expected, we had a couple of party crashers and infiltrators. This guy in the green cap was spouting out all sorts of racist Skin Head type crap. Luckily, some resourceful Tea Partiers were prepared for this eventuality and kept dogging them with the signs you see in the photo. It wasn’t long before the infiltrators realized they had been outwitted and made a hasty retreat with their tails between their legs!
I’ve got to give props to the guys with the signs. You guys rocked!

I caught up with Jay Stewart and snapped this photo before the Tea Party got underway. We talked briefly and I told him he did a great job on Neil Cavuto’s show last week when he summed up the Tea Party perfectly; it is “a citizenship movement!”

Lt. Governor Pete Kinder got the crowd going when he slammed Senator Claire McCaskill for being the little Socialist-Commie she is and for hiding from the Tea Partiers.

Yup, that’s the Po-Po up there on the balcony keeping a watchful eye on all of us. I’m pretty sure they had snipers all perched in their cozy little nests on top of some of the buildings; but, snipers are masters of camouflage, so I didn’t get any pics. Dadgummit!
Words of warning: They are VERY strict about not letting anyone use the restrooms located in the courts building… No, really. I’m serious about that!
Oops! I almost tread right over Our Little Princess! By the looks of her Gadsden Flag, she means business!—And, I know for sure she bites!
Our Little Princess makes a new friend, Helen. Helen’s dad informs me that he named her after the infamous mountain which erupted back in 1980…

Not sure of the count at Discovery Green in Houston (it was low) But that was because most of us chose to go to the Sam Houston Raceway. The Chron has the count at SHR at 6,000. But, the Lone Star Times listed the crowd at 15,000.

Ever notice how for a thousand or more years blacks in Africa were kept in loin cloths and used rudimentary tools to hunt and cook and stuff? Ever notice how in the last hundred years, tracking right with the entrance of westerners that blacks began to become educated and step out of the post stone age world muslims had kept them in? You guys had a thousand years to get it done there but now its too late the cat is out of the bag. Africans, albeit slowly are becoming educated. I know, the devil made you do it, right?

In Houston there were several family groups of Blacks, Hispanics, Asians, etc. All were treated with respect, welcomed and thanks for not being afraid of the leftists calling them out for trying to be White. I love that the media saw them but never snapped a picture.
I still don’t understand why the left is trying so hard to keep the minorities down. If a black man makes an educated decision on his own, he is accused of trying to be white. Nothing is more upsetting at the J house than my “black” husband treated poorly by the whacked out leftist because he makes his own decisions rather than following the words of those who are stuck in the leg irons.

Funny how that all works; The Left tries to present itself as more racially tolerant than the average American, but the moment an “ethnically diverse” individual wakes up and has an ideological difference of opinion, the Left immediately spews out a flurry of racist rhetoric, labeling him/her with racially charged terms such as “Token” or “Uncle Tom.”
Their goal, I presume, is to ostracize “ethnically diverse” individuals from amongst their own ethnic groups and have those fellow ethnic members further shun and debase any free-thinkers from amongst the crowd.
I see this all the time. Most notably was the 2008 elections in which Liberals, who are supposedly staunch supporters of equal rights for women, showed their true colors and turned into a pack of rabid sexists; spewing out such misogynistic calumniations as, “bitch,” “whore,” “slut,” and “cunt.”

What this country needs is a truly LIBERAL president and congress! And I forgive the reader for suspecting that this must be some kind of bad joke!
But the Democrats believe in “statism” — not “liberalism.”
They benefit from the imprecise American political terminology —- we say “the government” here in the USA —- rather than “the state.” And that’s a dangerous problem. Famous brands of statism in recent centuries have been Nazism, socialism, fascism, communism, and welfare statism —- this last is sort of a mix of fascism and socialism.
Liberalism, on the other hand, is a political philosophy of small, cheap government —- it is a constabulary —- and the job of a liberal government is to enforce human rights within its own jurisdiction. I speak of the inalienable and perfectly-natural and universally-valid human rights of life, liberty, private property, and the pursuit of personal happiness.
The first article of private property is “the self” and all other rights are derivatives of and flow from these cardinal rights. These rights —-The Rights of Man —- are the gift of nature or of nature’s god —- and they belong to all human beings, everywhere.
Show me a Democrat who subscribes to all of the above, without qualifications or weasel words. The words “liberal” and “liberalism” were hijacked by the Democrats and socialists and fascists long ago —- and it was the mistake of conservatives and libertarians to let them get away with it.
It is long past time that liberalism be reclaimed, defined, and explained by its rightful owners —- by the champions of freedom, i.e.: not by Democrats.
Well, how about “progressivism?” Whuzzat?! “Cancer” is “progressive,” too. Isn’t “progressivism” just another statist cancer? It chews you up, piece by piece, in the name of Da Peepul? Eat Da Rich? Moral cannibalism, anyone?

We have several readers from Australia who often marvel out how crazy it is that Liberals in America are the exact polar opposite of Liberals in Australia.
Of course, as you have rightly pointed out, the words “Liberal” and “Liberalism” were hijacked by the DemonRat Commies, long ago.
In fact, if you really think about it, the words “Democratic” and “Republic” have also been hijacked by the Commies of the world. Hence, the following Communist countries:
The People’s Republic China
The Republic of Cuba
The Socialist Republic of Vietnam
The Republic of Moldova
And, my favorite “two for the price of one” Communist country names:
The Lao People’s Democratic Republic
The Democratic People’s Republic of Korea
Of course, there is a good reason why Commies steal our political and ideological designations; the majority of people in the world don’t really subscribe to notion of being ruled by a bunch of fascist, totalitarian Commies. So, the only way these fascist Commies can pull the wool over the eyes of the general public is by branding themselves as the equivalent of a Liberal (in the good sense of the word), Democratic Republic like that of the United States.
Of course, if Communism was such a great idea that all of the world was eagerly clamoring for it, then there would be absolutely no need to co-opt America’s nomenclatures for its system of government and ideologies. No, the fact of the matter is that the rational world envies America and her freedoms while despising the fascist, totalitarian rule of Communism. Hence, the word games which must be played by Commies.
You make an interesting point in having Conservatives declare themselves Liberals. However, for me at least, I cannot bring myself to do that. Why? Because if we were to truly be Liberal, then we would have no objections to others practicing pedophilia, racism, homosexuality, etc., etc.
Personally, I have very strong objections to what I consider peccant behavior. Of course, what I consider to be iniquitous, others might consider to be moral and ethical.
It is for that reason, the word “liberal” does not aptly apply to me. If I were to use it, I would always know in my heart that I was being dishonest, living a lie; A life full of hypocrisy and tartuffery is where that road leads!
“Conservative” is a little closer to my beliefs; But, then again, the word “Conservative” doesn’t really suit me, either. I mean, if one were to be a true Conservative—adhering to tradition—then one would also fall into the trap of supporting traditional slavery and shunning anything new and out of the ordinary.
Perhaps we “Right-Wingers” need a new word to describe us. Since polling consistently shows that the largest ideological group in the United States identify themselves as having Conservative values, how about, “Americans?”
