Saudi Arabia’s religious police arrested an Indonesian housemaid for casting a magic spell on a local family and “turning its life upside down,” a newspaper in the Gulf Kingdom reported on Tuesday.

The employer of the maid in the southern mountainous town of Bisha told members of the Commission for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice that he had noticed a drastic change in the behavior of his family members and that he suspected the maid was behind this.

“He said the behavior of all his family members changed completely and their life was turned upside down…he said he suspected the maid could have cast a magic spell on them,” Sabq Arabic language daily said.

“After arresting and investigating the maid, she confessed to having done magic work against the family and led them to the magic items that were hidden under the steps outside the front door…Commission experts took the magic items to their office and managed to dismantle and stop the spell.”

Sounds like a little mental game played by the maid to get away from her rapist master that tricked her in to being an indentured servant. I hope other maids in Arabia are taking notes.

Unfortunately for the maid she could easily loose her life as many before her have.

Saudi Arabia continues to use the death penalty for sorcery. In 2006 Fawza Falih Muhammad Ali was condemned to death for practicing witchcraft. There is no legal definition of sorcery in Saudi, but in 2007 an Egyptian pharmacist working there was accused, convicted, and executed. Saudi authorities also pronounced the death penalty on a Lebanese television presenter, Ali Sabat, while he was performing the hajj (Islamic pilgrimage) in the country.
Fawza Falih was condemned to death by a court in the town of Quraiyat after confessing under interrogation (torture) to having used sorcery to bewitch people.

…Saudi Arabia’s religious police, the Muttawa, arrested Falih in 2006, and after 35 days’ detention and interrogation, she signed a statement confessing to having been a witch. However, at trial Falih repudiated her confession, saying it had been extracted under torture. Human Rights Watch also charged the Saudi woman’s trial was flawed, alleging misconduct on the part of the judge and prosecutor.

Saudi Arabia Beheads Man Convicted of Sorcery

A migrant worker from the Sudan was beheaded yesterday as the punishment for practicing sorcery in Saudi Arabia. Amnesty International had campaigned to release the man with no avail.
A Sudanese man convicted of sorcery was beheaded by sword on Sept. 20, in Medina, Saudi Arabia. The Saudi Gazette says the Interior Ministry issued a statement saying the African had “’Practiced witchcraft and sorcery,’ which are illegal under Shariah law.”
Abdul Hamid bin Hussein Mostafa al-Fakki, a migrant worker from Sudan, was arrested in 2005 in Medina on charges of witchcraft, by the Mutawa’een, the religious police known as the Committee for the Propagation of Virtue and Prevention of Vice (talk about an oxymoron). His trial was held in secret in 2007 and according to Bikyamasr al-Fakki was found guilty of “Producing a spell designed to lead to the reconciliation of his client’s divorced parents.”

(Only in islam can you be put to death for what has been proved beyond a doubt is nothing more than the meaningless imaginings of superstitious men)

  3. Id like to know if the ‘maid’ was Filipina or from another country.

Just out of my morbid curiosity.

But more importantly this is just another case of ‘religious intolerance’ since her faith is not islamic.

    • Gonzo Says:

In the words of Wajeha Al-Huwaider, an MA from George Washington University and a Saudi woman of repute, ”We imagine that we are the cream of the crop and that we know right from wrong. We believe that women from other parts of the world are ill-mannered and lost. It is from that standpoint that we give ourselves the right to rob them of their existence and take away their basic rights by force. I consider her a friend, who helps me bear the burden of household chores and in bringing up my children”.

See. Fascist moslems are the bestests kinda friends one could hope for, as they are robbing, raping, beating, disfiguring, torturing, and murdering us infidels, because to have a fascist moslem as a friend, is to have a perfect example of manners.

Frankly infm, I would have thought that you would have picked up on that – it is so obvious ‘n’all.

As skeptical Westerners our thinking process consider islam like the superstiitous catholic Theocracy many centuries ago. Time to change moslems or remain the laughing stock of the religious world!

  5. Gonzo,

Of course… How silly of me to forget that moslems are ‘greater’ than the rest of the human creation.

After all in the (un)holy quran it says that ‘all religion will be for allah’ and that they are the ‘best of all peoples’.

Oh poor un-muslim… We are so lost and deranged…

    NOT!

    (SARCASM OFF!)

I hope a group of those ‘maids’ in Saudi beat the living p*** out of Wajeha Al-Huwaider and all other muslima who enforce thier bulls*** sharia on them.

Time to force islam an enema by dumping the quran, hadiths, sunna and all other documents and bring those backward savages into the 21st century!
