Nebraska Father Speaks Out Against Obama’s Kumbayah Warfare Tactics After Son Killed in Afghanistan

Hey, I’ve been telling you folks for years now that Obama’s Rules of Engagement are getting our fighting men and women slaughtered over in Afghanistan.  (See HERE, HERE, HERE, HERE, HERE, HERE, and probably a number of other posts).

In fact, I remind you daily, via a graphic along the right side of our main page, of the continually escalating toll Obama has exacted upon our men and women in uniform via his insane ideological Kumbayah warfare tactics.

While I am deeply saddened at Lance Cpl. Hunter Hogan’s senseless death in Afghanistan, I am encouraged by the family’s willingness to speak out against Obama and his insane Kumbayah warfare tactics.  I only wish more families would do so.  Perhaps then, our politicians and Generals will pressure Obama into dropping these fatuously insane and deleterious Rules of Engagement—Of course, that’s assuming Obama has plans to actually win this war and isn’t just using it to give his Islamic buddies some more target practice:

Statement by the father of Lance Cpl. Hunter “H.D.” Hogan
via Omaha World Herald

Lance Cpl. Hunter “H.D.” Hogan entered the USMC 26 OCT. 2009.

He served with the 1st Battalion, 8th Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Division.

The most outstanding custom in the Marine Corps is simply “being a Marine” and all that it implies. Call it morale, call it esprit de corps, call it what you will — it is that pride which sets a United States Marine apart from the other armed services. It is not taught in manuals, yet it is the most impressive lesson a recruit learns in boot camp. It is not tangible, yet it has won fights against material odds. Perhaps Sen. Paul H. Douglas has best defined it:

“Those of us who have had the privilege of serving in the Marine Corps value our experience as among the most precious of our lives. The fellowship of shared hardships and dangers in worthy cause creates a close bond of comradeship. It is the basic reason for the cohesiveness of Marines and for the pride we have in our corps and our loyalty to each other.”

Lance Corporal Hunter “H.D.” Hogan was proud of his Corps and believed it to be second to none. He was loyal to his comrades and to the Marine Corps, adhering always to the motto Semper Fidelis, Always Faithful.

H.D. on his personal side was all about, as he said the 3 F’s… family, friends, and fun. With emphasis on fun! Hunter lived his life at 110 miles per hour. Whether it be his passion for rodeo and bucking horses, his enthusiasm hunting and fishing, or with his time in the Marine Corps.

H.D. had the ability to make people around him push themselves to be better at whatever they were doing. Be it with a quick witted comment or on occasions with his brutally honest sharp tongue. Hunter was a man that people gravitated to. Recent comments that have been posted to his Facebook page trumpet one thing about this young man. Saying not that H.D. was my best friend in 2nd grade or in football or in high school rodeo. Going down the list of posts they all began or ended with H.D. was my best friend, period. And there are few better than him to have on your side.

Hunter had opportunities to college rodeo. He chose the Marine Corps instead. Saying that he just wanted to serve his country for 4 years and he’d get back to rodeing afterwards. In doing so it brought him into the love of his life, Brittney. He was never so happy as when they were married on December 29, 2010. For those of you who were blessed to be around them, you all knew that they were a perfectly matched couple. You could also see the true pure love that they had for each other.

We as family and friends of H.D. have all suffered a tremendous blow with the loss of this amazing young Hero. But through this tragedy some wonderful positives have begun to emerge.

His wife and father have decided as these positive things are popping up, that H.D.’s up in heaven with us all in a pot. And he’s occasionally reaching into it with a stick and giving it a quick little stir. Then sitting back with his crooked grin and giggling.

Hunter H.D. Hogan (pause) Fearless and Brave (pause) Man, he sure could Cowboy.

We as family and friends of Lance Cpl. Hogan and other service members, want to know why the media in our country has coddled instead of covered this Teflon coated administration!

We listened every night on the news for 8 years with the previous administration the casualty reports. With the present administration nothing is reported!

With the news of our recent loss of H.D. and others in his battalion, many people have made statements like “I didn’t think anything was going on there anymore.” “I thought the Marines were leaving there.” Etc. etc.

Here’s the statistics in Afghanistan for the 8 years of George Bush. The total killed in action under him is 660. Barack Obama in 3 years and 5 months the total killed in action is a total of 1,398.

[Note:  I don’t know where Mr. Hunter got his casualty report from.  It is slightly in error according to my sources, but is of little consequence since the main point is, Obama is busy killing our men and women at an alarming rate.  (See  icasualties.org and JustForeignPolicy.org for a more accurate tally).]

Wounded under George Bush is 2,637 in 8 years. Wounded under Obama up to January 31st of this year is 11,529.

Why isn’t the media covering this instead of covering the protestors of these brave service men and women’s funerals?

The policies of this current administration and the rules of engagement are a huge factor with these casualty reports. The limited air and artillery support our men receive. The limited company level support such as motors, as well as the approval to return fire are hampering and adding to the danger they are in daily. Not to mention the severely limited night operations, that is approved, because it scares the Afghan people.

Let the military run the war. They are the professionals. Or get our people out of there.

How many more black walls full of names are we going to build?

We would like to invite everyone out on July 20th and 21st to Junction Motor Speedway in McCook, Neb. where the H.D. Hogan Memorial Bull Ride will be held on that Friday and Saturday night. A huge tribute to the Armed Forces will be held both nights with donations made to the H.D. Hogan Memorial Rodeo Scholarship Fund with Cornerstone Bank.

  1. SEMPER FI BROTHER! God Bless you DEVIL DOG! May Jesus welcome you into his paradise!

  2. Big Frank Says:

May God rest his soul and give his family comfort. I am sickened when the prime of our youth come home in metal boxes via Dover AFB, rather then being welcomed by hugs, kisses and thanks from grateful citizens for a job well done.s As I have stated many times IMHO these Politically Correct, asinine and, totally ludicrous ‘rules of engagement’ that are patterned to please the whining liberals in the MSM, political class, and the spineless diplomats in the useless UN. There is no such thing as a ‘nice’, soft, or easy way to eliminate one’s enemy , threats to our nation, or western civilization at large.

  3. Me Says:

We shouldn’t be there… period! Between these two “wars” Bush deaths 4,852, Obama Deaths 1,672… each one of them was one to many.. nothing to do with “our freedoms” only “our material needs”

  4. Of course there was a reason to go there ‘me’…

“THIN THE HERD!” And of course kill off thier leaders which included bin-laden with the exception of shooting the bastard in paki-stan. But oh well. At least we’re ‘saving’ the planet by removing a bunch of uneducated jiahists.

  5. Leatherneck Says:

After the first 2 months the enemy was defeated, and running to their Masters in Pakistan. We should have came home, and invaded Mexico, and built up the southern border with a country that wants to work.

For some reason, the US military is being used like cheap security, and the ROE are BS.

G-d’s Speed to our fallen, and our wounded.

    • Big Frank Says:

Amen. I agree the only ones who seem to be winning are the companies connected with the ‘military industrial complex. While I am totally in favor of a strong and well equipped military, and when used there should be no holding back, no Mr. nice guy. Once you get the attention of the enemy by kicking ass and taking names for real, the rest is easy. Nation building should be left to the wimps in the useless UN, let them leave their cozy offices and go forth and spread the message of peace that falls on to deaf ears.

  6. Bruce Morgan Says:

Lest we forget these men and women of ours that sacrifice all for the sake of peace and country. I still serve for the British Army in Germany, i am a Warrant Officer of 22 years with the Royal Engineers of Her Majesty’s Forces. Seen a few too many die unecessarily. Hats of to the US and Marines.

    • Leatherneck Says:

I did some training with the Royal Marines in the Scottish Highlands. Dam fine men. Have they let women in to screw it up? No pun intended.

      Kill
