LifeWay Christian Resources Pulls its Bible from Walmart Shelves

Yeah, it sounds kind of odd at first, but read on and you’ll quickly discover that LifeWay Christian Resources was duped by the Susan G. Komen Foundation into inadvertently supporting Planned BarrenHood:

Christian publisher pulls ‘Cancer Awareness Bible’ over abortion concerns

By Dan Merica, CNN

Washington (CNN) – A Christian publisher is withdrawing copies of the “Cancer Awareness Bible,” from stores because the Bible helped raised money for the Susan G. Komen Foundation, which in turn contributed to Planned Parenthood.

Many conservative Christian groups oppose Planned Parenthood because of its role as an abortion provider, though many of the group’s services are not abortion-related.

The “Cancer Awareness Bible” is described “as a way to place God’s Word into the hands of those suffering through breast cancer.” It was published by B&H Publishing Group – a division of LifeWay Christian Resources, which is owned by the Southern Baptist Convention – and was sold with the stipulation that $1 from the sale of each book would go to the Komen Foundation to support breast health education, screening and treatment programs.

LifeWay Christian Resources also owns Lifeway Christian Bookstores, but the stores never carried the “Cancer Awareness Bible.” The book had been distributed to Wal-Mart, K-Mart and other retailers, according to Lifeway Christian Resources.

The [Susan G. Komen] foundation says on its website it gives money to Planned Parenthood, stating that funds from the foundation go to “Planned Parenthood-sponsored breast cancer health programs.”

When Lifeway realized it had partnered with an organization that donates to Planned Parenthood, the publisher released a statement saying that it had “made a mistake.”

“When our leadership discovered the overwhelming concern that some of Komen’s affiliates were giving funds to Planned Parenthood, we began the arduous process of withdrawing this Bible from the market,” said Thom S. Rainer, president and CEO of LifeWay, in a release.

“Though we have assurances that Komen’s funds are used only for breast cancer screening and awareness, it is not in keeping with LifeWay’s core values to have even an indirect relationship with Planned Parenthood,” he said.

Of course, the worshipers of Moloch will use ANY excuse to subvert Christianity—Even going so far as to pervert unabashed Christian Quarter Back Tim Tebow’s  touchdowns into an opportunity to raise cash for the abortion mills:

Abortion Gang: donate $10 to pro-abort group every time Tebow scores touchdown

by Patrick B. Craine

DENVER, Colorado, December 14, 2011 ( – A blogger with a popular pro-abortion blog is urging readers to “support” vocally pro-life NFL quarterback Tim Tebow by donating to a pro-abortion group every time he scores a touchdown this Sunday against the New England Patriots.

“For every touchdown Tebow throws next week … donate $5 or $10 to your local pro-choice organization,” urges ‘Sophia’ of the Abortion Gang blog.

“I figure this is indeed the best way to enjoy football, support Tim Tebow (more touchdowns, mannn!!!), and give, give, give to pro-choice organizations earning little to no glory, yet desperately in need of funds,” she adds.

“Even I, the anti-Tebow, anti-Bronco fan, basketball-loving woman that I am, have been rooting for him. Yeah, he’s that damn good,” writes Sophia at Abortion Gang.

“But it always feels a bit, well, wrong. How can I support a guy that’s openly anti-choice?” she asks.

“This is the same man that used the Super Bowl to a) build his reputation and brand as the saintliest saint of an athlete that ever lived, and b) raise money for an anti-choice organization that would deny the right to abortion to millions of women that need it. Yuck,” she adds.

“If you’re a sports fan that also thinks women should be able to do what they want, when they want, and how they want it with their uteri, you can join in this too.”

Sophia says she plans to continue the pledge into the playoffs if the Broncos make it.

How come women need a special charity? Are leftists saying that women are different than men?

I cannot stand organizations that use the word Christian to try to convince people they care about people. You are not fooling anyone and shame on you. I think when it’s your time, might find that your sins are too much too overlook.
