Dave GaubatzIslam investigator ejected from D.C. Muslim conference
Illegally detained: ‘CAIR and ISNA essentially tried to get me killed’
Posted: July 05, 2009 - WorldNetDaily

WASHINGTON – With a high-profile Christian keynote speaker, Rick Warren, the Islamic Society of North America billed its July 4 national convention here as a major outreach to non-Muslims, but it chose to eject by force an American investigating Islamist radicalism in the U.S.

Dave Gaubatz, a former Air Force special agent who has traveled the country investigating radical Islamist mosques and attempts at imposing Shariah law in the U.S., was forcibly removed from the conference after paying the $100 attendance fee.

Gaubatz made news last November by slapping officials of the Council of American Islamic Relations with subpoenas at the group’s national conference.

“It was apparent I was ‘flagged,’” he told WND. “Eight or nine ISNA and other men surrounded me. They refused to tell me who they were or why they wanted me to leave. One then said CAIR wants you out. They began crowding me. I was professional and told them to step away from me, tell me who they are, and why was I being illegally detained. I told them this could have been avoided if ISNA would have emailed me a cancellation. I told them I want my $100 back. Meanwhile I was asking them some tough questions they could not answer.”

After ISNA officials let Gaubatz out of the Washington Convention Center, he was quickly surrounded by Washington police.

“I was on the street and noticed at least three D.C. patrol cars,” he said. “I took pictures. Then I started walking toward my parked car. One patrol car was following me slowly. I stopped, took a few pictures of him. Then walked to my car. I got in my car. Three patrol cars surrounded me and surrounded my vehicle. I was told to get out. I asked what was the problem. Finally one officer showed me pictures CAIR had given them and told them I was a threat. There were four pictures – three were with me in Iraq with my M-16 and 9mm, and in two I was holding AK-47s in Iraq. CAIR had photocopied the picture of me helping a sick Iraqi child from the picture. Then CAIR had cropped my head shot onto a Nazi uniform, which was obvious.”

The police said members of CAIR had given them the pictures, saying he was a threat.

“I told them about the pictures, my background in Iraq, and who I was,” Gaubatz said. “They knew nothing of this. CAIR and ISNA had essentially tried to get me killed. The officer reminded me they just had the Holocaust Museum shooting. CAIR intentionally misled the officers to make them believe I was just someone who carries guns. CAIR failed to tell them these were pictures from Iraq when I was serving my country.”

Yet another government outrage

Indiana Republican Richard Lugar and Sen. Dick Durbin, D-Ill., have introduced the Development, Relief and Education for Alien Minors Act in Congress. Spun as a way for a young illegal to earn legal status it offers such benefits as free college education.

This massive waste of taxpayer’s money can grant conditional legal status to youths who successfully complete high school or the equivalent. The illegal has several options available like taking six years to graduate from college or trade school. Naturally, they will require some government assistance to accomplish this. The bill also offers them a chance to join the military, something they can already do.

While Americans are worried about higher taxes, massive jobs losses, higher fuel prices, out of control crime, an unsecured border and a less than productive congress they now get to foot the bill to help educate criminal illegals. They get to do this with the full understanding that a college education is out of reach for many native born Americans.

Folks I have said it thousands of times now, stop voting party and vote against the incumbents. We need term limits and we all know the crooks in office will never allow them. We need to get rid of the lying corrupt and hopelessly incompetent thieves in office. It is time to let a fresh batch of new leaders emerge. We have already learned the hard way what worthless pieces of excrement our current congress is made of, vote them all out.

Radical British Islamic group planning “bloodless military coup” in Pak

Mostly same ol same ol – crazy ass muslim minions planning violence while claiming that they are not violent brainwashed fools. This time like most of the others, their targets are other muslims. The biggest killers of muslims have always been and always will be muslims. The minions are nothing if not consistent.

5th July, 2009 (ANI)
London, July 5 : The writ of the Pakistan government is not only under threat from the ever expanding Taliban, but fears are also rife that British extremists may try to topple the democratic set-up of the country, as an Islamic fundamentalist group, Hizb- ut-Tahrir (HuT) is pushing for a “bloodless military coup” to establish an orthodox Islamic rule in the troubled nation .
-Just in case you have not already figured it out the “British extremists” are not Christians. Unlike the press I have no problem pointing my middle finger straight at islam.

A report in The Times has revealed that the members of the HuT, who call themselves as the Liberation party in Britain, is working overtime to establish a caliphate in Pakistan, under which strict Islamic laws would rigorously be enforced.
-Pakistan is a distraction their real agenda is sharia in the UK.

The group, which is banned in Pakistan, plans to make Islamabad its base, from where it could plan and spread Islamic rule across the globe.
-Hmmm sounds a lot like every other muslim groups agenda.

There are several British activists of the HuT who are based in Lahore and Karachi, and are secretly working towards their objective.
-Yeah secretly enough that it made the press.

Tayyib Muqeem, an English teacher from Stoke-on-Trent, has now stationed himself in Lahore, and has established a Hizb ut-Tahrir student group in Superior College here, the report said.

“The organisation’s aim was to subject Muslim and western countries to Islamic rule under sharia law, ‘by force’ if necessary,” said Muqueem.
-Bring it pedophile worshiper. Read the rest of this post »

Saudis would agree to Israeli Air Force strike on Iran

This is huge; obama’s kowtowing to the saudi king shows the influence the man has over the US rookie president. With his masters permission for a strike on irans nuclear sites even obama will look the other way. Without US interference the Israeli strike stands a better chance of success.

5 Jul., 2009, JPost
Mossad head Meir Dagan assured Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu that Saudi Arabia would allow IAF jets to fly over the kingdom during any future raid on Iran’s nuclear facilities, The Sunday Times reported.
-Although it is doubtful that the saudis could have stopped the IAF from over flying the kingdom this does remove an obstacle and makes IAF mission planning easier. The IAF mission would be impossible if they had to fight their way to iran and back.

The British paper reported that Dagan held talks with Saudi officials earlier this year on the topic.

However, the Prime Minister’s Office issued an official denial on Sunday morning, saying the report was “completely false and baseless.”
-The saudis are forced to lie on this issue, no muslim can help infidels against other muslims and the shia minions inside the kingdom would throw a full out frothing at the mouth jihadi fit if they knew about this. Read the rest of this post »

CAIR Ruins 4th of July – Has “Run Hadji Run” Fireworks Removed

Sheesh!  What’s next?  Burn all copies of Jonny Quest?

Run Hadji Run

So, what is CAIR trying to imply?  That there are no Islamic terrorists?  As much as they’d like to us to believe that, it certainly is a fact that most of our current batch of terrorists are practitioners of Islam.  And, it is also a well established fact that Uncle Sam is currently engaged in a war against terrorists who happen to wear turbans.  Now, imagine if we were back in 1942 and some whiny Germans in America demanded that a fireworks vendor pull a stockpile of firecrackers named “Run-Adolf-Run.”  That’s how absurd all this PC  pablum is.

‘Run Hadji Run’ fireworks pulled off shelves
Fireworks called Run Hadji Run were pulled off the shelves of a Wisconsin store after Minnesota Muslims complained that they were racist.
By JEFF STRICKLER, Star Tribune
July 4, 2009

Fireworks called Run Hadji Run were pulled off the shelves of a Wisconsin store after Minnesota Muslims complained that they were racist.

The Minnesota chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-MN) said that both the name and the packaging are demeaning. One side of the package has a drawing of Uncle Sam yanking the long beard of a man in traditional Muslim attire, while the other shows a Stealth bomber flying over a group of Arabs riding camels. In addition, “Hadji” is an honorific for those who have completed the pilgrimage to Mecca.

“I’ve seen other fireworks that I thought were pushing the line on being offensive, but this clearly went too far,” Jessica Zikri, the communications director of CAIR-MN, said today. “Hopefully, this will help keep other groups from being targeted this way.”

The company that imported the fireworks from China, Missouri-based Red Rhino Fireworks, said that they are at least three years old and were distributed by the firm’s previous owners. But they are still listed in the company’s online catalog, which said they send off 16 red, green and blue “strobe comets” over a period of 28 seconds.

They were discovered by a shopper Friday afternoon at Fireworks City in Baldwin, Wis. Reports of their existence reached CAIR-MN, which demanded their removal, and they were removed from the sales stock late Friday.

Because the fireworks were distributed several years ago, there’s no way of telling if other stores still have some, Zikri acknowledged.

“But we’re happy that this store saw the logic” of halting sales, she said. “We contacted [Red Rhino], and hopefully they will tell other stores to get rid of any remaining product they might have.”

PRUDEN: Ol’ Stupid begins to notice things

By Wesley Pruden  | Friday, July 3, 2009 –
Washington Times

Too bad for Barack Obama and the Democrats, but George W. Bush is the shrinking man of American politics, growing ever smaller on the far horizon. Merely invoking his name will soon no longer frighten women and horses.

The not-so-new president has treated his predecessor as his training wheels, invoking his presence every time (which is often) the ground trembles, a dog barks, the wind blows, the rain falls and he threatens to topple over. We were promised nirvana, or at least a lollipop, if only we could banish George W. and the inept and evil Republicans. Banish we did, and the messiah from the South Side of Chicago has been practicing miracle-working for five months. Alas, there’s no sign of clearing skies.

Five months is not very long, of course, and it’s unreasonable to expect nirvana so soon, but that’s the nature of the impatient American public. Reason, like love, has nothing to do with it. With every nightfall, the news gets worse, or at least not any better, and growing numbers of Americans are beginning to doubt that he has all the answers he so confidently insisted he did. The public-opinion polls clearly show deteriorating public confidence in the confidence man. Worse than not having the answers is the growing suspicion that Mr. Obama and his wise men even understand the question.

The unemployment numbers, the closely watched benchmark by which presidents are judged, stood at 7.2 percent when Mr. Obama took his oath, and Thursday, it inched up to 9.5 percent. The average workweek subsided in June to 33 hours, lowest since the feds began keeping such records in 1964. Cutting hours and freezing pay has spread even to companies awash in profits, with managers, never wanting to waste a crisis and looking to an uncertain future, are taking advantage now, just in case.

“We are in some very hard and severe economic times,” Labor Secretary Hilda Solis told an interviewer in the wake of the new bad news. “The president and I are both not happy. I do think the public needs to be patient. We know they are hurting.”

The president is saying the things every president says when recession hits and panic and depression threaten. Some of the president’s friends insist they see “tiny green shoots” on the landscape, promising prosperity soon. The president himself concedes the economy is in a hole and blames the man who preceded him. His predecessor’s policies “have left us in a very deep hole,” he says, “and digging our way out of it will take time, patience and some tough choices.” The secretary of State, Hillary Rodham Clinton, likes the shovel-ready metaphor, too. “You know,” she told a television interviewer the other day, “we are in just so many deep holes that everybody had better grab a shovel and start digging out.”

ISNA Conference Makes a Mockery of Independence Day

I’ll be sure to throw a couple of pork-chops on the grill this 4th of July:

The ISNA Conference
By Dave Gaubatz – The American Thinker

American Muslims gather by the tens of thousands in our nation’s capital this weekend, as our nation celebrates its birthday.

They will be filling the Washington DC Convention Center for the 46th Annual ISNA National Conference.  http://www.isna.net/home.aspx Muslims from all across America will be at the event to do their part in helping to celebrate the success of ISNA.

Did the leadership of ISNA randomly pick our nation’s Independence Day to hold their event? Islamic scholars openly lecture to not follow man-made holidays created by the Jews and Christians such as Christmas, Easter, Independence Day, etc.  In addition, ISNA informs American educators that Muslim children are not encouraged to any allegiance to America, which also includes wearing lapel pins or standing for the pledge of allegiance.

Last year I attended the ISNA Conference in Ohio. There were an estimated 30,000 plus Muslims who attended the conference, including Congressman Keith Ellison/D-MN and several other U.S elected officials. (Ellison refused to use the Bible during his official searing in ceremony and instead was allowed to use a Quran.)

There were hundreds of vendors, and since the conference was being held only a couple of months before the 2008 Presidential Election, there was an enormous outpouring of support for Barack Obama. Non profit organizations are not supposed to favor any certain political candidate, of course.

In 2008 ISNA had several booths with anti-American slogans on shirts, along with pro-Hamas, pro-Palestinian, and anti-Israel garments. In addition Barack Hussein Obama material was in abundance. I researched the hundreds of vendors and saw no material for Presidential candidate John McCain.

It was easy to find DVDs, books, manuals, and pamphlets calling America a terrorist organization and for the destruction of our country and Israel. It was very easy to find material calling for killing innocent men, women, and children in American who did not belief in an Islamic Ummah (Nation) worldwide and under Sharia law.  There were material calling for polygamy and encouraging child marriages. If you wanted Muslim Brotherhood material, this was the location to obtain the intelligence you desired. These type materials were in abundance.

When he closed the door and turned around, he spotted a man near him in the apartment.

The man rushed toward him. Fearing for his life, the resident fired once, hitting the man in the chest, Adolph said.

Obama to Oppose Sanctions Against Iran

Posted 3 July, 2009 by doctorbulldog
Categories: Abuse of Power, politics

Well, this comes from Haaretz which is notorious for its inaccuracies in journalism.  So, take it with a grain of salt, but it certainly wouldn’t be out of line with Obama’s current strategy of siding with our enemies while making enemies of our friends:

Report: U.S. to block Iran sanctions at G8 summit
By Shlomo Shamir, Haaretz Correspondent

The United States is opposed to enacting a new set of financial sanctions against Iran that are due to be discussed in the G8 summit next week, diplomatic officials in New York reported Friday.

According to officials, sanctions against Iran are expected to top the G8’s agenda. Sources are also predicting a pointed debate between the heads of the industrialized nations over an appropriate response to Iranian authorities’ suppression of reformist demonstrations in Iran led by Mir Hossein Mousavi and other Iranian opposition leaders.

Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi hinted in a newspaper interview earlier in the week that the G8 is due to decide on new financial sanctions against the Islamic Republic. Berlusconi disclosed that he had spoken with the heads of the G8 nations and has discussed such steps with them.

According to the Italian prime minister, “the general leaning [among G8 leaders] is toward sanctions.”

However, diplomatic sources in New York reported that American officials are working behind the scenes to prevent new sanctions from being imposed against Iran.

U.S. officials claimed that a tough stance toward Iran could backfire, bringing about an opposite outcome to that desired by those who support such measures.

The Obama administration, according to the diplomatic sources, has discarded the notion of direct talks with Iran. However, the United States is still interested in re-engaging Iran through the renewed discussion of its nuclear program through the six permanent United Nations Security Council members.

American officials expressed concern that a decision to enact harsh steps against Iran during the G8 meeting could badly hurt the prospect of Tehran agreeing to renew negotiations with the permanent Security Council members.

In addition to U.S. reluctance to enact fresh sanctions, G8 members Russia and China have been known to oppose any punitive steps against Tehran.

The Security Council has already imposed several rounds of sanctions against Iran, including a weapons embargo and a ban on supplying Iran any materials which could be used to advance its disputed nuclear program.

New sanctions could include forbidding western oil companies from maintaining commercial ties with Iran.

50 Outrageous Features Found in the Cap-n-Bleed Bill

A Garden of Piggish Delights
Waxman-Markey is part power-grab, part enviro-fantasy. Here are 50 reasons to stop it.
By Stephen Spruiell & Kevin Williamson
NRO

The stimulus bill was the legislative equivalent of the famous cantina scene from Star Wars, an eye-popping collection of the freakish and exotic, gathered for dubious purposes. The Waxman-Markey cap-and-trade bill, known as ACES (the American Clean Energy and Security Act), is more like the third panel in Hieronymus Bosch’s Garden of Earthly Delights — a hellscape that disturbs the sleep of anybody who contemplates it carefully.

Two main things to understand about Waxman-Markey: First, it will not reduce greenhouse-gas emissions, at least not at any point in the near future. The inclusion of carbon offsets, which can be manufactured out of thin air and political imagination, will eliminate most of the demands that the legislation puts on industry, though in doing so it will manage to drive up the prices consumers pay for every product that requires energy for its manufacture — which is to say, for everything. Second, it represents a worse abuse of the public trust and purse than the stimulus and the bailouts put together. Waxman-Markey creates a permanent new regime in which environmental romanticism and corporate welfare are mixed together to form political poison. From comic bureaucratic power grabs (check out the section of the bill on candelabras) to the creation of new welfare programs for Democratic constituencies to, above all, massive giveaways for every financial, industrial, and political lobby imaginable, this bill would permanently deform American politics and economic life.

The House of Representatives, famously, did not read this bill before passing it, which is testament to either Nancy Pelosi’s managerial incompetency or her political wile, or possibly both. If you take the time to read the legislation, you’ll discover four major themes: special-interest giveaways, regulatory mandates unrelated to climate change, fanciful technological programs worthy of The Jetsons, and assorted left-wing wish fulfillment. We cannot cover every swirl and brushstroke of this masterpiece of misgovernance, but here’s a breakdown of its 50 most outrageous features.

Feds Threaten California with Land Grab

Feds could seize Calif. parks if closed by budget

By DON THOMPSON
Associated Press Writer
- SACBee

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — California officials said Wednesday they are trying to avert the federal government’s threat to seize six parks that could be closed to help reduce the state’s ballooning budget deficit.

National Park Service Regional Director Jonathan Jarvis warned in a letter to Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger that all six occupy former federal land that could revert to the U.S. government if the state fails to keep the parks open.

The sites are Angel Island, a former federal military and immigration facility in San Francisco Bay; the top of Mount Diablo east of San Francisco, where the Navy once operated a microwave relay station; Point Sur State Historic Park in coastal Big Sur; and three beaches – Fort Ord Dunes near Monterey, Point Mugu State Park near Malibu, and Border Fields along the Mexican border.

The properties are among the 220 state parks Schwarzenegger has proposed closing to save $143 million. Legislators are considering the move as part of efforts to close a $26 billion budget deficit.

[...]

“Lands conveyed to the State under the Federal Lands to Parks Program must be open for public park and recreation use in perpetuity as a condition of the deed,” Jarvis warned in a June 8 letter to Schwarzenegger made public Wednesday.

50% Jump in Taxpayer-Financed Trips Since Democrats Took Control of Congress

Congress’s Travel Tab Swells
Spending on Taxpayer-Funded Trips Rises Tenfold; From Italy to the Galápagos
By BRODY MULLINS and T.W. FARNAM – WSJ

WASHINGTON — Spending by lawmakers on taxpayer-financed trips abroad has risen sharply in recent years, a Wall Street Journal analysis of travel records shows, involving everything from war-zone visits to trips to exotic spots such as the Galápagos Islands.

The spending on overseas travel is up almost tenfold since 1995, and has nearly tripled since 2001, according to the Journal analysis of 60,000 travel records. Hundreds of lawmakers traveled overseas in 2008 at a cost of about $13 million. That’s a 50% jump since Democrats took control of Congress two years ago.

[...]

Lawmakers say that the trips are a good use of government funds because they allow members of Congress and their staff members to learn more about the world, inspect U.S. assets abroad and forge better working relationships with each other. The travel, for example, includes official visits to American troops in Iraq and Afghanistan.

The Journal analysis, based on information published in the Congressional Record, also shows that taxpayer-funded travel is a big and growing perk for lawmakers and their families. Some members of Congress have complained in recent months about chief executives of bailed-out banks, insurance companies and car makers who sponsored corporate trips to resorts or used corporate jets for their own travel.

Although complete travel records aren’t yet available for 2009, it appears that such costs continue to rise. The Journal analysis shows that the government has picked up the tab for travel to destinations such as Jamaica, the Virgin Islands and Australia’s Great Barrier Reef.

Lawmakers frequently bring along spouses on congressional trips. If they take commercial flights, they have to buy tickets for spouses. If they fly on government planes — as they usually do — their spouses can fly free.

Birds of a Feather: Part II

Posted 1 July, 2009 by doctorbulldog
Categories: Abuse of Power, politics

Gee, I guess I’m not alone in my rhetorical musings as to why Obama would be so dead set against the military lawfully removing a President who continually ignores the Constitution:

The ugly face of liberalism
By Selwyn Duke – American Thinker

It has been interesting watching the response to the Honduran military’s recent ousting its nation’s president, Manuel Zelaya.  Barack Obama called the action “not legal” and Hillary Clinton said that the arrest of Zelaya should be condemned.  Most interesting, perhaps, is that taking this position places them shoulder to shoulder with Fidel Castro, Daniel Ortega and Venezuelan’s roaring mouse, Hugo Chavez, who is threatening military action against Honduras.  Now, some would say this is an eclectic group – others would say, not so much – regardless, what has gotten them so upset?

Let’s start with what they say.  They are calling the ouster a “coup” and claim that Zelaya is still Honduras’ rightful president.  Some of them say we must support democracy.  But they have said little, if anything, about the rule of law.  And most of what they have said is wrong.

First, it doesn’t appear that Sunday’s ouster was a military coup but a law enforcement action.  It is not a military strongman who sought extra-legal control, but Zelaya himself.  Here is the story.

Zelaya is a leftist, a less precocious version of Chavez, sort of like the Venezuelan’s Mini-me.  And, like Chavez, it’s seems that Zelaya was bent on perpetuating his rule and increasing his power in defiance of the rule of law.  That is to say, the Honduran Constitution limits presidents to one four-year term, and this wasn’t quite enough to satisfy Zelaya’s ambitions.  So he sought to amend the constitution, which may sound okay, except for one minor detail.  Mary Anastasia O’Grady in the Wall Street Journal explains:

While Honduran law allows for a constitutional rewrite, the power to open that door does not lie with the president. A constituent assembly can only be called through a national referendum approved by its Congress.

But Mr. Zelaya declared the vote on his own and had Mr. Chávez ship him the necessary ballots from Venezuela. The Supreme Court ruled his referendum unconstitutional, and it instructed the military not to carry out the logistics of the vote as it normally would do.

The top military commander, Gen. Romeo Vásquez Velásquez, told the president that he would have to comply. Mr. Zelaya promptly fired him. The Supreme Court ordered him reinstated. Mr. Zelaya refused.

. . .  the president decided he would run the referendum himself. So on Thursday he led a mob that broke into the military installation where the ballots from Venezuela were being stored and then had his supporters distribute them in defiance of the Supreme Court’s order.

However, like so many apparent megalomaniacs, Zelaya greatly overestimated his popularity.  The groundswell of citizen support he had counted on didn’t materialize; thus, his law breaking could not be sanitized by consensus making.  The military then arrested him, acting under orders from legitimate civilian authorities and in defense of the rule of law.  The good guys won . . . at least for now.

Also note that the military confined itself to its prescribed police action and is not running the country.  The new president is 63-year-old Roberto Micheletti, a member of Zelaya’s own Liberal Party.  Moreover, elections are still planned for this November.

Micheletti also enjoys wide support, from the rank-and-file to the those breathing rarified air in elite institutions.  As for Zelaya, while you may not be able to please all of the people all of the time, he certainly seems to have been able to displease them.  He not only alienated the Congress, Supreme Court, the people and the attorney general — who also declared the referendum illegal and vowed to prosecute anyone facilitating it — he is also opposed by the Catholic Church and many evangelicals.  Really, no one seems to like him.

No one, that is, but Hugo Chavez, Fidel Castro and Daniel Ortega.

Oh, and let’s not forget Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama.

Tell me who your friends are and I’ll tell you who you are, anyone?

In fact, Obama’s position is striking.  More than almost anything else — almost anything — this dance with the Devil reveals his true colors.  Sure, he was criticized over his handling of Iran, but even I will say there are two sides.  After all, you could make the case that overt support for the protesters would provide the clerics and President Ahmadinejad with invaluable propaganda material.  And Obama looked foolish when he paraded about the world issuing mea culpas on behalf of big bad America, but, hey, that’s a reflection of the standard liberal America-as-villain narrative.  I don’t think it surprised too many people.  But, as bad as Obama has been, this occupies a different realm all together.  And I think most fail to appreciate the gravity of what I will not even call a policy, but an offense.

Obama has sided with a thug, a man who — for completely self-serving reasons — sought to subvert his nation’s constitution.  Obama has sided with a man who — like Pancho Villa on a cross-border raid — lead a mob in an effort to execute this illegal scheme.  And Obama does this while paying lip service to democracy, even as he imperils it; he claims to stand for freedom, even while supporting those who would extinguish it.  It is un-American.  It is ugly.  It is, in a word, evil.

Yet it doesn’t surprise me.  Some may think the issue is simply that, although Obama despises Zelaya’s tactics, he is driven to support a fellow traveler.  Others may think that Obama wants to support a fellow traveler and is indifferent about the tactics.  Neither is entirely correct.  In point of fact, Zelaya has certain tactics.  Obama has certain tactics.

And they are largely the same.

In fact, they are shared by virtually all leftists.

Ignoring the rule of law, manipulating the Constitution, acting as if the end justifies the means . . . .  Sound familiar?  This is standard left doctrine.

Obama’s Top Five Health Care Lies
Shikha Dalmia, 07.01.09 – Forbes.com
TonySopranoCare

President Barack Obama walked into the Oval Office with a veritable halo over his head. In the eyes of his backers, he could say or do no wrong because he had evidently descended directly from heaven to return celestial order to our fallen world. Oprah declared his tongue to be “dipped in the unvarnished truth.” Newsweek editor Evan Thomas averred that Obama “stands above the country and above the world as a sort of a God.”

But when it comes to health care reform, with every passing day, Obama seems less God and more demagogue, uttering not transcendental truths, but bald-faced lies. Here are the top five lies that His Awesomeness has told–the first two for no reason other than to get elected and the next three to sell socialized medicine to a wary nation.

Lie One: No one will be compelled to buy coverage.

During the campaign, Obama insisted that he would not resort to an individual mandate to achieve universal coverage. In fact, he repeatedly ripped Hillary Clinton’s plan for proposing one. “To force people to buy coverage,” he insisted, “you’ve got to have a very harsh penalty.” What will this penalty be, he demanded? “Are you going to garnish their wages?” he asked Hillary in one debate.

Yet now, Obama is behaving as if he said never a hostile word about the mandate. Earlier this month, in a letter to Sens. Max Baucus, D-Mont., and Ted Kennedy, D-Mass., he blithely declared that he was all for “making every American responsible for having health insurance coverage, and making employers share in the cost.”

But just like Hillary, he is refusing to say precisely what he will do to those who want to forgo insurance. There is a name for such a health care approach: It is called TonySopranoCare.

Lie Two: No new taxes on employer benefits.

Obama took his Republican rival, Sen. John McCain, to the mat for suggesting that it might be better to remove the existing health care tax break that individuals get on their employer-sponsored coverage, but return the vast bulk–if not all–of the resulting revenues in the form of health care tax credits. This would theoretically have made coverage both more affordable and portable for everyone. Obama, however, would have none of it, portraying this idea simply as the removal of a tax break. “For the first time in history, he wants to tax your health benefits,” he thundered. “Apparently, Sen. McCain doesn’t think it’s enough that your health premiums have doubled. He thinks you should have to pay taxes on them too.”

Yet now Obama is signaling his willingness to go along with a far worse scheme to tax employer-sponsored benefits to fund the $1.6 trillion or so it will cost to provide universal coverage. Contrary to Obama’s allegations, McCain’s plan did not ultimately entail a net tax increase because he intended to return to individuals whatever money was raised by scrapping the tax deduction. Not so with Obama. He apparently told Sen. Baucus that he would consider the senator’s plan for rolling back the tax exclusion that expensive, Cadillac-style employer-sponsored plans enjoy, in order to pay for universal coverage. But, unlike McCain, he has said nothing about putting offsetting deductions or credits in the hands of individuals.

In other words, Obama might well end up doing what McCain never set out to do: Impose a net tax increase on health benefits for the first time in history.

‘Obama’ Think-Tank: Israel Should Cede Jerusalem Sovereignty
by Hillel Fendel

(IsraelNN.com) A think tank which is arguably the most influential in Washington is proposing an “interim” neutral administration to govern Jerusalem instead of Israel.

The Center for American Progress (CAP), headquartered just three blocks from the White House in Washington, is regarded as one of the most influential think tanks in the city, if not the most influential. “CAP has been an incubator for liberal thought and helped build the [Democratic party] platform that triumphed in the 2008 campaign,” according to a
Bloomberg.com report, which noted that some of the group’s recommendations were adopted by Obama while he was still president-elect.

Four weeks ago, CAP held a panel discussion based on the premise that the Old City of Jerusalem is the main impediment in finding a solution to the Israel-Arab problem in the Holy Land. Michael Bell, a former Canadian Ambassador to Jordan, Egypt and Israel, presented a plan entitled the Jerusalem Old City Initiative. The plan does not call for the internationalization of Jerusalem — but is not far off from that. It recommends that both Israel and a future state of Palestine appoint a third-party administrator that would run and police the city.

Bell explained that the plan calls for an administration or regime that would govern the Old City of Jerusalem for an interim period, without either Israel or the PA giving up their demands for sovereignty: “Frankly, I don’t think there’s going to be any agreement on sovereignty. I think that the two sides need not cede their demands for sovereignty; these claims can remain exactly as they are today. The sides would simply agree to delay the implementation or assertion of these claims until after an agreement is reached. Until then, a special administration would be set up, with the two sides agreeing to set this up, at least on an interim basis. And what this would do … would be to ensure dignity, human rights and equity for all living in the Old City, all visitors, and all pilgrims.”

Somalia militants Behead Christian Father’s Sons
Wednesday, July 1, 2009 (1:03 pm)
By BosNewsLife Africa Service

MOGADISHU, SOMALIA (BosNewsLife)– Muslim militants have beheaded two young boys in Somalia because their Christian father refused to hand over information about a church leader, a Christian news agency reported Wednesday, July 1.

Compass Direct News said militants from the Islamic extremist group al Shabaab were still searching for 55-year-old Musa Mohammed Yusuf, after killing his two young sons in February.

His sons, Abdi Rahaman Musa Yusuf, 11, Hussein Musa Yusuf, 12, and Abdulahi Musa Yusuf, 7, were apparently abducted February 21 during an al Shabaab raid on their family home in Yonday village, 30 kilometers (19 miles) from Kismayo in Somalia.

Soon after, two of them were beheaded, while the youngest son apparently managed to reach the home again, crying. “I watched my three boys dragged away helplessly as my youngest boy was crying,” said Yusuf’s wife Batula Ali Arbow in published remarks. “I knew they were going to be slaughtered.”

HUSBAND FLEES

The incident happened a day after her husband, who leads an underground church, was forced to flee as militants interrogated him about his relationship with Salat Mberwa, another church leader. Mbwerwa, who supervises a 66-member congregation, reportedly taught Yusuf about Christianity.

Yusuf eventually managed to reach a Kenyan refugee camp where he later met the surviving family members, Christians said. However they apparently were forced to leave their 80-year-old grandmother behind after burying the two sons.  Her whereabouts were unknown Wednesday July 1.

Confronting the New Islamic Imperialism
It is no longer European imperialism and colonialism, but Islamic imperialism and colonialism

By Daniel Greenfield  Wednesday, July 1, 2009CFP

Talk of colonialism and imperialism is all the rage when academic leftists sit down to critique the problems of terrorism and the clash of civilizations. But where a century ago terms such as colonialism and imperialism were easy enough to define, back when European governments held actual colonies and protectorates in Africa, Asia and the Middle East– what do the terms actually mean today?

There are no European colonies today. And the lands that are at the center of the controversy are themselves non-Muslim. When Muslims attack Europe, America or Israel… it may very well be imperialism and colonialism, but it is no longer European imperialism and colonialism, but Islamic imperialism and colonialism.

It is Islamic ideologies and nations that seek Lebensraum, that work to expand their way across borders and even oceans, to create colonies on foreign soil, spread their religion at the expense of native beliefs and hold governing power abroad.

Today it is no longer the European who sails to foreign countries to spread the faith and “civilize the savages”, it is the Muslim. The new Cecil Rhodes’ and William Walker’s are a lot more likely to be based out of Saudi Arabia or Pakistan. Their oppression and ruthless is equally directed at Europeans, as at Africans, Jews, Filipinos and any number of native peoples who stand in their way.

Long before the sun stared without setting down on the British Empire, Islamic Empires had been carved with brutal unyielding force across the face of the globe. Long before the American South saw a single slave, Muslim slave traders were moving human cargo back and forth, kidnapping and seizing slaves from Africa to the English coastline.

Islamic imperialism and colonialism was there long ago until recent times. The current clash of civilizations is the product of the Islamic attempt to revive those ancient empires they consider to have been wrongly taken from them.

To argue as the left does, that Islamic terrorism is the product of oppression, is as absurd and false as describing Nazi violence as the product of oppression. Any honest academic should have as much sympathy for Bedouin Muslim territorial claims to Israel or Spain, as he would for French claims to Algeria. Yet the academic double standard treats European colonialism as illegitimate, and Islamic colonialism as legitimate.

Muslim Mob Burns Down 100 Christian Homes in Pakistan
Riot Incited via Mosque Loudspeakers; Mob Throws Acid on Women and Children

07/01/09 Pakistan (International Christian Concern) – This morning 100 Christian houses and churches were set on fire by local Muslims in the city of Kasur South, east of Lahore, Pakistan. The riots were incited by broadcasts from local mosques.

This incident is similar to a February 1997 attack when thousands of Christian houses and churches were burned and hundreds of Christians were injured.

ICC partners received the news this morning and went immediately to the scene to help injured Christians transferred to Lahore, renting two mini vans for this purpose.

So far 9 burned women and 4 children have been transferred to Lahore for further medical treatment. All of them have been injured by throwing acid on them.

Local police have arrived on the scene but the situation is out of control as thousands of Muslims have gathered for this purpose.

More details to follow.

Please call the Pakistani embassy in your country to ask them to protect the Christians in Kasur South.

UK study: Shari’a courts ‘incompatible’

Posted 30 June, 2009 by Ronin
Categories: British Muslims, Creeping Sharia, Great Britain, Sharia

From our “We told you so department”

A simple comparison of basic human rights as guaranteed by Islamic governments should have been enough of a reason to outlaw sharia for all time but Brits are as slow as they are arrogant.

Jonny Paul, jpost correspondent in london 30 June, 2009, JPOST
Dozens of Islamic courts operating in the United Kingdom are “seriously out of step with trends in Western legislation,” according to a report published by London think tank Civitas on Monday.
-Duh!

Denis MacEoin, author of the Civitas report “Shari’a Law or One Law For All?” wrote that Shari’a rulings contained great potential for controversy and could involve acts contrary to UK legal norms and human rights legislation.
-Ok, you figured it out now fix it.

According to the report, Shari’a courts should not be recognized under Britain’s 1996 Arbitration Act, as they claim authority over the private lives of individuals in a way that is contrary to the British tradition.

“Among the rulings, we find some that advise illegal actions and others that transgress human rights standards as applied by British courts,” MacEoin wrote.

Examples set out in the study include a ruling that no Muslim woman may marry a non-Muslim man unless he converts to Islam, and that any children of a woman who does should be taken from her until she marries a Muslim.
-Westerners have attempted to wake up our governments to the truth of islam for years all we got for it was scorn, ridicule and threats.

Other rulings, according to the report, approve polygamous marriage and enforce a wife’s “duty” to have sex with her husband on demand.
-That one I can sort of understand (relax, I am kidding)

“The fact that so many Shari’a rulings in Britain relate to cases concerning divorce and custody of children is of particular concern, as women are not equal in Shari’a law, and Shari’a contains no specific commitment to the best interests of the child that is fundamental to family law in the UK. Under Shari’a, a male child belongs to the father after the age of seven, regardless of circumstances,” the report said.

“Thus, in October 2008, the House of Lords ruled that Shari’a was incompatible with human rights when a Lebanese woman sought asylum in the UK because, if she had been sent back to Lebanon, she would have been ordered to hand over her son to a violently abusive husband,” it added.
-A violently abusive husband, that could be any married muslim male. Read the rest of this post »

Schumer Drops PC-Speak in Effort to Push Amnesty Bill

Democrats play word games on immigration
By: Byron York
Chief Political Correspondent
June 30, 2009 – Washington Examiner

On June 24, Sen. Charles Schumer gave a remarkable speech on immigration.  Preparing the way for the Obama administration’s expected push for comprehensive reform, Schumer seemed to adopt a newer, tougher-sounding tone as he promised that a bill would be passed during “this Congress.”

“People who enter the United States without our permission are illegal aliens, and illegal aliens should not be treated the same as people who entered the United States legally,” Schumer said.

“Illegal immigration is wrong — plain and simple,” he continued. “When we use phrases like ‘undocumented workers,’ we convey a message to the American people that their government is not serious about combating illegal immigration, which the American people overwhelmingly oppose.”

Schumer can read the polls as well as anybody. He knows he can’t spout a bunch of pro-amnesty euphemisms and satisfy the voters’ desire for strict controls on illegal immigration. That means he has to at least adopt the language of toughness. So out goes that word cherished among many Democrats: “undocumented.”

Except not everyone got the message. The very next day, Schumer and other lawmakers met with President Barack Obama to discuss immigration. And guess what the president said? Not once, not twice, but three times:

» “We need a effective way to recognize and legalize the status of undocumented workers who are here.”

»  “[The American people are] concerned that any immigration reform simply will be a short-term legalization of undocumented workers with no long-term solution.”

»  “The 12 million or so undocumented workers are here [are a] group that we have to deal with in a practical, common-sense way.”

And not only that, just a few days earlier, at a prayer breakfast with a Hispanic group, Obama said we cannot “tolerate employers who exploit undocumented workers in order to drive down wages.”

That’s a lot of “undocumented.” Which suggests a question for Schumer. Do the president’s words convey a message to the American people that their government is not serious about combating illegal immigration?
