A local chapter of a national Islamic civil liberties group is praising the decision of a Royal Oak gun shop to discontinue selling targets of a skeleton wearing traditional Muslim attire.

The Michigan chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-MI) welcomed the decision by Target Sports.

CAIR-MI Executive Director Dawud Walid met Wednesday with the owner of Target Sports to voice concern that a gun range target that depicts a skeleton with a long beard dressed in a turban and robe may provoke gun owners to view local Muslims who wear such garb as enemies.

Uh, yeah.  Just the other day, I saw a skeleton walking down the street in a turban and carrying an AK-47; acting all suspicious, and stuff.  Happens all the time around here. /sarcasm

The owner agreed.

Walid said he had received a complaint about the targets Wednesday morning, and walked into the gun store and bought two of the targets before introducing himself and expressing his concerns.

“He gave us a verbal promise to stop selling the targets,” Walid said. “It was an extremely non-hostile meeting.”

The targets, manufactured by Thompson Targets in Canton, Ohio, are shipped throughout the country, and Walid was checking with other gun shops in metro Detroit to see whether they are carrying them.

“Our concern isn’t primarily being offended,” he said. “It’s a safety issue. In metro Detroit, there are law-abiding, peaceful Muslims walking the streets of Hamtramck and Detroit who are dressed like this in the target. It is problematic. There seems to be a dehumanization of Muslims.”

McDonald’s Power Ranger Stomps on Muhammad (dbuh)

Yup, Muzzies see Muhammad and Allah’s names in just about everything.  Of course, if Arabic script wasn’t such a scribbly, horrible mess to begin with, this type of stuff wouldn’t happen near as often; and, McDonald’s wouldn’t be running around with their heads cut off trying to withdraw a child’s toy.

First, a little perspective as to what Muhammad’s name commonly looks like in Arabic calligraphy:

Of course, if that were the end of the story, we could all just close the book and move on.  However, when writing in Arabic script, Muhammad’s name most often looks like this:

So now, it lends itself to all sorts of hallucinatory imaginations of the Muslim kind.

Saudis Demand Punishment for McDonald’s Toy They Say “Insults Muhammed”

Saudi Arabians are angry at a McDonald’s toy which they say mocks their prophet Muhammad. According to a report appearing today (5/27/12) on the Arabic news website, Kermalkom.com, the McDonald’s fast food restaurant “abused the Prophet Muhammad by placing his name at the base of a toy that is being distributed as part of the Happy Meal, a toy which steps on the name ‘Muhammad.'”

The toy consists of a blue superhero figurine (apparently a Power Ranger Samurai […]. It stands on one leg, and, when the lever is pressed, it pounds on the base with the other leg. According to the Saudis, the designs that appear all around the base, where the figurine stomps its foot, is really the name “Muhammad” written several times in circles.

The toy had been distributed a few days before Saudi children and their parents began to take note of the name. Soon thereafter, Saudi Muslims launched several campaigns against McDonald’s in “response to the savage attacks on the noble Prophet,” under banners like “Help your Prophet!” and “Together in support of the Prophet.”

Saudis, “demanding the strongest possible punishment for the restaurant” and insisting that “they will not be silent until this is realized,” further complained how such an obvious insult could pass the supervision of the management at McDonalds.

The strongest possible punishment?  That would be death…

In response, “Saudi McDonald’s” has withdrawn the toy from all its restaurants, “in order to safeguard against any accusations or misunderstandings.”

Fatuous suckupism!  They should have kept distributing the toy.  After all, Islam is a religion of peace, right?  What could possibly go wrong?

74% Increase in U.S. Mosques Since 2000

• States with the most mosques are New York (257), California (246) and Texas (166).

• Most mosques are in cities, but suburban sites rose from 16% in 2000 to 28% in 2010.

Although the study does not claim to say how many Muslims are in the USA, Bagby estimates there are 2.6 million “mosque participants” — people who have attended prayers for Eid (a major holy day) or Friday prayers or were considered participants by the mosque leader survey.

Bagby says he reached the number by taking mosque attendance reported by the leadership and multiplying the average number of attendees by the number of mosques.

Bagby’s report concludes “if there are 2.6 million Muslims who pray the Eid prayer, then the total Muslim population should be closer to estimates (by Bagby) of up to 7 million.”

However, no other survey projects even 3 million Muslims in the USA.

The numbers matter because higher numbers mean enhanced social and political clout in the public square for minority faiths. Significantly large groups can attract candidates seeking votes or convince school boards and employers to recognize their holy days, for example.

“Higher numbers mean you are not marginalized,” Ibrahim Hooper, spokesman for the Council on American-Islamic Relations has said.

I’ve got it.

We’ve come a long way since the days of the Global War on Terror. Frankly, the GWOT — whatever that was supposed to mean (how do you fight against a tactic?) — is so 10 years ago. “Terror,” meanwhile, has morphed into “extremism,” but that’s only made things more unclear. We still don’t know what it’s all supposed to be about.

Until today.

If a column could have special effects, this is where piercing beams of sunlight would dispel clouds of confusion as pink bunnies jump up and down, squeaking, “That’s it, that’s it!” And a sigh of relief would spread across the happy valley …

Or would it? If my title for the war our country has engaged us in is apt, have I described a cause most Americans support? I don’t think so, but, of course, I don’t claim to know the answer. That’s partly because I see no upset in the land over the latest and greatest display of American dhimmitude — the subservient state of Jews and Christians in thrall to Islamic law — that we have witnessed in Afghanistan all week. Afghan Muslims have convulsed in rioting and killing (among other fatalities, two U.S. military personnel have been murdered by an Afghan army member) on word that Qurans and other religious materials were disposed of on a U.S. military base after authorities discovered the books were being used at Parwan prison in what the BBC said may have been “a secret Taliban message system.”

You didn’t hear about that last part? I’m not surprised. This crucial piece of the story — the logical reason for the books’ destruction — is treated by the media, and also by the U.S. government, as secondary material. At least one unnamed “U.S. official” imparted this part of the story to the press (Reuters and AFP); unnamed “Afghan officials” have told the BBC the same thing. Judging by the gingerly way this news is being handled, it almost seems as if the perfectly logical rationale for the disposal of these materials is regarded as an embarrassment.

Not so the outrageous, primitive response of rioting Muslims. In our state of abject apology, we have, in effect, condoned this murderous behavior according to the Islamic rules governing treatment of the Quran. This isn’t just political correctness run amok; it’s open submission to Islamic law. After all, the Quran is an inanimate object, a thing, cheaply printed and distributed by the gazillion, often by Saudi Arabia. We — if by “we” I may still refer to the Judeo-Christian-humanist world — do not rampage and shoot people when an inanimate object, a thing, even a Bible, is torn, written on or thrown away. In fact, we have constitutional rights to do all of those things as a matter of free speech.

Nonetheless, we as a nation — spilling blood for the “noble people of Afghanistan,” as top commander Marine Gen. John R. Allen says in his prostration video (see it here) — have deemed it vital to accommodate, apologize, slurp and scrape to those who do. Equally as tragic, in the frenzy to apologize, the logic behind throwing the stuff away has been sacrificed. Reason itself has been discarded in a shameful and irrational act of fealty. This isn’t just dysfunctional behavior. This is full-blown dhimmitude.

Sorry to disappoint the pink bunnies.

Lowe’s Hardware Comes Under Fire for Pulling its Advertising During TLC’s ‘All American Muslim’

Hey, it’s still a somewhat relatively free country with a Free Market.  If Lowe’s doesn’t want to waste money advertising during a particular time slot, they are more than free to do as they wish.  It’s their money, their right.  Right? 

Throughout the history of television, sponsors have continually rotated in and out of advertising slots.  It’s a business.  If sponsors aren’t getting a good return for their investment in advertising during a particular program, or they feel that a program is not in line with their core values, or—as appears to be the case in this instance—they receive sufficient backlash from the public, then it only makes sense that they pull their advertising.  That’s the way it has always worked and will continue to work.  Like I said, it’s a business.

So, why all the hubbub?  Well, it’s pretty obvious:  We are dealing with a bunch of whiny Muzzies and their legions of dhimmified Lefturds:

Hip-hop mogul and former reality star Russell Simmons slammed Lowe’s hardware store after it pulled its ads from TLC’s new series ‘All American Muslim,’ exclusively reports Entertainment Weekly.

“This can’t happen in America … [Lowe’s] needs to fix this immediately,” Simmons said. “They can’t get away with that, it’s ridiculous. There are American principals at stake here. I can’t imagine the Anti-Defamation League, the NAACP, the National Urban League, or any organization that fights for their own rights will allow this to happen to any other group because they know they’re next.”

Might I just interject here that Russell Simmons admits that his own politics are even farther Left than Keith Olbermann’s?  Just thought I’d throw that in there for a sense of perspective.

Simmons isn’t the only one upset by the homebuilding store’s decision. According to the Los Angeles Times, California state senator Ted Lieu called on Lowe’s to apologize for pulling its advertising from the TV show, which follows the lives of five Muslim American families from the Dearborn, Michigan area, home to one of the most active Muslim communities in the country.

Yet, according to the conservative Florida Family Association, “The show profiles only Muslims that appear to be ordinary folks while excluding many Islamic believers whose agenda poses a clear and present danger to liberties and traditional values that the majority of Americans cherish.”

They then encouraged members to email the program’s advertisers, the conservative organization posted a letter reportedly from a Lowe’s representative, stating that the retail giant has agreed to pull its ads from the docu-series: “While we continue to advertise on various cable networks, including TLC, there are certain programs that do not meet Lowe’s advertising guidelines, including the show you brought to our attention. Lowe’s will no longer be advertising on that program.”

Lowe’s then acknowledged its decision on Twitter. “We did not pull our ads based solely on the complaints or emails of any one group. It is never our intent to alienate anyone. Lowe’s values diversity of thought in everyone, including our employees and prospective customers.”

However, Simmons says that pulling the ads was “a stupid thing to do,” reports Entertainment Weekly, and called on the hardware company to show support the show, instead of pulling its ads.

“This is a press nightmare for them,” Simmons told Entertainment Weekly. “This country is built on religious freedom. This is the kind of hate that tears this country apart.”

LOL!  Suddenly, a Lefturd who practices Solipsism—“I pray to Atman, to the self. The Atman is self”.—is pulling out the American History/Constitution Card.   The cognitive dissonance is deafening.

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. — Public school students in Cambridge have the day off Monday as the schools are closed in observance of a Muslim religious holiday. Cambridge is the first district in the state to observe an Islamic holy day.

The Cambridge School Committee voted last year to close on one Muslim holiday every school year. Students are getting the day off for Eid al-Adha, also known as the Festival of Sacrifice.

The decision came after a group of Muslim students at Cambridge Rindge and Latin School reached out to school staff, administrators and their fellow students to raise awareness of their religion.

“There are a lot of misconceptions, like, wearing a scarf is oppression. Well, how is it oppression if I choose to?” said Dunia Kassay.

Hey, Dunia, no one with a modicum of intelligence ever said that if you wanted to wear a scarf that it was somehow a sign of oppression; that’s your choice, your right.  What we are saying is that if you DON’T want to wear a headscarf, then the followers of your cultish, oppressive “religion” should accept your decision and not go around throwing acid on your face for not covering up.

School committee members said those meetings and the significant number of Muslim students in Cambridge schools were factors in their decision. There are only a few other cities in the U.S. that recognize Muslim holidays.

“People recognize three major religions in this country — Christianity, Judaism and Islam. It didn’t seem right that we would close for two of those religions, but not the third,” said school committee member Marc McGovern.

I’ve got a few questions for you, Marc:  Who are these “people” and what exactly is your definition of “recognize?”   More importantly, what the heck do you consider a “major” religion?  After all, Buddhism is a major religion in America, too.  Are we to start pandering to all those holidays as well?  Maybe you can show us how inclusive you are and start celebrating Vesākha in May.  Then, since I see that you already celebrate the Wiccan Winter Holidays, why not throw in a few Hindu and Scientology holidays as well.  Heck, after a while, you can eliminate an entire calendar year of school days.  That would be just fine with me since it would also mean that you would be out of a job.

Muslims pray five times a day and observe two high holy days: Eid-al-Adha and Eid-al-Fatr. Every year, the city will close schools for one of the two holidays, depending on which falls in the calendar school year.

“It’s kind of just like a way to put ourselves on a map in a way that people understand who we actually are,” said Kassay.

Aha!  So, what you are saying, in essence, is that it’s really not about religious observances as much as it is about sticking your nose in the tent and drawing attention to yourself.

If both fall in the calendar school year, the district will only close for only one of those days.

“The Cambridge School Committee cannot change world politics, but within our district, within our jurisdiction, we can stand up and say, ‘We are going to show respect. We are going to honor a very vibrant and large community,'” said McGovern.

Dispute with Muslim workers at Tyson plant managed

A dispute over prayer time for Muslim workers at a Tyson Food plant in Noel has been tentatively resolved.

About 130 Muslim workers, many of whom are Somali refugees, walked off the job at the plant in Friday because of the dispute.

Muslims are required to pray five times a day at specific times. The Joplin Globe reports (http://bit.ly/uiz3gN) that one of the times is 5 p.m., which was the time most in dispute between employees and a new management team at the plant.

The workers returned to the job on Monday after a tentative agreement with management allowed prayer time.

The Globe reports that Tyson officials and workers met Monday afternoon and agreed to negotiate a long-term solution.

German Officials Planning to Spy on ‘Islamophobes’

Officials in Germany will meet [today] to decide whether right wing groups who are vocally critical of Islam– so-called “Islamophobes”– will be placed under domestic intelligence agency scrutiny alongside other extremists.

The German daily newspaper Der Spiegel reported […] that “Islamophobes” could be placed under surveillance by the BfV, the German equivalent of Britain’s MI-5 or, less precisely, our FBI.

The meeting to decide this designation will be held between “the president of the Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution (BfV), Heinz Fromm, and the agency’s leaders in the 16 German states.”

The German states of Bavaria and Hamburg have already started to view “Islamophobes” and other “right-wing populists” as extremists who pose a threat to order and security. Hamburg officials have declared they monitor a German internet web forum with the less-than-threatening name “Politically Incorrect,” though they say the site is not technically under watch by spies.

Why are German authorities looking at the site then?

An unnamed German official told Der Spiegel it was “undemocratic” and meant to “incite young people.”

Der Spiegel summarized the question facing the intelligence agencies as whether:

“The hatred of Muslims is enough to endanger freedom of religion and international understanding — or whether it is a radical but legitimate expression of opinion by individual authors within the limits of the constitution.”

The German government already criminalizes political parties deemed offensive or threatening to public order. Last week, Germany outlawed what had been its largest Neo-Nazi party. The country also has stringent anti-hate speech laws on the books, which can call for serious criminal penalties.

Colorado Elementary School Disrespects American Flag with Saudi Flag

Gee, you would think that an elementary school which teaches American History would know a little bit about flag etiquette; but then, you would be under the false assumption that your children are somehow being educated and not actually indoctrinated by a bunch of commie Lefturds and Muzzies who have no respect for America and Her traditions:

Colorado School Comes Under Fire for Hanging Saudi Flag Higher Than American Flag

An elementary school in Colorado has come under criticism after they lowered the American flag and elevated a Saudi Arabian flag.

The principal at Bauder Elementary School in Fort Collins said they did not mean to disrespect the American flag, according to a report in the Greeley Gazzette.

Principal Brian Carpenter told the newspaper that the American flag was immediately returned to its proper and prominent position at the school.

Yeah, after the fact when it was pointed out to them.  You mean to tell me that NONE of the teachers even gave it a second thought when they

He explained that other flags are posted around the school to recognize the nationalities of students from other countries.

A photograph showing the raised Saudi flag alongside the lowered American flag was first posted on the Greeley Report, a local blog. It generated lots of local debate.

“We realize this is an extremely sensitive time with us getting close to the 10th anniversary of 9/11,” Carpenter told the Gazzette.

“There is an increased amount of alertness and sensitivity, but if someone is concerned about something to do with our flag I will settle the issue right away.”

Here, let me contextualize the hidden subtext in that statement:  “There is an increased amount of  Leftism, outright ignorance, “multiculturalism,” and dhimmitudeness in our faculty, but if someone catches us with our hands in the cookie-jar indoctrinating your children and makes a big enough stink about it,  I will immediately mitigate any fallout and provide cover for my ‘fellow travelers’ and Islamic cohorts.”

Dhimmi NJ Gov. Chris Christie Goes Sharia – Defends Appointment of Muslim Judge Linked to Terrorists

If there is one thing that absolutely rubs me the wrong way with Chris Christie it’s his consistent track record of supporting Islam—even to the point of trampling on the Constitutional rights of individuals to exercise their Freedom of Speech whenever Islam is involved!  So, it doesn’t surprise me that Gov. Christie not only appointed a Muslim judge, but goes on record dismissing and berating citizens with legitimate concerns over the possibility that a Muslim judge might put Sharia Law above the U.S. Constitution:

I guess you can call Chis Christie the antithesis of Herman Cain.

The New Jersey governor appointed a Muslim judge this year, something Cain said he would never do (and then backtracked), and during a press conference yesterday answered questions about it. Or more appropriately put, he delivered a trademarked, passionate tongue-lashing of those who questioned his decision.

Mediaite has some of Christie’s most colorful quotes (which I’ve bolded):

“Ignorance is behind the criticism of Sohail Mohammed,” he told a reporter asking about the complaints that he may be inadequate to be a judge because he defended Muslim Americans who were wrongly arrested post-9/11. “He is an extraordinary American who is an outstanding lawyer and played an integral role in the post-September 11th period in building bridges between the Muslim American community in this state and law enforcement,” Gov. Christie argued, adding that he was “disgusted, candidly, by some of the questions he was asked… at the Senate judiciary committee.”

But it was a follow-up question on the fear of Sharia Law that set the governor off. “Sharia Law has nothing to do with this at all, it’s crazy!” he cried. “The guy is an American citizen!” He concluded that the “Sharia Law business is just crap… and I’m tried of dealing with the crazies,” adding with disgust and frustration that “it’s just unnecessary to be accusing this guy of things just because of his religious background.”

Mohammed is an Indian-American who was appointed as a Superior Court judge back in January. He has just now been sworn in.
