Energy Secretary Steven Chu Kinda’ Sorta’ Renounces Call for Higher Gas Prices

Environ-mentalism meets reality, or just another prevarication by the unctuous  purveyors of the Red Party?   You decide:

Chu renounces his desire for higher gas prices
byJoel Gehrke Commentary Staff WriterWashington Examiner

President Obama’s Energy Secretary, Steven Chu, renounced his previously-stated desire to see gas prices rise to match European levels in order to motivate alternative energy research, telling the Senate today that he wants gas prices to fall for the sake of the economy.

“We have to figure out how to boost the price of gasoline to the levels in Europe,” Chu said in 2008. When reminded of that comment today during his congressional testimony, Chu backed away from that position.

“I no longer share that view,” Chu told Sen. Mike Lee, R-Utah, today.  “When I became Secretary of Energy, I represented the United States government, and I think right now in this econonic, very slow, return  — these prices could very well affect the comeback of our economy,” he added.

In other words, right now and for the remainder of this election year, Chu will say or do anything to help Obama get reelected.  After that, all bets are off…

If the feds were really interested in alternative energy, they would not be hammering those folks that actually make a go at it. Sorry to rain on your parade if you think the feds actually are trying to impose alternative energy on us, but in reality, they take great pains to stifle it. Although, granted, on this they may flip flop too, depending on whose interest is currently the highest bidder.

Many a private citizens have been fiscally, and darn near physically attacked for going off grid.

A woman in CT was told she could be jailed for running a mini hydro generator. Big Brother and Big Power do not like competition.

And all she probably wanted was something to eat!

I know it is hard for some to believe, you really had to be there but that was the way it was in many areas of the country back then and it wasn’t just Vietnam vets that were being treated that way it was a lot of Americans being treated that way. That is one reason I get so angry today when I see real laws being broken and yet ignored.

The reason that the attempted anti war movie Rambo did not turn our as they expected is because Rambo was a reflection of how many Americans thought and felt but would never have said out loud. John didn’t start it but he did finish it when pushed to the wall. John Rambo is now a part of our culture in many more ways than his abusers are and that is no accident.

The fact is the media and Hollywood did not know who we were then and today they don’t either. I hope our brave troops understand, its not what we are saying but what we are thinking that is most important. Never let these jerks play you for a sucker although I cannot imagine anyone playing you for a sucker and getting away with it Big Frank.

I’m getting quite sick and very tired or these world socialist types comparing us to Europe. The countries are smaller. more people live in cities, far fewer folks own their own homes, and the standard of living is nothing like the US. BTW the reason for the $9.00 per gallon price is the draconian and exorbitant tax on fuel. They not only tax fuel but everything at a 15 to 19 % rate, to fuel their socialist way of life. The money has to come from somewhere, however most folks don’t get it, they still think if it comes from the government somehow it’s ‘free’.

NO one, repeat no one in the administration of our ‘Dear Leader’ makes, or later withdraws any statement without official permission from the ‘central committee’ or the ‘politburo’.
