Mich: 8th Grade Students Receive Reply From Obama Concerning Fracking Letter

7 February, 2013

Never mind that the supposed documentary “Gasland” is an easily debunked piece of enviro-trash entertainment and should NEVER be confused with real science.

Never mind that an 8th grade science teacher is indoctrinating her students with this tripe.

Never mind that even the director of “Gasland,” Josh Fox, has admitted that there have been news reports of residents in Colorada igniting their tap water since the 1930’s—long before fracking was even invented!

Nope.

Never mind all that.

The important thing, according to this so-called “journalist,” and others, is that Obama wrote back to some of his brainwashed minions and, they are absolutely  “stoked!”:

Lakeview Students Stoked About Receiving Letter From President

FOX17Online

LAKEVIEW, Mich. — Cari Scholtens teaches some very advanced 8th grade science students at Lakeview High School. Now one of them has a letter from the president of the United States.

When Scholtens was teaching the topic of hydrology, a fellow teacher suggested she educate the students about groundwater pollution. Scholtens had learned a bit about hydraulic fracturing while in college, so she too was interested in learning a bit more. Scholtens chose the documentary ‘Gasland’ by Josh Fox, in which Fox takes a journey across country uncovering what he calls as lies, secrets, and contamination.

“Them setting the tap water on fire, really made me upset,” student Mitchell Englund said. ”I did not realize you could do that with tap water.”

At the end of the movie, there is a call for action, and Scholtens’ students were fired up. They decided to write letters to top officials, and Mitchell wrote to President Obama.

Little by little, responses came back from U.S. senators Debbie Stabenow and Carl Levin, followed by one from Governor Rick Snyder’s office. But on Monday, a big surprise showed up to Lakeview High School.

“I got called to the office and I thought I might be in trouble and I saw where the envelope was from and I started freaking out,” Mitchell said.

Along with the letter, there was an autographed picture of President Obama, too. All of the letters the class received are in frames, and Mitchell said he is going to hold onto his very tightly.

“They were celebrities here and they still are,” Scholtens said. “Kids are always asking Mitchell to see the letter and to see his picture, I mean to have those things, that’s something he’s going to have the rest of his life.”

Yeah…  Betcha’ a sawbuck that his signature, like so much of his presidency, was auto-penned.

More Debunking of AGW: Earth’s Surface Temperature Has Remained Relatively Stable for Past 16 yrs

15 October, 2012

Of course, the same Anthropogenic Global Warming alarmist charlatans who tout every seasonal hurricane or heat wave as proof positive that AGW is real are suddenly embracing the notion that we shouldn’t jump to any conclusions based upon a mere 16 years of data:

Global warming stopped 16 years ago, reveals Met Office report quietly released… and here is the chart to prove it
By David Rose – The Guardian UK

The world stopped getting warmer almost 16 years ago, according to new data released last week.

The figures, which have triggered debate among climate scientists, reveal that from the beginning of 1997 until August 2012, there was no discernible rise in aggregate global temperatures.

This means that the ‘plateau’ or ‘pause’ in global warming has now lasted for about the same time as the previous period when temperatures rose, 1980 to 1996. Before that, temperatures had been stable or declining for about 40 years.

The new data, compiled from more than 3,000 measuring points on land and sea, was issued  quietly on the internet, without any media fanfare, and, until today, it has not been reported.

This stands in sharp contrast  to the release of the previous  figures six months ago, which went only to the end of 2010 – a very warm year.

Ending the data then means it is possible to show a slight warming trend since 1997, but 2011 and the first eight months of 2012 were much cooler, and thus this trend is erased.

[…]

Here are three not-so trivial questions you probably won’t find in your next pub quiz. First, how much warmer has the world become since a) 1880 and  b) the beginning of 1997? And what has this got to do with your ever-increasing energy bill?

You may find the answers to the first two surprising. Since 1880, when reliable temperature records began to be kept across most of the globe, the world has warmed by about 0.75 degrees Celsius.

From the start of 1997 until August 2012, however, figures released last week show the answer is zero: the trend, derived from the aggregate data collected from more than 3,000 worldwide measuring points, has been flat.

Not that there has been any  coverage in the media, which usually reports climate issues assiduously, since the figures were quietly release online with no accompanying press release – unlike six months ago when they showed a slight warming trend.

The answer to the third question is perhaps the most familiar. Your bills are going up, at least in part, because of the array of ‘green’ subsidies being provided to the renewable energy industry, chiefly wind.

[…]

[A]ccording to increasing numbers of serious climate scientists, it does suggest that the computer models that have for years been predicting imminent doom, such as  those used by the Met Office and the UN Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, are flawed, and that the climate is far more complex than the models assert.

Obama, Like Clinton in the 1990s, Using Space Systems/Loral to Once Again Export Technology to Communist China

23 July, 2012

I worked for Space Systems/Loral (SS/L) in the 1990s.  During that time, Bill Clinton and Bernard Schwartz (CEO of SS/L) cozied up to Communist China and allowed free access to the technology behind our satellites and launch vehicles.

On numerous occasions, I personally witnessed communist spies at SS/L taking copious notes concerning almost every aspect of our operations and technology.  I brought all of this to the attention of upper management, only to be given the cold shoulder and told to keep quiet—which I didn’t do.

After repeated attempts at bringing attention to these communist spies, I was given a ‘time out’ by being sent to a swing shift.  That was pretty much the nail in the coffin and I quit shortly thereafter.

Had SS/L’s management listened to me, they could have saved not only the United States of America from a massive transfer of space technology to the communists, but $14 million in penalties that they (SS/L) were eventually forced to pay.

Apparently, no one has learned their lessons and so, we are all doomed to repeat history:

OBAMA’S LOST IN SPACE
ADMINISTRATION APPROVES CONTROVERSIAL EXPORT LICENSE ALLOWING SENSITIVE SPACE TECHNOLOGY TRANSFER TO CHINA

BY: Bill Gertz – July 23, 2012 – FreeBeacon.com

The Obama administration recently notified Congress that it has agreed to license exports of sensitive U.S. space technology to China from a U.S. company that was fined in the past for illegally supplying space support that improved Chinese ballistic missiles.

The State Department’s Directorate of Defense Trade Controls, the unit that licenses exports of sensitive technology, notified House and Senate leaders on Wednesday of plans to go ahead with an export license for a deal between Space Systems/Loral and AsiaSat, a company owned in part by a Chinese state-run investment company linked to past satellite deals in the 1990s.

Additionally, U.S. government reports indicate that China’s People’s Liberation Army, which is currently engaged in a major space warfare program that involves anti-satellite missiles and lasers, used AsiaSat communications satellites in the past.

[…]

Documents obtained by the Free Beacon reveal that the Obama administration appeared to ignore two U.S. laws prohibiting space cooperation with China. They include sanctions against selling military goods to China imposed after the 1989 Tiananmen Square massacre by Chinese military forces, and a 1999 law requiring all space exports to China to be treated as military transfers.

[…]

David S. Adams, assistant secretary of state for legislative affairs, stated in a July 18 letter to Senate Foreign Relations Committee chairman Sen. John Kerry and House Foreign Relations Committee Chairman Rep. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen and their minority counterparts that unless Congress objects, the export license will be issued for the $263.4 million deal between Loral and Asia Satellite Telecommunications Co., Ltd (AsiaSat) and its Hong Kong representative, Barry Turner, a Canadian resident of Hong Kong. Thailand’s Thaicom Public Co., Ltd. also is part of the deal.

Congress has 28 days to decide whether or not to block the sale.

[…]

Loral spokeswoman Wendy Lewis said: “Space Systems/Loral is very rigorous in our compliance with export control regulations.”

Speaking from my own personal expertise in this matter:  Bullspit!  The communist Chinese spies will infest every aspect of the program, and then some!

According to U.S. officials, the export license will permit the transfer of what the congressional notification describes as “defense articles, including technical data, and defense services necessary for the post-preliminary design review design, manufacturing and delivery phases of AsiaSat 6 commercial communications satellite program.”

[…]

The license to AsiaSat is being carried out under the Arms Export Control Act, and is part of the Obama administration program of seeking a major loosening of export controls of sensitive technology.

[…]

Congressional investigators said both CITIC and AsiaSat were involved in the strategic compromise of U.S. missile technology that grew out of satellite launch and space cooperation between U.S. companies and China in the 1990s.

For example, a representative of CITIC, Wang Jun, met at the White House on Feb. 6, 1996—the same day that then-President Clinton approved the launch of four U.S. satellites on Chinese rockets.

Records at the time also revealed that Loral chairman Bernard L. Schwartz gave large donations to the Democratic Party, including $15,000 to the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee on Feb. 15, 1996—just over a week after Clinton approved the satellite launches in China. On Feb. 29, 1996, Schwartz gave $50,000 to the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee.

The satellite launches were the first step in the ill-fated technology transfer that made Chinese intercontinental ballistic missile more reliable.

Eight days after the satellite launches were approved, a Chinese launcher carrying a Loral satellite blew up on launch and destroyed a nearby Chinese village.

The launch failure investigation over the next several months led to the improper sharing of restricted U.S. missile technology.

[…]

The two companies involved in the illicit space cooperation were Loral Space and Communications Co. that owns Space Systems/Loral, and Hughes Electronics Corp. In 2002, Loral was fined $14 million for the illegal exports; Hughes was fined $32 million in 2003 for its role in the transfer. A Pentagon technology security report on the tech transfer concluded that “the significant benefits derived by China from these activities are likely to lead to improvements in the overall reliability of their launch vehicles [i.e., rockets] and ballistic missiles and in particular their guidance systems.”

Muzzy Claims Da Vinci was Muslim

9 April, 2012

Of course a Muzzy would claim this.  After all, Muzzies routinely lay claim to just about every scientific achievement ever made (methinks they have an inferiority complex of some sort).   Don’t believe me?   Well, for instance, take a look at the “Jagged 85” Wikipedia debacle HERE.   That’s just right off the top of my head.  There are thousands more examples to be had.

And now, you can add the following farcical sophistry to that ever growing list:

Da Vinci was a Muslim?

Author of ‘Leonardo Da Vinci’s Drawings’ says in this book he has proved that Da Vinci had been converted to Islam: “The book presents a comprehensive biography of Da Vinci and here for the first time I have proved that the artist had been converted to Islam based on authentic documents.”

(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) – Morteza Khalaj Amirhosseini’s book “Leonardo Da Vinci’s Drawings” contains best drawings as well as a detailed biography of this eminent artist. Based on valid sources, the book proves that Da Vinci had been converted into Persian.

Amirhosseini added: “I have prepared the book in order to address the needs of art students as there was no comprehensive book of Da Vinci’s works available in Iran. We should know an artist by his works, but unfortunately Da Vinci is just an icon in Iran with mythological fame.”

Amirhosseini went on to say that the book presents a complete biography of Da Vinci in which he has proved based on first-hand sources that the Renaissance artist had become a Muslim. However, the west prefers to keep silent on the subject, he added.

He added: “A French writer in the 19th century has evaluated the issue of Da Vinci’s conversion to Islam in a treatise, but the west has banned the publication of this treatise.”

Uh, yeah.  Right.  Sure there was.  LOL!

Just more speciousness.   Notice that he conveniently forgets to mention the name of this supposed 19th century French writer.  That’s clue number one that he made it up.  Clue number two is that he claims the French treatise is banned by the west.  So, when you do come up empty-handed after an exhaustive search while trying to verify is assertion, well then…  It’s banned doncha’ know, and that’s, like, um, why you couldn’t find it anywhere.  Yeah, that’s the ticket!  LOL!

Voice Analysis: Sharon Bialek is a Liar and Herman Cain Speaks the Truth!

10 November, 2011

My, my, my…  I think a lot of supposedly Conservative bloggers owe Mr. Cain a BIG apology for getting suckered by the Lame Stream Media into spreading false rumors and helping to destroy Herman Cain’s reputation:

Investigator: Herman Cain innocent of sexual advances

ATLANTA (CBS ATLANTA) –

Private investigator TJ Ward said presidential hopeful Herman Cain was not lying at a news conference on Tuesday in Phoenix.

Cain denied making any sexual actions towards Sharon Bialek and vowed to take a polygraph test if necessary to prove his innocence.

Cain has not taken a polygraph but Ward said he does have software that does something better.

Ward said the $15,000 software can detect lies in people’s voices.

CBS Atlanta’s Mike Paluska played Cain’s speech for Ward into the software and watched as it analyzed Cain’s every word.

If he is hiding something this thing would have spiked way down here,” said Ward. “He is being truthful, totally truthful. He is a man with integrity and he talked directly about not knowing any incident he is accused of.”

The software analyzes the stress level and other factors in your voice. During the speech, when Cain denied the claims, the lie detector read “low risk.” According to Ward, that means Cain is telling the truth.

During the section of Bialek’s news conference where she says, “He suddenly reached over put his hand on my leg under my skirt and reached for my genitals he also grabbed my head brought it towards his crotch.”

During the analysis of that section the software said “high risk statement.” Ward said that means she is not telling the truth about what happened.

“I don’t think she is fabricating her meetings,” said Ward. But, she is fabricating what transpired.”

Ward said nearly 70 law enforcement agencies nationwide use the voice software, including the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office.

Ward said the technology is a scientific measure that law enforcement use as a tool to tell when someone is lying and that it has a 95 percent success rate.

After listening to Cain’s speech and analyzing it, Ward said there is no doubt, Cain is innocent.

“When he directly talks about the allegations against him there is no high risk,” said Ward. “It is low risk, which tells me he is being truthful in his conversations to the public.”

NASA Warns of Earth’s Destruction By Aliens if You Don’t Jump Aboard the Anthropogenic Global Warming Bandwagon

Pay Your Carbon Taxes To Al Gore Or Space Aliens Will Attack
Global warming alarmists invent new hoax after failing with everything else

Having failed with drowning polar bears, global superstorms, rising sea levels and a myriad of other manufactured hoaxes, global warming alarmists have invented a new threat to try and persuade us to pay carbon taxes directly to Al Gore and the global elite – vengeful environmentalist extraterrestrials from outer space.

“It may not rank as the most compelling reason to curb greenhouse gases, but reducing our emissions might just save humanity from a pre-emptive alien attack, scientists claim,” according to a Guardian report.

A new study conducted by researchers at Nasa’s Planetary Science Division posits that “green” ETs might get angry at Bubba driving his gas-guzzling SUV and respond by wiping humankind off the face of the earth to “protect other civilizations”.

“Green” aliens might object to the environmental damage humans have caused on Earth and wipe us out to save the planet. “These scenarios give us reason to limit our growth and reduce our impact on global ecosystems. It would be particularly important for us to limit our emissions of greenhouse gases, since atmospheric composition can be observed from other planets,” the authors write.

Is it really any wonder why polls show belief in global warming is collapsing? A recent Rasmussen survey found that 69 per cent of Americans believed scientists had likely falsified climate change data to push their agenda.

They’ve fed us with drowning polar bears, overpopulation paranoia, global superstorms and all manner of manufactured lies in an effort to terrify people into accepting the hoax and blithely handing over their carbon taxes to Al Gore and the Rothschilds, but none of it has worked. Gore’s Chicago Climate Exchange (CCX) has all but collapsed. The fact that they have now resorted to playing the “alien invasion” card illustrates how desperate and discredited the climate change cult has become.

Canada: Eco-Freak Kindergarten Teacher Excludes Children From Teddy Bear Contest for Bringing Ziploc Baggies to School

3 February, 2011

Commie eco-indoctrination in action:

Boy Bagged For Taking Eco-Unfriendly Ziploc to School
Kindergartener’s Parent Rages About ‘Propaganda;’ Earth Day Educators Say Teacher Was Wrong

By SUSAN DONALDSON JAMES – ABC News

Isabel Theoret was preparing a sandwich for her 6-year-old son’s Kindergarten class one day last week, when he screamed out, “No Mommy! Not a Ziploc!”

The child, who lives with his family in the town of Laval in Quebec, explained that his teacher would exclude him from a contest to win a stuffed teddy bear if he brought an environmentally unfriendly plastic baggie to school.

“Felix explained with lots of emotion and tears in his eyes that there was a simple condition to entering the drawing: Don’t use a Ziploc bag in their lunch,” his father, Marc-Andre Lanciault wrote on his French-language blog, “Notre Vie” [Our Life].

“Felix reacted as if someone had slaughtered a pig for his ham sandwich,” said his father, who is CEO and founder of the technology company INBOX International.

When the father questioned Felix’s teacher, she responded, “You know, Mr. Lanciault, it’s not very good for the environment,” according to a report in Canada’s National Post. “We have to take care of our planet and the bags do not decompose well.”

The baggie blow-up rippled across blogs in both Canada and the United States, as critics wondered why environmental education had to be so dogmatic, especially among the youngest students.

[…]
Michael Sanera, co-author of the 1999 book, “Facts Not Fear: Teaching Children About the Environment,” said the Canadian incident was not surprising.

“Things haven’t changed,” he said. “Here we have the same sort of pattern we documented in the book — teachers are becoming activists and training their kids to be activists. Secondly, they are latching on to environmental dogma and teaching that as science to kids. Who is to say that kids don’t wash out the baggies and re-use them? Why is the Ziploc a problem?”

The chemicals involved in paper production are more harmful to the environment than thinner, modern plastics, according to Sanera, who is director of research and local government studies for the libertarian John Locke Foundation.

“The key problem is we’ve got a teacher that is on a political crusade and thinks it’s her responsibility to indoctrinate kids and not teach sound science,” Sanera said. “They should teach the science and economics and let the kids decide on their own — after seeing the pros and cons of both sides of the issue.

Obama Administration Hiding Potential Danger from TSA Body Scanners?

3 December, 2010

While digging around the internet, I came across this PDF file which was sent by several scientists and physicians at UCSF  to Obama’s Science Czar, John “forced mass sterilization needed to save the planet” Holdren.

Now, don’t you find it interesting that the Obama administration is working overtime to allay the public’s concerns over any potential dangers from the TSA naked body scanners?

Sure, the x-ray dosage is low, however, there have been absolutely no long-term studies done with the backscatter technology on biological tissues.  Therefore, there is no proof to administration’s claim that there is no risk associated with the backscatter technology.  Of course, since Obama’s Science Czar is into forced mass sterilization programs, this certainly has the potential for accomplishing his nefarious objectives:

April 6, 2010

Dr. John P. Holdren
Assistant to the President for Science and Technology

Dear Dr. Holdren:

We, a number of University of California, San Francisco faculty, are writing — see the attached memo — to call your attention to our concerns about the potential serious health risks of the recently adopted whole body back scatter X-ray airport security scanners.  This is an urgent situation as these X-ray scanners are rapidly being implemented as a primary screening step for all air travel passengers.

By way of introduction one of us (John Sedat) met you recently when he and his wife Dr. Elizabeth Blacckburn, a 2009 Nobel Laureate, talked with President Obama last ecemer. Dr. Sedat is Professor Emeritus in Biochemistry and Biophyisics at the University of California, San Francisco, with expertise in imagin.  He is alo a member of the National Academy of Sciences.  The other cosigner incluses Dr. Marc Shuman, an internatioally well known and respected cancer expert and UCSF profesor, as well as Drs. David Agard and Robert Stroud, who are UCSF Professors, X-ray crystallographers, imaging experts and NAS members.

Sincerely yours,

John Sedat, Ph.D
David Agard, Ph.D
Marc Shuman, M.D.
Robert Stroud, Ph.D.

LETTER OF CONCERN

We are writing to call your attention to serious concerns about the potential health risksof the recently adopted whole body backscatter X-ray airport security scanners. This isan urgent situation as these X-ray scanners are rapidly being implemented as a primaryscreening step for all air travel passengers.

Our overriding concern is the extent to which the safety of this scanning device hasbeen adequately demonstrated. This can only be determined by a meeting of animpartial panel of experts that would include medical physicists and radiation biologistsat which all of the available relevant data is reviewed.

An important consideration is that a large fraction of the population will be subject tothe new X-ray scanners and be at potential risk, as discussed below. This raises anumber of ‘red flags’. Can we have an urgent second independent evaluation?

The Red Flags

The physics of these X-rays is very telling: the X-rays are Compton-Scattering off outermolecule bonding electrons and thus inelastic (likely breaking bonds).

Unlike other scanners, these new devices operate at relatively low beam energies(28keV). The majority of their energy is delivered to the skin and the underlyingtissue. Thus, while the dose would be safe if it were distributed throughout the volumeof the entire body, the dose to the skin may be dangerously high.

The X-ray dose from these devices has often been compared in the media to the cosmicray exposure inherent to airplane travel or that of a chest X-ray. However, thiscomparison is very misleading: both the air travel cosmic ray exposure and chest Xrayshave much higher X-ray energies and the health consequences are appropriatelyunderstood in terms of the whole body volume dose. In contrast, these new airportscanners are largely depositing their energy into the skin and immediately adjacenttissue, and since this is such a small fraction of body weight/vol, possibly by one to twoorders of magnitude, the real dose to the skin is now high.

In addition, it appears that real independent safety data do not exist. A search, ultimately finding top FDA radiation physics staff, suggests that the relevant radiationquantity, the Flux [photons per unit area and time (because this is a scanning device)]has not been characterized. Instead an indirect test (Air Kerma) was made thatemphasized the whole body exposure value, and thus it appears that the danger is lowwhen compared to cosmic rays during airplane travel and a chest X-ray dose.

In summary, if the key data (flux-integrated photons per unit values) were available, itwould be straightforward to accurately model the dose being deposited in the skin and adjacent tissues using available computer codes, which would resolve the potentialconcerns over radiation damage.

Our colleagues at UCSF, dermatologists and cancer experts, raise specific important concerns:

A) The large population of older travelers, >65 years of age, is particularly at risk from the mutagenic effects of the X-rays based onthe known biology of melanocyte aging.

B) A fraction of the female population is especially sensitive to mutagenesis-provoking radiation leading to breast cancer. Notably, because these women, who have defects in DNA rempair mechanisms, are particularly prone to cance,r X-ray mamograms are not performed on them.  The dose to breast tissue beneath the skin represents a similar risk.

C) Blood (white blood cells) perfusing the skin is also at risk.

D) The population of immunocoompromised individual — HIV and cancer patients (see above) is liekly to be at risk for cancer induction by the high skin dose.

E) The risk of radiation emmission to childern and adolescents does not appear to have been fully evaulated.

F) The policy towards pregnant women needs to be defined once the theoretical risks to the fetus are determined.

G) Because of the proximity of the testicles to the skin, this tissue is at risk for sperm mutagenesis.

H) Have the effects of the radiation on the cornea and thymus been determined?

Moreover, there are a number of ‘red flags’ related to the hardware itself. Because this device can scan a human in a few seconds, the X-ray beam is very intense. Any glitch in power at any point in the hardware (or more importantly in software) that stops the device could cause an intense radiation dose to a single spot on the skin. Who will oversee problems with overall dose after repair or software problems? The TSA is already complaining about resolution limitations; who will keep the manufacturers and/or TSA from just raising the dose, an easy way to improve signal-to-noise and get higher resolution? Lastly, given the recent incident (on December 25th), how do we know whether the manufacturer or TSA, seeking higher resolution, will scan the groin area more slowly leading to a much higher total dose?

After review of the available data we have already obtained, we suggest that additional critical information be obtained, with the goal to minimize the potential health risks of total body scanning. One can study the relevant X-ray dose effects with modern molecular tools. Once a small team of appropriate experts is assembled, an experimental plan can be designed and implemented with the objective of obtaining information relevant to our concerns expressed above, with attention paid to completing the information gathering and formulating recommendations in a timely fashion. We would like to put our current concerns into perspective.

As longstanding UCSF scientists and physicians, we have witnessed critical errors in decisions that have seriously affected the health of thousands of people in the United States. These unfortunate errors were made because of the failure to recognize potential adverse outcomes of decisions made at the federal level. Crises create a sense of urgency that frequently leads to hasty decisions where unintended consequences are not recognized. Examples include the failure of the CDC to recognize the risk of blood transfusions in the early stages of the AIDS epidemic, approval of drugs and devices by the FDA without sufficient review, and improper standards set by the EPA, to name a few.

Similarly, there has not been sufficient review of the intermediate and long-term effects of radiation exposure associated with airport scanners. There is good reason to believ that these scanners will increase the risk of cancer to children and other vulnerable populations. We are unanimous in believing that the potential health consequences need to be rigorously studied before these scanners are adopted. Modifications that reduce radiation exposure need to be explored as soon as possible.

In summary we urge you to empower an impartial panel of experts to reevaluate the potential health issues we have raised before there are irrevocable long-term consequences to the health of our country. These negative effects may on balance far outweigh the potential benefit of increased detection of terrorists.

In Obama’s World, Ideology Trumps Science

12 November, 2010

Apparently, we Homers are just too stupid to understand the science behind Lefturd ideology:

Dems extol facts and science but act on ideology
By: Byron York – Washington Examiner

President Obama recently fretted that our politics has become so rough-and-tumble that “facts and science and argument do not seem to be winning the day all the time.” Speaking at a Democratic fundraiser just before the election, the president worried that Americans were so rattled by economic anxieties that they might lose their heads and choose Republicans over Democrats — a fear that became a reality on Nov. 2.

But his larger point was that Democrats are guided by facts and science and argument while Republicans act on ideological or even irrational motives. As liberals and Democrats are fond of saying, they are part of the “reality-based community.”

Except when they’re not.

In the course of the Obama administration we have seen examples of Democrats in the White House, Congress and across the government pursuing ideological goals that are not only not based on facts and science and argument but actually fly in the face of facts and science and argument. Some examples:

»  Offshore oil drilling. Recently the inspector general of the Interior Department discovered that White House officials altered a report to claim that the administration’s six-month moratorium on offshore oil drilling had the approval of the nation’s foremost engineering experts. “The recommendations contained in this report have been peer-reviewed by seven experts identified by the National Academy of Engineering,” the administration declared. In fact, the experts had not reviewed, nor did they approve, the proposed drilling moratorium. The administration insists it was all a mistake.

»  The “clean energy economy.” President Obama speaks frequently about “accelerating the transition to a clean energy economy.” Neither Obama’s promises of breakthroughs in solar, wind, and other alternative energy sources — which can supply only a tiny fraction of the nation’s energy needs — nor his claims that his policies will create hundreds of thousands of “green jobs” in a new clean energy world, are supported by solid economic analysis. Numerous studies found that the president’s favored cap-and-trade program would not have led to economic growth, and the concept of “green jobs” is so fuzzy as to be almost useless.

“They are ignoring the fact that subsidized green jobs destroy jobs elsewhere and direct capital and resources away from their most efficient use,” says Nick Loris, an analyst at the conservative Heritage Foundation. “If these technologies were economically competitive and profitable, they wouldn’t need the subsidies and mandates the administration is supporting.” (more…)

Obama to Appear on Mythbusters

18 October, 2010

Ack!  As if we aren’t already Obamaboarded on a daily basis with a fawning media’s fanatical obsession of plastering Obama’s image on just about everything under the sun, we are now no longer allowed to seek comfort, diversion, and entertainment from non-political shows like Mythbusters.

Maybe the Mythbusters should wait until Shark Week starts before airing this episode:

No myth: Obama appearing on ‘Mythbusters’
by Daniel Terdiman – cnet

He won’t be wearing a beret or a T-shirt that says “I know, I know, Jamie is always right,” but President Obama will be making a guest appearance on the hit Discovery Channel show “Mythbusters.”

In a release today, the Discovery Channel touted the segment–which the president and “Mythbusters” hosts Jamie Hyneman and Adam Savage taped on July 27–that will air during the December 8 episode of the show. The episode is called “Archimedes Solar Ray,” and during his segment, the president challenged Hyneman and Savage “to revisit an ancient and somewhat-controversial myth: Did Greek scientist and polymath Archimedes set fire to an invading Roman fleet using only mirrors and the reflected rays of the sun?”

Obama announced his “Mythbusters” role during the White House Science Fair today, but he lamented that he didn’t get to blow anything up during the taping of the segment. “I was a little frustrated about that,” the president said.
Don’t y0u worry your pretty little head, Obama; you can still push that shiny red button you’ve got there in the Oval Office…  Just make sure that you are targeting Iran—not Israel or the United States…
