Pakistan: Lahore PPP Vice President Shot Dead

31 January, 2009

And yet, the Pakis still complain about us using drones to kill al-Qaeda members…  They should be thanking us for helping to weed out the riff-raff.

Lahore PPP vice president shot dead

Sunday, February 01, 2009
By our correspondent – thenews.com.pk

LAHORE: PPP’s Lahore vice president Malik Shahid Imtiaz was shot dead by unidentified assailants in the Mughalpura police limits here on Saturday.

The police said Malik Imtiaz was coming from Gulberg in a car being driven by his cousin Malik Amir when two armed men on a motorcycle intercepted them near Singhpura at 1 pm. They fired only one shot at Malik Imtiaz, which hit him in the chest.

Malik Imtiaz was taken to the Shalimar Hospital where doctors pronounced him dead.

His body was removed to morgue. The SHO said it was a target killing, which was being investigated.

Malik Imtiaz won a PPP ticket for MPA in the last general election from (PP-145) and was elected Nazim twice. His father was also a former PPP MPA. As the news of the killing spread, a large number of PPP leaders and workers, including Aziz-ur-Rehman Chan and Samiullah Khan, reached the morgue.

Talking to media persons, Sami said Malik Imtiaz was a thorough gentleman whose family had a strong affiliation with the PPP. He said it was very sad that a PPP worker had been killed in broad daylight. He asked the Punjab government to note that this was the second incident in a week in which a PPP leader was killed.

Earlier, Malik Tariq Awan, a PPP leader in Sangla Hill, was killed, he said, adding, they would protest against Malik’s killing in case his killers were not arrested immediately.

APP adds: President Asif Zardari and Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani expressed grief over the murder.

In separate messages to the bereaved family, they condemned the murder and directed the provincial authorities to investigate the matter and submit a report. They praised the services of the victim for the party and democracy.

Minister for Information and Broadcasting Sherry Rehman also condemned the killing. “As a colleague, I am deeply saddened on the gruesome murder of Malik Imtiaz Shahid. It was indeed a cowardly act and the government stands committed to nab the criminals,” she told the media.

She extended the government’s condolences to Shahid’s family and said “we share the grief of his family.”

Violent Protests in Russia Call for Putin’s Resignation

31 January, 2009

Gee…  I see that our Russian friends have been taking our advice [link here] seriously.

However, I find it tragic that it took an economic meltdown before they realized that their rights had been stripped away by Putin and his thugs.

Let that be a lesson for the rest of us…

Violent clashes in Russia as angry protesters call for Putin to resign over economy
By Daily Mail Reporter
31 January 2009

Russia was rocked today by some of its strongest protests yet as thousands rallied across the vast country to attack the Kremlin’s response to the global economic crisis.

The marches, complete with Soviet-style red flags and banners, pose a challenge to a government which has faced little threat from the fragmented opposition and politically apathetic population during the boom years fuelled by oil.

Pro-government thugs beat up some of the protesters.

About 2,500 people marched across the far eastern port of Vladivostok to denounce the Cabinet’s decision to increase car import tariffs, shouting slogans urging Prime Minister Vladimir Putin to resign. Many there make their living by importing cars.

Meanwhile in Moscow arrests were made as about 1,000 diehard Communists rallied in a central square hemmed in by heavy police cordons.

Communist Party chief Gennady Zyuganov told them the Kremlin must throw out Western capitalism and impose sweeping nationalisation.

[Yeah, ’cause Communism worked out so well for ya’ all in the past…  LOL!  And, Commies getting their butts kicked by totalitarians is heck-a-funny!]

Eduard Limonov, leader of the banned National Bolshevik Party – and one of the Kremlin’s most radical critics – was arrested at another Moscow square.

Police dispersed demonstrators from the United Civil Front, comprising several radical opposition groups, who launched an illegal rally on a street near the Kremlin.

[Gee, that didn’t use to be illegal.  But, that was before Putin decided to close that little loophole…]

Protesters gathered near an Metro station but then sidestepped police by taking a train across the city to another location.

Some of the protesters were later arrested. Others were brutally beaten up by activists from pro-Kremlin youth groups. (more…)

Obama’s Half-Brother Arrested on Drug Charges in Kenya

31 January, 2009

Personally I could care less but I know the media would have had a fit if this happened to a brother of President Bush, so I am posting this just to spite the hypocrites.

31 January, 2009 (AP)
President Obama’s half-brother was arrested Saturday for possession of marijuana near his home in a Nairobi shantytown.

The half-brother of President Barack Obama was arrested for alleged possession of marijuana on Saturday near his home in a Nairobi shantytown, police said.

George Obama, who is in his 20s and barely knows the president, had one joint of marijuana on him, said Joshua Omokulongolo, the police chief in the area.
-He barely knows him? Ok, prez hook a brother up and pony up for a lawyer. (more…)

UK: Sandhurst Academy Drops the Christian Declaration of Faith in the Trinity so as Not to Cause “Offense”

31 January, 2009

I think Paul sums up my thoughts when he wrote:

Galatians 5:10-12

I am confident in the Lord that you will take no other view. The one who is throwing you into confusion will pay the penalty, whoever he may be.

Brothers, if I am still preaching circumcision, why am I still being persecuted?  In that case the offense of the cross has been abolished.

As for those agitators, I wish they would go the whole way and emasculate themselves!

Silenced Christian soldiers: Sandhurst chaplain bans Creed ‘so services won’t offend minority religions’

By Matthew Drake
DailyMail.co.uk

Sandhurst military academy has dropped the Church of England Creed from services over fears that it may offend religious minorities.

The move has outraged worshippers who say centuries of religious tradition have been sacrificed for the sake of political correctness.

Senior chaplain Reverend Jonathan Gough dropped the Christian declaration of faith in God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, when he took office earlier this month.

Mr Gough – nicknamed the ‘Right On Rev’ by some of his flock – says he wants avoid offending non-believers.

But Christian cadets and civilians were furious when the traditional Anglican service abruptly ended without the Creed being read last Sunday.

Although no official announcement was made, a fellow Chaplain said it had been removed ‘to stop upsetting cadets who do not believe in God’.

Last night the Ministry of Defence confirmed the Creed, which also refutes heresy, had been withdrawn from services at the Royal Memorial Chapel to make the church more inclusive.

This is despite the fact that it is not compulsory for any Sandhurst cadets to attend.

[There’s the kicker! ]

Cease Fire in Gaza Continues to be Violated by Hamas

31 January, 2009

As if we were all stupid enough to think it would be honored by a bunch of thugs:

Hamas Rockets Return to Ashkelon; PA Terrorists Hit Samaria
Israel National News
by Tzvi Ben Gedalyahu

(IsraelNN.com) Hamas continued to break its own truce on the Sabbath, firing a long-range Grad rocket at the southern edge of Ashkelon in the morning while terrorists in Samaria, controlled by the rival Fatah faction, shot at a soldier. The bullet ripped a hole in the soldier’s clothing, but he miraculously escaped injury.

The rocket was at least the third, not including mortar shells, that hit southern Israel since Hamas announced a ceasefire after the IDF ended Operation Cast Lead in Gaza.  Residents took cover seconds before the strike as the Code Red siren warned of the incoming missile.

Unlike after previous ceasefire violations, Israel did not retaliate to the Sabbath morning attack. The attack came on the eve of more talks in Cairo, where Palestinian Authority chairman Mahmoud Abbas was summoned for an urgent meeting with Egyptian officials on Sunday.

United States Middle East envoy George C. Mitchell is scheduled to arrive in Cairo on the same day to discuss proposals for enforcing the Gaza ceasefire announced by Israel.

In northeastern Samaria, terrorists in an area controlled by Abbas’s Fatah faction fired at an Israeli near the community of Itamar, located approximately 25 miles north of Jerusalem. A bullet ripped through the clothing of a soldier, who miraculously escaped injury.

Students at a yeshiva in Itamar disclosed that earlier in the week an Arab driver attempted to run over Jews who were hitchhiking on Highway 60. The hitchhikers were not hurt. Soldiers in a nearby watchtower spotted the terrorist, who was arrested.

Iran: Obama’s Offer to Talk Shows that the U.S. Failed

31 January, 2009

Gee, I could have told Obama that Iran’s regime would take his offer to talk as a sign of weakness…  Here’s a tip, Mr. Usurper of the Throne:  Think of the Iranians as the the Republican party—headed by Rush Limbaugh…  Yup, that will put it in perspective for you…

Iran says Obama’s offer to talk shows US failure
January 31, 2009 – Breitbart

US President Barack Obama’s offer to talk to Iran shows that America’s policy of “domination” has failed, the government spokesman said on Saturday.

“This request means Western ideology has become passive, that capitalist thought and the system of domination have failed,” Gholam Hossein Elham was quoted as saying by the Mehr news agency.

“Negotiation is secondary, the main issue is that there is no way but for (the United States) to change,” he added.

After nearly three decades of severed ties, Obama said shortly after taking office this month that he is willing to extend a diplomatic hand to Tehran if the Islamic republic is ready to “unclench its fist”.

In response, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad launched a fresh tirade against the United States, demanding an apology for its “crimes” against Iran and saying he expected “deep and fundamental” change from Obama.

Iranian politicians frequently refer to the US administration as the “global arrogance”, “domineering power” and “Great Satan”.

Ignoring What U.S. Has Done For Muslims

31 January, 2009

I strolled across this little editorial and decided to share it along with a few comments of my own.

Charles Krauthammer, 31 January, 2009 Courant.com
Every new president flatters himself that he, kinder and gentler, is beginning the world anew. Yet, when Barack Obama reached out to Muslims in his inaugural address with “to the Muslim world, we seek a new way forward, based on mutual interest and mutual respect,” his formulation was needlessly defensive and apologetic.

Is it “new” to acknowledge Muslim interests and show respect to the Muslim world? Obama doesn’t just think so, he said so again to millions in his al-Arabiya interview, insisting on the need to “restore” the “same respect and partnership that America had with the Muslim world as recently as 20 or 30 years ago.”

Astonishing. In these most recent 20 years — the alleged winter of our disrespect of the Islamic world — America did not just respect Muslims, it bled for them. It engaged in five military campaigns, every one of which involved — and resulted in — the liberation of a Muslim people: Bosnia, Kosovo, Kuwait, Afghanistan and Iraq.
-When I went to Bosnia I believed the lie that people were being oppressed and we were going to help them. Now I think I blog to make up for that mistaken idea. Bosnia would have been much better off if the USA had stayed out if it.

The two Balkan interventions — as well as the failed 1992-93 Somali intervention to feed starving African Muslims (43 Americans were killed) — were humanitarian exercises of the highest order, there being no significant U.S. strategic interest at stake. In these 20 years, this nation has done more for suffering and oppressed Muslims than any nation, Muslim or non-Muslim, anywhere on earth. Why are we apologizing?
-Why indeed?

And what of that happy U.S.-Muslim relationship that Obama imagines existed “as recently as 20 or 30 years ago” that he has now come to restore? Thirty years ago, 1979, saw the greatest U.S.-Muslim rupture in our 233-year history: Iran’s radical Islamic revolution, the seizure of the U.S. embassy, the 14 months of America held hostage.
-The minions in iran have plenty of celebrations planned to celebrate 30 years of death and carnage. (more…)

Now Who’s Paranoid?!

30 January, 2009

home-defense
The only good news in this article is people are starting to discover they were duped by obama. Now let’s see if the people are preparing for the confrontation ahead. Remember there are millions more gun owners in the USA than military, police and politicians combined. It is doubtful many of the military and police will risk their lives to protect those who willingly decide to ignore our 2nd amendment. If this starts a civil war, the politicians will seek out criminals in a last ditch effort to buy a gun.

Gun owners are starting to voice their concerns over some of the proposals of the new President.
By KTRH’s John Labus
Friday, January 30, 2009
Some supporters of Barack Obama are feeling betrayed, now that it appears his Attorney General-Designate wants to increase gun control. Houston gun shop owner Jim Pruett says they shouldn’t be surprised.
-The surprise will be on the government. If they paid attention they would have noticed people are protesting failed government policies on a global scale. Are they really stupid enough to think we will not?

“If they read on the website of the Democratic National Convention – which is still there – they intend to pass the Assault Weapons Ban, and even make it more comprehensive.”
-Ban whatever you want but enter my door attempting to grab my guns and I’ll hand your spouse the cartridge casing of the bullet I used to blow your brains all over my rug.

But Michael Hammond with the Gun Owners of America says a lot of Second Amendment advocates are surprised by Obama’s selection of Eric Holder as Attorney General.
-We will resist every effort to screw around with our weapons. In every emergency situation that I can think of the government failed to protect the citizens. If they cannot protect them they damn sure cannot fight all of the gun owners. Make us all criminals if you want but you are not going to like the backlash. When a crime has not been reported for seven years you can have all of my guns, until that happens, I am hanging onto them. (more…)

Muslim infestation in UK worse than previously believed

30 January, 2009

muslims
The failures of the EU are starting to get noticed.
30 January, 2009, the Times
The Muslim population in Britain has grown by more than 500,000 to 2.4 million in just four years, according to official research collated for The Times.
-Strange no mention of why they finally started to count them.

The population multiplied 10 times faster than the rest of society, the research by the Office for National Statistics reveals. In the same period the number of Christians in the country fell by more than 2 million.
-Cute, no mention that the vast majority of the muslim immigrated into the UK and the Christian population immigrated out. The UK is experiencing a white flight; those who can afford to leave are doing so.

Experts said that the increase was attributable to immigration, a higher birthrate and conversions to Islam during the period of 2004-2008, when the data was gathered. They said that it also suggested a growing willingness among believers to describe themselves as Muslims because the western reaction to war and terrorism had strengthened their sense of identity.
-There are very few actual conversions unless they are counting the prison population.

Muslim leaders have welcomed the growing population of their communities as academics highlighted the implications for British society, integration and government resources.
-Gee the minions are happy with the increase but what about everyone else?

David Coleman, Professor of Demography at Oxford University, said: “The implications are very substantial. Some of the Muslim population, by no means all of them, are the least socially and economically integrated of any in the United Kingdom … and the one most associated with political dissatisfaction. You can’t assume that just because the numbers are increasing that all will increase, but it will be one of several reasonable suppositions that might arise.”
-Spoken like a true dhimmi. (more…)

Michael Steele Picked to Lead GOP

30 January, 2009

Former Maryland Lt. Gov. Michael Steele was just announced as the national GOP chair.

First African American to head GOP

January 30, 2009 by Domenico Montanaro
MSNBC

Michael Steele became the first African American to lead the Republican Party, two months after Barack Obama was elected the first black president of the United States.

It took six rounds, but, in the end, Steele pulled it off, staving off South Carolina Party chair Katon Dawson, by a 91-77 vote. (This means, of the Anuzis votes, Steele picked up 12, Dawson got eight.)

“As a little boy growing up in this town, this is awesome,” Steele said. “It is with a great deal of humility and sense of service that I thank all of you … to serve as the next chairman of our proud … strong … and very, very hardworking Republican National Committee. …

“It’s time for something completely different, and we’re going to bring it to them. We are going to bring this party to every corner, board room, community….

“For those who want to obstruct,” he warned, “get ready to be knocked over.”

He vowed to expand the party like never before seen and that he will take the fight to all parts of the country.

“To my friends in the Northeast,” he said, “get ready baby, it’s time to turn it on. We’re going to win in the Northeast, continue to win in the South, win with a new storm in the midwest, and when we get to the west, we’re going to win there.”

He called this “a new opportunity. I cannot do this by myself.”

He vowed to empower the national committeemen and make sure the “values” and “principles  that made us the party of Lincoln” are brought to the forefront.
