Education officials break down Stockton man’s door
Jun 8, 2011 – KXTV

STOCKTON, CA – Kenneth Wright does not have a criminal record and he had no reason to believe a S.W.A.T team would be breaking down his door at 6 a.m. on Tuesday.

“I look out of my window and I see 15 police officers,” Wright said.

Wright came downstairs in his boxer shorts as a S.W.A.T team barged through his front door. Wright said an officer grabbed him by the neck and led him outside on his front lawn.

“He had his knee on my back and I had no idea why they were there,” Wright said.

According to Wright, officers also woke his three young children ages 3, 7, and 11 and put them in a Stockton police patrol car with him. Officers then searched his house.

As it turned out, the person law enforcement was looking for was not there – Wright’s estranged wife.

“They put me in handcuffs in that hot patrol car for six hours, traumatizing my kids,” Wright said.

Wright said he later went to the mayor and Stockton Police Department, but the City of Stockton had nothing to do with Wright’s search warrant.

The U.S. Department of Education issued the search and called in the S.W.A.T for his wife’s defaulted student loans.

“They busted down my door for this,” Wright said. “It wasn’t even me.”

I stand corrected:  Orwellian AND Kafkaesque!!!

According to the Department of Education’s Office of the Inspector General, the case can’t be discussed publicly until it is closed, but a spokesperson did confirm that the department did issue the search warrant at Wright’s home.

So, now we are back to debtor’s prison?   Six states (Arkansas, Arizona, Illinois, Indiana, Minnesota, and Washington) allow debt collectors to seek arrest warrants for debtors in default.   I guess we can now add California to that growing list.

The Office of the Inspector General has a law enforcement branch of federal agents that carry out search warrants and investigations.

Stockton Police Department said it was asked by federal agents to provide one officer and one patrol car just for a police presence when carrying out the search warrant.

Stockton police did not participate in breaking Wright’s door, handcuffing him, or searching his home.

“All I want is an apology for me and my kids and for them to get me a new door,” Wright said.

That’s all, Kenny???  Have you ever heard of the 4th Amendment?  Oh, wait…  I forgot, you’re in Libtardland.  That explains it.  Carry on, Citizen…

  1. What a load of horse sh**!! Because of a guys EX… the Fed Guv broke into his house and conducted illegal activities!

Welcome to the USSA… (United Security States of America)

  2. Big Frank Says:

It won’t be long until this practice becomes Standard Operating Procedure. We are drifting into a police state with Stazi and Volkspolizi type enforcement,. What has happened to due process and the investigation of non violent cases? In a normal situation this would be handled by civil enforcement through the courts. It won’t be long before they bring back the debtors prisons.

Well, you know how those overly educated people are.

Clearly the use of SWAT to protect LEO’s from what could have been a catastrophe was completely warranted. The educated have all that innate mental agility with which to daze and confuse an LEO as they walk through the house looking for the smartest lookin’ one. Then there is the deplorable possibility of them setting a mantrap of an out of place preposition. And if the man of the house had not been quickly and alertly subdued, he may have had time to quickly implement a schism of quantum mechanics, allowing all financial records to instantly transport to an alternate universe. Yep, yep, you can’t be too careful with them educated types, what with the pen being mightier than the sword and all. Yessir, the LEO’s were fortunate to get out of that house without breaking into a debate over the absorption rate of diluted arabica extract in to circular pastries providing various forms of sweetened outer layers of liquid inhibitors. Gosh

I think this is a hoax. Drudge scrubbed the story. Dept. of Education issuing a warrant? The IG of any federal department has NO SUCH AUTHORITY. This warrant had better be issued by a federal judge and the warrant exercised by federal law enforcement. And who is Howard Nance listed on the warrant? I dunno but I think the journ-o-list has reemerged to push an agenda, manipulate your thinking, and ruin our lives.

  5. What I wanna know is why the show of force when the stupid guv should sued her!

    “Legal Action ”

“The Department and guaranty agencies also pursue recovery of defaulted student loan debts through litigation. If you refuse to voluntarily repay your student loan, you may be sued in State or Federal District Court for the outstanding balance plus attorney’s fees and court costs.”

    In the FAQ here:

    “Statute of Limitations ”

“By virtue of section 484A(a) of the Higher Education Act, statute of limitations of no kind now limits Department’s or the guaranty agency’s ability to file suit, enforce judgments, initiate offsets, or other actions, to collect a defaulted student loan. Regardless of the age of the debt, statutes of limitation are no longer valid defenses against repayment of a student loan.”

So now the guv has the right to use legal means to sue or do other inforcments to make us pay those loans.

    According to here:

SWAT Team DID NOT raid because of a Student Loan Default

True? False? I dont know anymore…

If this is true perhaps we should begin posting pictures along with addresses of these door kickers and their bosses. We have a lot of violent criminals out there in places like Stocton and they are just looking for a victim or two. Fortunately the gestapo is making the enemies of the kids that they will have to try to collect a pension from in the future and I suspect that pension will not be materializing. This doesn’t just turn kids against the these rats but in many cases the entire extended family as well. Way to go dummies!

Stockton Ca. We’re #2! On a scale of 100, 1 being the most crime ridden Stockton is a 2, a real pos.
I guess when you are a sewer of crime and you have an incredibly s****y police dept it is easier to go after a guy and his kids whose estranged wife took out a student loan. People get what they deserve and this guys attitude says it all, he just wants an apology, screw the next guy and his kids. Steer clear of Stockton.

Im looking for the state to move to that has the least amount of regulation. One that has a small number of guvmint dependents. Chances are this state will have few police as the residents there don’t require them. Now, what is that state?

      • Gonzo Says:

My guess is Alaska (except Anchorage). State-wide right to carry concealed, (gun control nuts hate them), and have less police per capita than any other State, (I think), or at least a very low #. Plus, plenty of open area to spread out. Crime appears way lower than national avg (outside of Anchorage).

        • tgusa Says:

I have thought about lower Alaska and I have always liked British Colombia but i would never live in Canada largely because of the extreme nanny disorder that exists there. Living in nanny-ville is worse than being water boarded. I only use the police as a gauge on crime, I think that is a better way than crime stats in determining the amount of crime in an area those stats can be skewed, the number of police cannot be skewed and that number will tell you the real story about crime in the area. No police, no crime, lots of police, lots of crime.

The only time I see police in my neighborhood is when they are taking a break, working in those areas they have to do, but break is break. Just recently my car was hit right in front of my house, that sort of stuff is happening more and more often. I”m not bothering calling the police, first, they probably wouldn’t respond for about a day or two and second, they wouldn’t be able to do anything about it. They can’t respond as the police resources have been utilized in other communities, we are seeing a lot of diversity out here and the more we see the less resources we that have been here have. No doubt I am still charged the same as they are perhaps even more. Well Im sick of subsidizing diversity and if Americans keep doing it they won’t have anything at all of their own..

Also, the fewer regulations means fewer citizen subsidized nosy nannies, which means more of your own money in your pocket. I suppose the number of public union employees is important too. A state that has privatized much of that stuff is probably going to prosper in the future. There is an opportunity right now for states to begin a new boom, all they have to do is provide an atmosphere where people are free to prosper, where energy is cheap and abundant and where the people are not drained of their futures for other peoples publicly funded, high on the hog or showpig, lifestyles. The main problem I have with Alaska is growing your own food, I mean, you can’t eat bear everyday, some people say that will make you sleepy, LOL.

In a nutshell, liberals have a great racket set up. We basically fund the existence of many all of them. Yes, there are two types of liberals, the getters and the givers, The givers get a salary to take and then give to the getters. All of this comes with a background of liberals fighting against modern progress. All liberal policies are regressive, not progressive. Less energy is regressive, less agriculture is regressive, less industry is regressive, less protection of the vulnerable is regressive. Sexualization of children is what we see in more primitive cultures, and on and on.

I just heard recently that a wind farm in Nor Cal is killing Bald Eagles at a rate that will not support the perpetuation of the species, they are being blown into extinction, regressive. Democrats should have to pay 50 percent to the statists while the rest of us, perhaps 10 percent, for the basics, Fire Sewers, etc. Look at where many of the top liberals live, places that look like some mafia kingpin lives there, all the while they decry us being against people. We are not against people just their kind of people. Its about time that liberals put their money where their mouths are.

          • tgusa Says:

We already have diversity among people, we always have but the pot grows larger. The easiest way to cure what ails us is a return to the national culture that promoted the values among all of us that made our country great. Even the talking heads will tell you that people from all over the world have come to America, and that was because of the American culture and all the great things that culture produced, it wasn’t just a place on the map. And one last damning thing about liberals, their sense of humor, well, they have no sense of humor and that really goes to the heart of us,, and it makes America an even less desirable place to be.

Remember, and this goes along Sesame St lines, in the beginning, to promote swat, they created a TV show. I always found it interesting that in the wake of the 60’s anti establishment revolution we soon began seeing swat created. Of course in those days you could see their faces and they weren’t wearing a whole lot of gear. The public thought of them as the crazy guys with weapons that you send in to get the crazy guy who has gone berserk with a weapon. Now we have school swat, not exactly 21 Jump St.

  9. Out of my morbid curiosity I sent a message to the DOE & here is thier response.

“Thank you for contacting the United States Department of Education.”

“The Office of Inspector General executed the warrant with the presence of local law enforcement authorities. While it was reported in local media that the search was related to a defaulted student loan, that is incorrect. This was part of an ongoing criminal investigation. The Inspector General’s Office does not execute search warrants for late loan payments. The Office of Inspector General conducts about 30-35 search warrants a year on issues such as bribery, fraud, and embezzlement of federal student aid funds.”

“Further inquiries can be made to the Office of Inspector General:”

Hmmmm IF the guv sent out warrents for those of us late or defaulted loans… Alot of us would be doing time right now…

That still doesnt justify the local swat from raiding the guys house though…

  10. Well fn…

Heres a better question to ask…

    Can liberals be violent policemen?

And even more importantly why is it that the leftists and liberals make violent anarchists and other types of riot thuggery?

Liberal and Conservative are just ideologies with no straight workable answers to Government or society.

Frankly both groups have the capability for violence and criminality…
