Lewis Palme found this article on drug resistant super bacteria cultures (biofilm) and added a few comments and comparisons to and about Islam. I am running this with his permission. Thank you Lewis.

There was an article published in the March 23, 2007, edition of the Baltimore Sun by Chris Emery about medical research into “biofilms.” The story was also picked up by the Los Angeles Times on April 4. http://www.baltimoresun.com/news/health/bal-hs.biofilm23mar23,0,4256495.story
One well-known biofilm is called plaque by dentists, a mixture of microorganisms, including bacteria, protozoa and algae suspended in a slimy glue called polysaccharide that holds them together and binds them to surfaces. Yuck ! What is scary, however, is that when enough of them get together, they undergo metabolic changes that make them more dangerous than they are individually.
As I read the article, I was struck by how much this new medical phenomenon resembles the way the Muslim community supports and protects Islamic terrorism. As I am not a scientist, I will provide an outline below of what I am getting at, and hopefully someone more qualified will flesh out this thesis. Lewis Palme
1. Bacteria can band together into sheets called biofilms. When they do, they alter their behavior. They build complex communities, establish lines of communication and coordinate their actions. They become 50 to 500 times more resistant.
This reminds me of the “no go zones” cropping up in France, England, and Sweden.
2. Biofilms coat everything from Alpine river rocks to neglected teeth. Every year they cause billions of dollars of damage.
This reminds me of the rioting that emerged “spontaneously??” months after the Danish cartoons were published where businesses and embassy buildings were burned and trashed, and innocent people were killed.
3. Like soldiers hiding in a castle, the bacteria inside the film are protected from drugs designed to kill them. The [good] cells are also starved for nutrients.
This reminds me of the Hezbollah militants in last summer’s fighting with Israel who hid within populated areas launching missiles at random targets in Israel. The use of civilians as shields prevented Israel from effectively targeting Hezbollah. It was the civilians who suffered the most.
4. Stress puts biofilm bacteria on the defensive, causing them to release caustic acids and proteins. They start freaking out. They turn on stress response genes that make them attack the antibiotic.
This reminds me of CAIR filing lawsuits at any organization that voices any criticism of their antics. Now the attacks are even targeting innocent John Does who are merely “reporting suspicious behavior.” (more…)
