I read all the posts, replies, and retorts but I didn’t see one mention of WHAT THE FLAG OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA STANDS FOR! A flag goes into battle with our troops and always has. It was raised when our ancestors won freedom from England. The flag is a tangible representation of what we have in our country and what my husband and others fight for everyday – freedom. The fact that it was missing at a presidential press conference is a sad look at what this country has become – uncaring – and a slap in the face to the American troops – past and present. I cry when I think about what this country will be like when our sons and daughters have children. I am a proud American immigrant. My family came from all over Europe and immigrated here for a better life. They fought for AMERICA and carried the US FLAG. If that is not where the loyalties of anyone that lives in the USA – and specifically the president- lies they need to go back to wherever they came from or where they call their “country”.

Who do you think cleans up the highways and byways? I’ll have you know, (and I’m not the only one), I volunteer to clean some of the roads in another town than the one that I live in. I have a vegetable farm and I not only donate to the food pantries but I also give away veggies to poor families in my area.
I can’t do a better job than Obama because I’m not qualified, but then again neither is he.
As far as doing something to find a better health plan reform that’s up to each State Government and the people’s vote, not the Federal Government.

Economic egalitarianism is NOT a sole indicator of Socialism; only a pointer towards the Marxist variety of Socialism.
Not all socialism is of the Marxist variety. In fact, Hitler detested Karl Marx’s version of socialism and replaced it with his own vision of a socialist utopia.
After having spent months tediously trudging my way through Hitler’s garrulous vomit, “Mein Kampf,” it is quite obvious that Hitler felt Marxism was being used by the Jews to subjugate the masses. (Long pause as I hunt down the pertinent section of Hitler’s insane prolixity… Here it is: )

Given that sentiment, it is no wonder Hitler rejected the Marxist variety of Socialism and substituted another version.
Furthermore, even the Social Democratic Party of Germany rejected Marxism and adopted the Godesberg Program in 1959. The Godesberg Program rejects class struggle and Marxism, yet is still considered a brand of Socialism.
Furthermore, economic egalitarianism is just another Marxist pipe dream that has never been successfully implemented upon an entire country. Especially when one considers that ALL communist and socialist countries develop a class system—else there would be no one in charge to take everyone’s money and redistribute it to friends and family.
In summary, Marxism is a brand of Socialism, yet not all Socialism is of the Marxist brand.
