Americans buy record numbers of guns for Christmas

2 January, 2012

I own no firearms (at least the registered variety) those things are dangerous. I stopped that nonsense years ago. Every weapon that could ever be traced back to me by old paper records has been sold, traded or given away. I own zero firearms, if you do not believe me then check the records, let the guvment find out where they went. Did I mention that I recently picked up a sweet little firearm like object capable of sending projectiles at high velocity? You have to love Christmas.

Now I am not advocating any of you to break any laws. I will simply remind you all that the biggest threat to your firearms might not be a sixteen year old thief crawling in your back window. If that is really what you are afraid of then by all means register one firearm just to be on the safe side should you feel the need to shoot a crack addicted teenager crawling through your window. Some of us have additional concerns past the punk kid.

By Nick Allen, Jan 3, year zero, the Telegraph
According to the FBI, over 1.5 million background checks on customers were requested by gun dealers to the National Instant Criminal Background Check System in December. Nearly 500,000 of those were in the six days before Christmas.
-God bless all law abiding Americans.

It was the highest number ever in a single month, surpassing the previous record set in November.

On Dec 23 alone there were 102,222 background checks, making it the second busiest single day for buying guns in history.
-I feel liberals sweating

The actual number of guns bought may have been even higher if individual customers took home more than one each.
-Not likely, guns are expensive. Most bought only one.

Explanations for America’s surge in gun buying include that it is a response to the stalled economy with people fearing crime waves. Another theory is that buyers are rushing to gun shops because they believe tighter firearms laws will be introduced in the future.
-That would be my biggest concern if I owned any.

The National Rifle Association said people were concerned about self defence because police officer numbers were declining.
-I asked a few of my friends in the LEO community what they would do if ordered to seize weapons and all to a person said “quit” now do you feel safe? (more…)

Year Zero

1 January, 2012

Happy Year Zero. 2012, (the former name) is our last chance to save what freedoms are left in the USA and for each of us to decide-freedom or slavery, rights over comfort, stand fast or cave. This is the year that determines if America will remain a symbol of freedom or morph into a symbol of oppression.

I have a few bets with my military and law enforcement friends that the 2012 elections will never happen. Or they will happen but massive voter fraud will make them meaningless. In order to understand why I feel that way you must first take a quick look back at all the drama, corruption and attacks that our nation has endured under the current regime: The non stimulating stimulus, High unemployment, Inflation, Control of the media, Bailouts, Scandals, Fast and Furious, Control of the occupy movement, Ignorance of the threat posed by hard line Muslims in the USA including ignoring their stated reasons to attack fellow Americans, Connections to Arab uprisings over old allies, Support for Islamic supremacy organizations inside the USA, Global warming pushed with no scientific backers or evidence, Support to U.N. programs to build global controls over, firearms, media, limit freedom of speech and religion, Support for unions over workers, Failures of foreign policy, Green jobs, Missing bailout money, Questionable birth certificates, Agenda driven Judges, Homosexual rights over the majority vote, senior officials dismissing the constitution over their own agendas.

I will admit that was a shortlist and I could have written pages to support each of those and more. What is more important is the pattern. Each of those categories works within the system to bring us to our knees.

History has proven that governments with absolute power absolutely protect that power while craving even more. I simply see parallels with other historical regimes that chose a crack down on dissenters over a peaceful transition of power. I expect our current regime to do no less than crack down on dissenters. I would be shocked but happy to be wrong on this but I am predicting that some yet to be named national disaster will suddenly appear and force the USA to “postpone” the 2012 election. Why? Because Obama cannot win and I do not think that he will just walk away. Our ruling elite might be corrupt and incompetent but they are not stupid, they understand the people are starting to scrutinize their actions and they do not like what they see. Not only is our president worried but so are the rest of our loving leaders, the congress and possibly most activist judges should all be refreshing their resumes. With elections comes an out with the old and in with the new hope for the future. That is not a future our leadership wants to see. (more…)

Anonymous donors pay off Kmart layaway accounts

16 December, 2011

I thought it was about time that we ran some good news. Stories like this are more common than people think. America is special because American’s are special. This story will remind you of what is really important in life.

For the last few years, I have dropped off Cash at area Churches and asked the pastor to give it to whoever needs it most. I never place limits on it, as much as I see the need to give Christmas to kids, I would be equally happy if it helped pay a bill or buy a nice meal. The idea is simple, help someone and just look for the opportunity to perform a random act of kindness.

Margery A. Beck, 15 Dec 2011, (AP)
OMAHA, Neb. (AP) — The young father stood in line at the Kmart layaway counter, wearing dirty clothes and worn-out boots. With him were three small children.

-My normal dress is dirty clothes and worn-out boots but don’t be sending old Ronin any gifts. I do encourage everyone to help someone. Pay a bill for them, hire someone to do a chore (or do it yourself) a chore they cannot afford or just do not have the time to do.

He asked to pay something on his bill because he knew he wouldn’t be able to afford it all before Christmas. Then a mysterious woman stepped up to the counter.

“She told him, ‘No, I’m paying for it,'” recalled Edna Deppe, assistant manager at the store in Indianapolis. “He just stood there and looked at her and then looked at me and asked if it was a joke. I told him it wasn’t, and that she was going to pay for him. And he just busted out in tears.”

At Kmart stores across the country, Santa seems to be getting some help: Anonymous donors are paying off strangers’ layaway accounts, buying the Christmas gifts other families couldn’t afford, especially toys and children’s clothes set aside by impoverished parents.

Before she left the store Tuesday evening, the Indianapolis woman in her mid-40s had paid the layaway orders for as many as 50 people. On the way out, she handed out $50 bills and paid for two carts of toys for a woman in line at the cash register.

“She was doing it in the memory of her husband who had just died, and she said she wasn’t going to be able to spend it and wanted to make people happy with it,” Deppe said. The woman did not identify herself and only asked people to “remember Ben,” an apparent reference to her husband.

-Rest in Peace Ben, your wife is one special woman and her love for you has helped encourage entire families. God Bless her.

Deepe, who said she’s worked in retail for 40 years, had never seen anything like it.
“It was like an angel fell out of the sky and appeared in our store,” she said.
Most of the donors have done their giving secretly.

Dona Bremser, an Omaha nurse, was at work when a Kmart employee called to tell her that someone had paid off the $70 balance of her layaway account, which held nearly $200 in toys for her 4-year-old son.

-I do not know many people with the resources to do this sort of thing but some of you can do other smaller random acts of kindness. Help someone this weekend. If you cannot pay off a bill, leave a Christmas card with just kind words on their door. Call on a elderly neighbor and bring a nice pie with you. People need encouragement, especially in this economy. (more…)

A look back and a look forward

A look back and a look forward

I wanted to do a piece on the ten-year anniversary of the attacks on 9-11. After several attempts, I erased them all and started over. Not to take away from the significance of the date, I see it as one blow in a long struggle.

What follows below is a series of thoughts, lessons learned and comments. It is a look back and a look forward.

By Ronin, 11 Sept, 2011. Islam is not limited to armed terrorists. The political arm and taqiyya masters have done more damage to the USA and the world than the so-called fighters have. People too weak to look for themselves at the mountains of evidence that islam has been nothing but a blight on humanity, continue to preach that somehow it will change, adapt and modernize. They are wrong.

Despite the thousands of people (many of which have been muslims) that have attempted to prove Doctor Bulldog and myself wrong on islam and the other threats facing this country. We are still here, still committed to this fight and will remain so, Islam has never been the main focus of this site, it has however, taken much needed time for other threats.

Muslims in the USA face increased scrutiny and suspicion. Many are teased daily and at some level realize that they will have a hard time earning the trust of neighbors, friends and co-workers, if they ever can.

Sharia is now a four-letter word, just the mentions of the term is quick to incite a powerful backlash. The guiding form of islam is seen for what it it is, a primitive, sexist, oppressive, racist and violent series of rules governing a massive cult. It has no place in free society.

Americans have learned to distrust all things islam, despite their allies in the left of center and a few misguided religious groups on the right the average American is more islamicaware than ever.

American politicians are seen as corrupt, incompetent and in some cases traitors. They are seen as pro islamic and anti Christian. They deserve the scrutiny, the simple fact that any of them want to limit free speech is proof that they fear the truth. If their records did not show them to be slaves to special interests and committed to bending, breaking or ignoring the principles and protections quarantined by our founding fathers, they would welcome a look at their records. Citizen U.S.A. The Reality

9 July, 2011

I read this a few days a go and could not wait to comment on it. I found it interesting and think that you will agree. The article touches on a few truths, minority progressives do not understand that democracy means the majority sets the rules not the other way around.

The vast majority of immigrants both legal and illegal improve their lives just by making it here. It is always good to read the story of a new citizen that earned a chance, excelled and most importantly appreciates everything this great country has done.

By Dr. Ileana Johnson Paugh 7 July 7, 2011, Canada Free Press
My American citizenship was an arduous journey, years in the making. It took mountains of paperwork on both sides of the Atlantic. Papers had to be translated from and into English, notarized, fiscally stamped, taxed, and approved. Appointments had to be made with various officials and officers of the law.

Security Police interrogations and screenings were performed. Were you ever a Communist, how much debt did you have, did you have a savings account, did you have a job, who was going to support you, who was going to pay my medical bills, did I speak English, did I pass the American Government test, was I literate, and who was the president. And the questions never stopped until the American government was sure that I would not be a burden on the American taxpayers and would be a contributing citizen to this wonderful republic.

Things have changed dramatically. Now prospective and future American citizens come to hearings with their translators in tow. The American government has to provide them with translations in Spanish of any piece of paper they have to fill out.

If foreign nationals come to court, although some of them have lived in the U.S. for 23 years and speak English, they prefer to give testimony in Spanish, out of respect for their first language. What about the respect for those present in the courtroom who conduct business in the language of the land, English?
-Nice point, reality is we can take out pick from the best the world has to offer. Until we see millions sneaking into China maybe, we should be picky. If you do not want to learn English then stay where you are.

Voting rolls are translated into Spanish and school curricula are provided in two languages, at great expense to the taxpayer. Hospitals must provide translators to illegal aliens who flock to the emergency rooms as if they are doctors’ offices. Companies display every sign in their stores both in English and Spanish and phone calls are answered only after pressing one for English.

The ceremony of becoming a citizen is a sacred one – one swears allegiance to America, to the republic and everything it stands for. You swear to honor and preserve its culture, its symbols, its flag, and its national anthem. You do not have the right to wave and display the flag of your former country in the face of Americans while telling them that America will soon be yours because it was stolen from you.
-Actually, they do have a right to free speech but we also have a right to send them back. (more…)

Prepare now for next year

26 December, 2010

By Ronin, 26 Dec, 2010
I know the title sounds a little apocalyptic but I am not predicting the end of the world, the end of America or a serious zombie attack. What I am recommending is a few life alterations and a new attitude.

This Christmas, I out gave what I received by a wide margin not because I am rich, generous or felt a higher powers encouragement. I did it because I am old and noticed my friends, what family remains and neighbors struggling. It seems everyone needs a little love. The numbers do not lie, that many people hurting cannot be explained away as they overspent or have only themselves to blame. No doubt, many are guilty of not planning ahead or preparing for a rainy day but let’s skip blame and seek solutions.

Look around and a pattern will rapidly form, people have less, can afford less and everything we use costs us all more than it did this time last year. Unless something positive happens it will continue to worsen.

I did my after Christmas research at my two favorite stores: Wal-Mart and Harbor Freight. Both sell foreign made junk but this was research not a purchase foreign made junk trip.

What I discovered will not surprise any of you. Food prices are up, fuel prices are up, and tools are up. Consumables of all types are up and worst yet imported goods continue to go up. Even crap cost more than it did last year.

When I was a boy, we took advantage of neighbors, family, friends and social groups, if someone needed it, the people stepped up and miracles happened. Crops were planted or harvested, vehicles, fixed, barns and homes raised. People helped other people. Most of you cannot name three families that live on your street.

When is the last time that you saw a neighbor with a puzzled look on his or her face and a raised hood? Did you stop, introduce yourself and offer any help? Did you explain that that you recently used a mechanic and had a number; did you offer them a ride? Seen anyone working on his or her yard and just drove on by without even a wave? When was the last time that you put a bag in your car to hand out to the homeless? Is a zip lock with a few energy bars, a few dollars and a warm pair of socks going to break you? Do you think that looking straight ahead and ignoring them is going to help them?

Still reading? I guess you see yourself as guilty at least on some counts. Here is what I think we should all do. Community organizers caused this entire mess but it can also fix it. Organize yourselves without government interference.

At a bare minimum. Get any neighbor within line of sight of your home and make a call list, emails, work, home and cell numbers. Neighbors could respond in an emergency faster than anyone found on 911. Organize your churches, sports clubs, co-workers and whatever groups you belong to. You should be buying in bulk (American first) making lists of craftsmen that you trust, stores with sales and with a little work you can expand to bartering for work, goods, babysitters, whatever you need. Trade goods for food, food for work, do something to help someone. A list of trusted craftsmen is worth its weight in gold, a similar list could include retirees and social interests.

In short, take care of yourselves; get involved in fixing the mess your hated elected officials caused. The people will always do what the government cannot or will not. Everyone that I helped understands that I paid for him or her to help someone else. A little help goes a very long way. Buy local, help keep your own neighbors working and challenge them to pay it forward.

Call me old fashioned but I believe in America. Talk to fifty random people and you will discover welders, mechanics, electricians, accountants. Hard working men and women that know how to work, build and improve their situations. If you want worthless, whiners interested in blaming others, call a congressional representative. If you want improvement then just look around you. Your friends, family and neighbors built the greatest country ever imagined they can do it again.

I will do more of these types of articles in the future, suggestions to improve your situation, protect your own and help others, feel free to start adding helpful tips. I might not trust everyone in our government but I trust Americans. Clean up, build up and get up.

Incumbents Take Notice

14 September, 2010

This is just one battle but the message is clear-this is not about party. All incumbents need to take note. Half of them blatantly ignored your wishes, values and goals for their own self-serving agendas, the rest failed to stop them. It is time to Get Rid of Incumbent Politicians (GRIP).

Help put congress in the long unemployment lines they helped build.

By RANDALL CHASE, 14 Sep, 10, (AP) WILMINGTON, Del. – Conservative activist Christine O’Donnell earned a stunning victory in Delaware’s Republican Senate primary Tuesday, riding a wave of tea party anger and advertising dollars to oust U.S. Rep. Michael Castle.

O’Donnell’s shocking win gave new energy to the tea party movement, which targeted Castle after victories by Republican tea party candidates in the Alaska and Nevada Senate primaries.

With 78 percent of precincts reporting, O’Donnell had 54 percent to 46 percent for Castle, a former two-term governor and the longest serving congressman in Delaware history.

While attracting enough GOP conservatives to defeat Castle, a leader of Republican moderates in Congress, O’Donnell will have a hard time defeating Democrat Chris Coons in November for the Senate seat vacated by Joe Biden after he was elected vice president.

But voters nevertheless took their chances on O’Donnell, who characterized Castle as a liberal who sides with big-spending Democrats more than he does with fellow Republicans.

“I think Castle is too liberal,” said Robert Manning, 56, a design engineer from Georgetown who voted for O’Donnell.
-Reality is this years elections are easy, out with the old and in with the new. (more…)

Hey, Obama, How About Telling the World About America’s Predisposition for Tolerance?

29 August, 2010

The simple answer is that the Left hates America.  Since Obama is also a Lefturd, he naturally concentrates on the bad minutia and rarely acknowledges the plethora of good that IS America:

Why can’t Barack Obama tell the world about American tolerance?
The controversy over the ‘Ground Zero mosque’ has portrayed the United States as a land of bigots. Toby Harnden wonders why the US President has helped fuel this myth.
Toby Harnden’s American Way –

It took a Manhattan taxi driver called Ahmed Sharif to speak out for America, which is being vilified as bigoted and Islamophobic because of the controversy generated by opposition to the so-called “Ground Zero mosque”.

The United States was his dream country, he enthused, and he loved New York City. “I feel like I belong here. This is the city actually [for] all colours, races, religion, everyone. We live here side by side peacefully.”

Which was a pretty noble sentiment coming from a man whose throat had been slashed by a drunken, deranged passenger who had inquired whether he was a Muslim before pulling out a knife and shouting “Peace be upon you” in Arabic.

As the whole world knows, there is a furore raging over the proposed building of a 15-storey Islamic community centre, containing a mosque, two blocks from Ground Zero, site of the 9/11 terrorist attacks by al-Qaeda.

America’s liberal elites have been falling over themselves to denounce their country and fellow citizens as anti-Muslim xenophobes who don’t understand that it was not all followers of Islam who were responsible for the atrocities of 2001.

Certainly, some Americans opposed to what is now known as the Park51centre (its previous name of Cordoba centre, a reference to a mosque built in Spain on the site of a Christian church to symbolise a Muslim victory, did not quite strike the right public relations note) are motivated by bigotry.

But it was the centre’s Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf himself who linked its purpose to its proximity to the Ground Zero site. It is entirely valid to question whether this is the right approach to building interfaith bridges.

Rauf, who once described the US policies as “an accessory to the crime” of 9/11, stated in Bahrain last week that all the “attention is a sign of the success of our efforts” – an utterance that shows he is stupid, mischievous or worse.

July 4th, Americans, celebrate our freedoms

4 July, 2010

By Ronin, 4 July, 2010

July 4th is the day we Americans celebrate our freedoms and our independence from Great Britain. With one small document and a room full of men, our ancestors changed the world. We will celebrate their success with great fanfare, parades, flags, fireworks, barbeques, and visits with family and friends.

While we celebrate, a major portion of our military will miss the festivities. They are deployed in over a hundred countries. Some facing death, some are helping rebuild lives and countries, some are on watch. All are defending the same freedoms as their ancestors. To all of them, past, present and future, thank you.

We as a nation have been bloodied; hurt economically and seen our very freedoms under attack by a ruthless and committed enemy, some we failed to recognize and placed into office. Others are external, they are legion, and we are ready and able to stand our ground.

No matter where our enemies are, no matter whom they are, all of them need just take a hard look at our past and they will realize. We will fight for our rights and freedoms with the same zeal and tenacity as those that held the line before us; those on the line now and those that will follow them. My advice to our enemies is simply this-get right with your God before you face us. We will help you meet him or her, face to face.

American was invented so mixed races; cultures, religions, and people from all economic levels could triumph over adversity. We are all Americans. There is no average American, no type or model fits us, we are uniquely cut from the same cloth. We are free and will fight to stay that way. As long as America exists, those that seek to oppress the people and rule in fear will live in fear themselves. God bless America.

Hillary Clinton says ‘vise’ of intolerant governments is crushing global activists

3 July, 2010

This administration once again shows hypocrisy. Nothing it has done was meant to protect the rights of Americans much less activists. At one time America did stand for individual rights and freedoms but not now. I do not know how hillery could even give such a speech and hold a straight face.

By Robert Burns, 3 July, 10, (AP)
KRAKOW, Poland — Intolerant governments across the globe are “slowly crushing” activist and advocacy groups that play an essential role in the development of democracy, U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton said Saturday.
-Maybe she should be complaining that democracy in the USA is slowly slipping away. Nah, she wants it too.

She cited a broad range of countries where “the walls are closing in” on civic organizations such as unions, religious groups, rights advocates and other nongovernmental organizations that press for social change and shine a light on governments’ shortcomings.

Among those she named were Zimbabwe, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Ethiopia, Cuba, Egypt, Iran, Venezuela, China and Russia.
-Am I missing something, are any of those places, failing to control their borders, slowly changing their own history with corrupted textbooks and spending their nations treasure to enrich themselves?

“Some of the countries engaging in these behaviors still claim to be democracies,” Clinton said at an international conference on the promotion of democracy and human rights. “Democracies don’t fear their own people. They recognize that citizens must be free to come together, to advocate and agitate.”
-I really do not understand how that woman can face herself in a mirror. She is a disgrace and a traitor to her own people and yet is so self-rightous that she gives advice to others.

Before an audience of several hundred senior government officials, Clinton recalled Winston Churchill’s warning 60 years ago at Fulton, Mo., that an iron curtain was descending across Europe. She noted that with the collapse of the Soviet Union, that curtain no longer remains.

“But we must be wary of the steel vise in which governments around the world are slowly crushing civil society and the human spirit,” she said. Social activists, Clinton said, are being harassed, censored, cut off from funding, arrested, prosecuted or killed.

President Barack Obama, in a statement released in Washington, said the United States is particularly concerned about “the spread of restrictions on civil society, the growing use of law to curb rather than enhance freedom and widespread corruption that is undermining the faith of citizens in their governments.”
-That is rich coming from him. If there is a hell, he will be awarded a mansion in it. He is about as pro democracy and rights as Stalin. I am stopping without reading the rest. Watching the people destroying America while lecturing others for doing the same thing to their own countries is too much. (more…)
