Teachers Who Campaigned for Obama’s Health Care Deform Seek Exemption from Obamacare for Themselves!

I mentioned health care mandate waiver requests on Oct. 6 (two days ago). The big discussion was centered around McDonald’s and their mini-med health care programs that would not meet medical loss ratio requirements in the law. Now we learn a branch of the American Federation of Teachers – who campaigned and donated big dollars in support of Obamacare – requested a waiver since some members would lose their health insurance.
Specifically, we’re talking about the New York City branch of the American Federation of Teachers (AFT) named the United Federation of Teachers. I noted the exact same thing Rush Limbaugh noted in his radio show yesterday.
So the Obama administration can apply – or not apply – the law at it’s discretion? Two thousand-plus pages of garbage federal law that nobody has read or understands … and this is what we get. Just another symptom of the disease.
At about the same time my post went up Wednesday morning, Michelle Malkin noted McDonald’s was not alone. Many other groups, including the teacher’s union in New York City, got a waiver.
Of course, the Obama administration defended their position on granting waivers to whomever they like. Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius is the one with that power … and she’ll yield it as she sees fit, damn it!
Today, Kyle Olson at Big Government notes the true hypocrisy, with my emphasis in bold.
ObamaCare was such a great idea at the time - the AFT [parent organization of the NYC United Federation of Teachers] gave hundreds of thousands of dollars to Healthcare for America Now, the leading organization pushing for the government takeover of health care.
It was announced Thursday that the UFT has requested and received an Obamacare-waiver after it discovered their members would end up losing their health insurance plans.
A New York teacher named Liza Frenette wrote the following on the NYSUT (New York State Union of Teachers?) website. NYSUT is affiliated with the American Federation of Teachers, National Education Association and the AFL-CIO.
Myth: Health care reform will force you out of your current insurance plan or force you to change doctors.
Fact: You can keep your existing insurance; reform will expand your medical options, not eliminate them.
I wonder if Frenette got a waiver?

Our elitist, better than us common folk, followers of our ‘Dear Leader’ consider themselves exempt from all of the rules and regulations. After all they are the building blocks of ‘change’ in our new utopian workers paradise.

Christians can opt out for religious purposes as health care violates several commandments. Thou shalt not kill, abortion and death panels, yes, they are a part of it. And Thou shalt not covet thy neighbors wife, nor ass, nor anything that is your neighbors…including their health. Muslims got a pass for religious purposes and I suggest Christians do the same.
Obama and the democrats are one giant violation of the ten commandments, nevermind our morality. They may treat the sick and elderly that way but not us, unless we want to go to hell along with them.

TG, I bet, in the case of Christians, that one might be able to opt out of receiving benefites with the reasons you cite, but that one will likely still have to pay in.
You don’t write over 2000 pages without having some “damned if you do, damned if you don’t” language in there for your opponents. We’ve seen some of that already with respect to abortion.

You mean they will try to tell Christians what they can and cannot do, religiously? There may have been a day when they could fool me on that one but not anymore. We will not allow people who behave as they do, people who say the things that they do about us, to make decisions regarding our lives. Beware of wolves in sheeps clothing, the prog symbol is the wolf in sheeps clothing. Christians have a greater obligation to God in most matters than just the laws of the USA.
As the resident sez, it may devolve into hand to hand combat, among other things. If we are not being pushed around, hassled, called names or martyred, we may not be trying hard enough.

Yep, in the late 1800s we might be able to write this type of thinking off as wrong headed. But, in the ensuing years, with all the misery and monstrosity committed in the prog name that is no longer possible. There is no excuse for continuing to follow prog theory, especially after the events of WWII. To be honest, if the prog disappeared from the Earth the people of the world would probably get along much much better. Progs are pushing everyone in the world around and in the years since WWII the USAs military has been their vehicle of choice in doing it. Duped.
