City in Missouri Cracks Down on Girl Scouts Selling Cookies in Front of Their Home

Yup, it’s the Libtard way:  Keep beating the poor kids down until they lose all of their entrepreneurial, capitalist spirit:

HAZELWOOD, Mo. (KMOX/AP) – The city of Hazelwood says they do support the Girl Scouts but not when they are violating the home occupancy code.

They’d been warned, but the city says the Girl Scouts Abigail and Caitlin Mills continued to sell Girl Scout cookies from a stand in front of their home. A neighbor complained anonymously because of all the people and the traffic and the dogs barking at all the people and the traffic.

“Based on this complaint, the city of Hazelwood had to take action,” says spokesman Tim Davidson. He says it is also against city code to sell products from home.

[…]
But the girls’ mother, Carolyn Mills, is vowing to let them keep selling their cookies, until they reach their goal of 2,000 purchases.

She says the cookie stand is equally important as a learning opportunity. “This is teaching leadership, communication, entrepreneurship,” Mills explains. “They’re getting to know the value of money, and how to keep people from ripping you off.”

Good for you, Mrs. Mills!  Don’t let these freakin’ commie-huggers brainwash your children into mediocrity!  Else, your children will grow up relying on the government for handouts!

Mills says the cookie stand has been a six year tradition, that started by chance. “We were parked in the driveway, counting the cookies in the back of the van, when suddenly a car pulled up and the driver asked if we had any extras,” explained Mills. “And then another car pulled up. And another.”

The girls, ages 14 and 16, are still about 300 boxes short of their goal.

Update:

HAZELWOOD, Mo. (KMOX/AP) — The battle of the cookies is over in Hazelwood.

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that on Wednesday, the Rev.George Hutchings, who is known as “The Shoeman” for collecting shoes to benefit Kenya, bought the last 36 boxes.

Hutchings took some boxes and told the mother and daughters to give the rest to neighbors.

Yeah, right.   I wouldn’t say the battle of the cookies is over in Hazelwood.  More like, the battle against a bunch of freakin’ commies with less common sense than what God gave a mule has just begun!

In every town or neighborhood there is always that malcontent nosy neighbor who has nothing better to do than complain, bitch, and moan, always calling the police or regularity authorities wasting time and resources. These are the pathetic folks with empty lives, they can’t even grasp the concept of live and let live.

Does this mean that the city ordinance bans a Saturday morning yard sale? Last time I checked, the home owner, has a constitutionally protected right to use their private property for economic gain. As far as I can tell, the US Constitution has rendered the city ordinance null and void. I guess the city officials have no idea of the meaning of “the right of the people to be secure in persons, houses, papers, and effects shall not be violated. I suggest a lesson on the 4th Amendment for Hazelwood city officials

‘Give the rest to neighbors’ ??? Huh? Maybe after a nice spray of laxative or anti-freeze…. And BTW, what kind of mother today wants to teach leadership to her kids? The shame of it!!
