Colorado: High School Student Forced to Sing Praises to “Allah” Quits Choir; Receives Death Threats for Doing So

I figure you all have probably heard about this story, but I was interested in hearing your views on it:

Colo. Student Quits Choir Over Islamic Song Praising Allah
By Marti Lotman – NewsMax

A Colorado high school senior felt compelled to quit his school’s choir after seeing that they would be singing a song espousing that “there is no truth except Allah,” reports Fox News.

James Harper, a student at Grand Junction High School, sent an email to Mesa County School District 51 officials, detailing his opposition to singing the song titled “Zikr,” composed by A.R. Rahman.

Yup, that’s the same guy who wrote the music for “Slumdog Millionaire”;  Another piece of Islamaganda garbage, if you ask me.

The school district defended choir director Marcia Wieland’s choice to include the song, so Harper quit the choir.

“I don’t want to come across as a bigot or a racist, but I really don’t feel it is appropriate for students in a public high school to be singing an Islamic worship song,” Harper told KREX-TV. “This is worshipping another God, and even worshipping another prophet . . . I think there would be a lot of outrage if we made a Muslim choir say Jesus Christ is the only truth.”

District spokesman Jeff Kirtland defended the choice, saying that choral music often centers around religious themes and that the school was not promoting or endorsing any specific belief system.

“The song was chosen because its rhythms and other qualities would provide an opportunity to exhibit the musical talent and skills of the group in competition, not because of its religious message or lyrics,” Kirtland told FoxNews.com in an email.

Another fine example of “its not about the lyrics, just the beat and melody” – its crap. Anyone who has spent (any) time studying the effects music has on the mind, completely understand that anytime you put lyrics to a tune, particularly catchy, rhythmic tunes, you have a means to change the minds and perspectives of people.

Look at this generation, many who listen to nothing but hip-hop or rap, most of which advocating violence (often extreme violence) and anti-authority statements or propose killing, raping, or other extreme actions. Its no wonder we’re seeing crime becoming more and more violent.

Now, take this as an example, you capture peoples hearts through music and you can manipulate them to do whatever you want through music including inciting violence as a means of simply expressing themselves. This is just another subtle way of slowly changing peoples perspectives by singing a “harmless” song… this is where it starts!

I applaud this young man for walking away and I don’t care whether they want to downplay this as harmless because it “exhibits the musical talent and skills of the group” – hogwash! There are MANY other songs that don’t demoralize someone’s belief and the fact that he’s received death threats… doesn’t that say something folks?! This is WAY beyond a harmless exhibition of musical talent, this is social terrorism.

Exactly! He is to be commended for his standing up to these leftist, ‘tolerant’ tyrants. Funny that when schools want to sing Christmas carols, they get all kinds of outrage from the same folks who are shoving this down the choir’s throats. Ah, diversity…

  3. I really should be suprised by a school employee picking a song written for a false god and a false prophet but not really…

All I can about the student is… “BRAVO”

Make similar choices to defend yourself and Christ.

Reject this dhimmi society and its fondness for Anti-American islam!
